Aibu to think that the Darlington nurse case in court right now has not had much press and that it is a very important case.

So did the unions support them?
I don’t work in the industry but thought nurses had their own union?

The RCN called them bigots and refused to help.

The RCN were so horrible to Sandie Peggie that she is suing them to get 30 years of subs back

The RCN has also refused to help Jennifer Melle and in fact sided with the man who hurled racist abuse at her

At least some if not all of the Darlington Nurses were members of Unison. When they approached Unison for support they were told that the Unison Rep was already supporting Rose/Tyler.

They were not advised that this did not mean that Unison would refuse to help them: it is normal practice in such situations for the Union to allocate a different Rep to the case or a Full Time Officer if none is available.

As they were not told this, they sought legal advice and have since set up their own union, which Sandie Peggie has joined.

Rose/Tyler's sister appears to be a member of Unison too. She was marching with Unison at the 2025 Durham Miners' Gala. When she saw women with Banners supporting the Darlington Nurses she went apeshit and came over shouting, "TERFs!! There are TERFs here! Get the TERFs out!!"

Then head butted a woman standing with the women holding the Darlington Nurses Banners.

There were several members of Durham Constabulary standing very nearby who saw this happen. One of them had a "quiet word" with her and let her go back to the Unison contingent with their banners.

The woman who was head butted had to go to the local police station to report the assault. Photo and video evidence of the assault and injury have been given to the police.

I don't know the outcome or if Unison were informed that one of their number had launched an unprovoked physical assault on another woman.

Thank you for the information.

This could be saod about the entrie trans movement, tbh.

It's been going on for years. But the problem is that it just sounded so unbelievable to.most people that they just didn't believe the women who were talking about it and refused to look into it themselves on the basis that they weren't going to be like those nasty bigoted women and were going to 'be kind' instead.

Because what those nasty bigoted women were saying couldn't possibly be true. Except that it was.

Like the thread on FWR called something like This Never Happens which outlined all the things that everyone was saying would never happen but had, in fact, happened...

Like Sandy Peggie.

Hope these NHS bosses and their wokery is publicized to the max. Who gave these thick as mince virtue signallers the right to piss taxpayer cash on the wall to satisfy their ‘progressiveness’.

Just remember the next time you are told the NHS is underfunded, they are wasting your cash on this nonsense and the lawsuits they have to pay out on. The NHS is not underfunded. The people running it are incompetent and dangerous.

hardstareglare · 09/11/2025 15:35

Exactly, it’s not an isolated incident.

I was very much supportive of this type of inclusivity because in the main it didn't affect me and I thought of myself as liberally minded. Then I read about that female boxer’s skull being broken (sorry I have forgotten her name) by a trans identifying man in the women’s competition.

I then started engaging and thinking about this further and from all women’s point of view, including those less privleged/lucky than me. I realised I was supporting something that not only affected all women but disproportionately the most vulnerable. Women who have been abused and need an all female refuge centre, woman who are in prison for petty crimes and need a safe same sex environment because they can’t get out to safety, women who have been abused (1 in 4 of us) and therefore same sex changing rooms are absolutely vital for their well being and dignity.

It is not progressive and it is not kind. To think that the rights of women, especially the most vulnerable women should be passed up for, often one biological male is shocking.

And let's not forget that when one of the nurses - who is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse - needed gynae surgery, the male she and others had complained about was scheduled to be present during her surgery:

But worse was to come for Karen. By, as she says, ‘an unhappy coincidence’, she was due to have a gynaecological operation at Darlington Memorial Hospital in August 2024.

To her horror, she discovered that Rose was scheduled to be involved.

The procedure would be part robotic, and Rose’s role would involve being at the bedside, passing tools to the surgeon.

“It is difficult to put into words how I felt,” Karen said, “I immediately knew this was ethically wrong and that my condition would be made worse and more painful with the stress it would cause.”

With a colleague, Karen approached the theatre manager and explained the situation, the legal case and how Rose’s involvement would be “completely inappropriate”, and that she wanted women involved in the operation.

Astonishingly the theatre manager said: “But Rose is a woman”.

She added that she thought Karen was being “prejudiced”.

She tried to explain that she was not singling Rose out, but that there was clearly a conflict of interest and because of her childhood trauma she wanted women involved in the procedure.

Regarding Rose being removed from the operating team, Karen was asked: “How do you think that would make Rose feel?”

She was given the choice of cancelling her surgery, trying to get it done at another hospital, or allowing Rose to be part of the operation. Any delays would prolong the pain she was in and had been for some time.

After putting her position in writing, the theatre manager wrote to her and said that her request could not be accommodated “due to clinical and staffing skill mix issues.”

With legal support and advice from the Christian Legal Centre, days before the operation, Karen went to the Patient Advisory and Liaison Service (PALS).

After outlining her situation, PALS swiftly made the decision that it was not appropriate for Rose to be involved.

Despite what the theatre manager had said, it appeared very possible to reallocate staff so that Rose was not involved in the operation.

“I believed this was purely vindictive and demonstrated how low they were prepared to go,” Karen said. “Gender identity was placed above patient and staff care. They tried to punish me for the legal case I was part of and for opposing gender identity policy within the hospital.”

This is absolutely mind blowing.

How can the people that did this to Karen think they have an ounce of humanity??

They are clearly manifestly unsuited to any kind of role which involves the welfare of patients and should all be removed from their roles. Ideally to a role which involves no patient contact, management or responsibility that affects patients. Cleaner maybe. Or catering. No disrespect to cleaners and catering staff.

Another point which no one considered when toilets were changed in the name of inclusivity (with floor to ceiling doors and mixed sex) is that it is not just more dangerous for women’s safety from men generally but also from a health and safety perspective.

