Neighbour heard everything!

So I have been divorced a year and have been talking to a guy for a good while (we have met a few times prior to this) anyway, we ended up back to my house one night and my neighbour heard the whole thing. To the point where she knocked on the wall. I want to die of embarrassment, I saw her the other morning and she usually says hi, nothing, I think she now hates me.

Did she ever knock the wall when you were with your ex?

No never, this one was a bit more spicy I’m guessing

Can you hear her through the wall?

Can you hear her through the wall?

Occasionally I can yes but never heard anything like that, just the dog etc.

It was the look she gave me, I felt so rubbish

Maybe it was very late and she was fed-up?

Maybe. I saw her this morning too she literally blanked me again. Oh well never mind I suppose

This was a few weeks ago now, thought it would have blown over tbh

She's entitled to be grouchy if you kept her up, but you are also entitled to a sex life.

It will blow over.

MaplePumpkin · 11/11/2025 12:54

Apart from usually saying hi, do you have much of a relationship with her? Does it really matter if she’s now blanking you?

God forbid a woman enjoys a bit of sexy time with her man. Fair enough you should maybe turn the volume down, but her shaming you is not on!

LeavesTrees · 11/11/2025 12:58

I suppose it depends what she heard and also if she has kids who also may have heard it.

My next door neighbours used to have noisy sex in the garden when they first moved in - the elderly neighbour the other side of them soon put a stop to that!

While it’s great for you, it’s often not very nice to hear it.

I completely understand that and I do feel bad about it. I haven’t done it since. She does have children and I understand why she may have been annoyed

And what did you do when she knocked on the wall 😂 🙈

Deedeebob · 11/11/2025 14:15

she needs to grow up! It’s hardly crime of the century ffs I’d understand if it was allll the time but if she is behaving like that, and it is just a one off, then she is a dick

Happyjoe · 11/11/2025 14:16

SunnieShine · 11/11/2025 13:32

Probably not.

Do you not get lighthearted jokey posts? Probably not.

BauhausOfEliott · 11/11/2025 14:17

f you were making a big show of being performatively loud and screaming about it or your headboard thumps loudly against the wall or something, and it was the middle of the night, then yeah, I can see why she was a bit miffed.

If it was just a creaking mattress and a few impassioned moans, then she needs to accept that people are allowed to fuck in their own homes. What does she expect you to do? Fit yourselves with a silencer?

BauhausOfEliott · 11/11/2025 14:18

Maybe the bloke you shagged was her ex.

ilovepixie · 11/11/2025 14:19

She’s probably jealous.

tempname1234 · 11/11/2025 14:24

If you think this going to be a somewhat repeated event in the bedroom, consider reconfiguring your bedroom. Bed to the other walk, wardrobe against the shared wall, rugs etc to absorb sound. Use a white noise machine or low level soft music. Don’t forget to close windows and blinds

good for you though.

Bluecrystal2 · 11/11/2025 14:36

Don't worry, it will blow over.

I heard my neighbour's best friend banging her husband when she was in hospital.

Screwyousimon · 11/11/2025 14:50

I had a screamer next door to me in my old house. Holy shit I thought she was being murdered when I first heard her (made worse by the fact she had young teens). I bought ear plugs for the next time but never said a word.