Generally the first place someone might go if they are feeling ill is the toilet and if they were to collapse the gap under the door would make this very visible to other toilet users. A leg or arm would fall out of the gaps and help can be called

@keeptoiletssafe might be able to be more specific

But why have these safety aspects not been considered

BBC coverage of Jo Phoenix evidence today
not on the Health page
hidden well away
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckgk8gjkn3xo

Lawyers for the County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust said Prof Phoenix was "gender critical", meaning she believed sex was "immutable", which could colour her "independence".

How do these people stand up in court and say these utterly ridiculous things? I know lawyers are supposed to come up with whatever nonsense and lies they think will get their clients off but these people clearly have no shame or self reflection.

Sex IS immutable. No one in the history of mankind has ever changed their sex. EVER! To know that is to know a fact. How can knowing facts mean someone is not ‘independent’?

What also was not considered is the female toilet usage includes activities outside of the ability to lock the door.

It is like there is a group of people who have never in their life needed to use a toilet facility where what they needed didn't fit neatly into a toilet cubicle with a locked door. How great for them!

Here is that list of toilet usage this is just my own experience:

I have had to use the toilet while having a pram / pushchair jammed into the door with groceries.

I have had to have my mum use the public toilet because the disable toilet was not available and had her wheelchair jammed in the door because I couldn't leave her sit to move it and shut the door.

I have had breastmilk leaks / children's vomit / food spilled on my clothes and needed to have an unbuttoned top to dry the top under the hand drier.

I have come across other women quite regularly washing out their tops or their skirts etc and drying them enough to put back on .

I have friends who have miscarried in toilets and needed assistance and for that to be female people to make it more comfortable.

I went to the pub the other night and there was a woman dealing with a spilled wine on her top.

Toilets are not just used behind a closed cubicle door. There are quite a few aspects of female toilet usage that happen in the public space, or even now still occur with a toilet door jammed open.

So, this push for 'unisex' toilets with just locked cubicles etc also really doesn't work in practice, women still need female single sex toilet provision. Imagine waiting for a woman to dry out her top in one cubicle while there is a line forming. It just doesn't work the way people demand that it does.

Keep in mind with this case the sheer number of sexual harassment cases there are in the NHS full stop. And the way women in the NHS are treated and the way the men (especially those actually found guilty in court) are treated.

It is institutionally sexist.

I found out yesterday that DDs friend studying to be a nurse at university has had to have self defence training to protect herself not only from patients attempting to sexually assault her but also from staff.

All the millions of £££s spent on ‘EDI’ and they can’t manage to prevent female staff being sexually assaulted by their colleagues so the female staff have to defend themselves. Female patients presumably don’t stand a chance.

OpheliaWitchoftheWoods · 09/11/2025 17:52

.....Another selective policing/it's ok to assault so long as you just assault a bad woman incident.

It's shameless and countrywide at this point. The law doesn't matter, just following the fad.

Do you know if she has sought the training for herself, is it part of the course or is it a thing that all female students are recommended to do?

I hope that anyone reading this, who was not previously aware of this ideology and the state sanctioned abuse of women and girls, will go over to the Feminism Sex and gender board and read wealth of information there. It is encouraging to see that this thread is still here and has not been moved lest too many people read it and realise what is going on.

So selfish 🙄

I mean, you've used a lot fo words to talk about and centre women's needs, blah, blah, blah and NOT ONCE have you even stopped to consider how this might make some men feel! 🙄

Why can't you just stop thinking about women for just one minute and spare a thought for the most vulnerable members of society - men!

Its definitely not a mental illness but these are definitely also the most vulnerable members of society and alll women must step aside for them and 'bekind'! And not upset them by speaking truths to them or using factual words that might hurt their feelings so we are also going to change the words you can use to describe yourselves and your experiences. But also, there are so few of them that it's hardly worth you even bothering your pretty little head about. Not prettier than these men though! Gosh, no.

So we're going to let them win beauty pageants (whatever you think about them). Ooh and woman of the year and women in business and sports woman of the year awards. After all, you don't really appreciate what it is to be a woman. You were just born as one and some of you aren't even doing it properly. You don't dress sexily, you don't always wear make up, sometimes you wear jeans, you don't always shave and you don't like being wolf whistled at. It's women who aren't womaning properly! Leave it to the men. They do it so much better.

And just stop talking about gross stuff like biological matters. How reductive! Surely you understand that women are so much more than biology? How can you even claim to have women's interests at heart when you're reducing them to bodily functions in this way??

Oh, and don't talk about pregnancy and the realities of that because some men really struggle with the fact they can't carry a baby and lactate and become mothers. So much so that they even take chemicals and hormones to stimulate lactation and turn up to breastfeeding classes and force the other women to go along with their fantasies. Or hide in public toilets and take used tampons out of sanitary bins and stick them up their arses while they have a wank. Women who don't understand this are unaware of their privilege.

Pretty much sums up how these points have been responded to whenever they've been raised over the past 10+ years.

Oh and the point about tampons - there's a whole subreddit devoted to it and men sharing when they've done it. Along with a subreddit of intact males who've had breast implants wearing lingerie and showing off their erections. I've seen it. That was a happy day👍

And - while bog standard women are barely allowed to take a paracetamol while breast feeding , chest feeding, men can take a whole cocktail of drugs to produce a discharge from their nipples, which they can then stick in the mouths of new born babies in order to experience breast chest feeding to get a sexual kick.

And there was the patient raped by a trans identifying male patient on the female ward which the hospital covered up. I think someone in this thread mentioned it earlier.

Letting men access women's single sex spaces is an abusive man's dream scenario.
