The immigration related clown show continues

So now an Algerian national who was released by mistake last week is at large. As if the previous debacle with the Epping forest sex offender wasn’t bad enough.

The fact that we are hearing about this again and again tells us that,
This happens all the time
Foreign national offenders are over represented in crime statistics
Immigration is out of control
People working in Home office, prison service and and every other government department are incompetent and beyond useless.

And these people have the audacity to tell us that they want more of the public’s money in taxes.

At this point, this government (and the previous one) is laughing at us. They are taking the piss out of us. This country is broken and Labour and Tories need to be voted so far into oblivion and out of power that they never get anywhere power, ever again.

Lammy is a calamity.. About as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Labour should never have cancelled the Rwanda plan - illegal immigrants now have no reason not to come

PatheticDistraction · 06/11/2025 08:02

It also tells us that the media plays into public outrage.

As an example- I grew up in a small rural community, everyone knew everyone - there was a rampant culture of older white men sleeping with underage girls, plying them with alcohol etc - what we now know as grooming.

This was rarely, if ever, reported. None of the girls involved would have been able to be anonymous. You'd have been reporting your mate's brother or the friendly shopkeeper's son etc.

To report would have been to throw a hand grenade into the local community.

I use this as an example of the fact that there is abuse in all sectors of society - and that's not to dismiss underlying cultural factors, but the media disproportionately report on cases involving foreign nationals - it's a far easier pill to swallow.

Labour won’t get far anymore even with this stuff

Why didn't the Tories implement it?

Could it be it wouldn't work?

Rwanda was for 5000 asylum seekers over 5 years, we have had 5000 come over in just over ONE week.

Nothing about Labour who are in power? The number they can rely on with this falls each week.

It will take a decade at least to undo the damage done by cuts to public services.

Agreed.

The constant scrutiny of them is beginning to tell. The crying, the angry outbursts, the u-turns, the terrible personal admin, the frequent and unnecessary trips abroad.

One can only imagine it will reach boiling point on the 26th November.

And a multiple of that to fix the damage
now being inflicted by this government.

You hard of thinkers need to decide what the "far left" actually are. Just this week I've been called a Socialist, a Communist and now a Marxist. All very different things, but I doubt you know that as you get your news from Facebook and X

Since you seem to be so triggered and angry, the cap must fit.

They did pledge to do it without tax rises and it was “fully funded”.

£70bn tax and borrowing hike, then the need for another £40bn odd because they got it wrong won’t help public spending. As even Labour once uttered you can’t tax your way to growth.

monkeysox · 06/11/2025 08:11

How come 14 years of austerity and cuts have only led to a handful of cock ups like this ?

100s were released by mistake while tories were in power.

Yep 100%

The public know this, hence the Tories know this, hence their worst election defeat ever, less than 120 MPs now.

They had 14 years to show us what they could do and failed on every measure.

Labour to me, seem to be addressing issues but there are so many failures.

Only the most diehard Tory refuses to accept this and why they are behind Labour in the polls.

Even Reform can't get a 1/3rd of voters on their side.

mellongoose · 06/11/2025 08:13

For PP, Sunak’s 80 majority was not that. Between 2019 and 2024 there were several by elections lost, then there were former senior cabinet members who would not reliably turn up to vote because they were ‘terribly important and otherwise engaged’ and don’t forget, the Tory party was woefully divided following the first leadership election.

The same is true for this Labour parliamentary party. They say divided parties don’t win elections. Divided parties cannot govern either.

The solution is to end this ridiculous culture of having absolute binary opinions on everything and never being able to pivot because “there’s always a tweet”.

I despair of our democracy and I blame social media wholly. Tony Blair and Margaret Thatcher would never have been PM for long if SM had been a thing. Nobody can.

Rant over!

How do you explain Labours torrid ratings now?
And the pace of their decline?

Conservatives overtook Labour in the polls this week so they don’t even have that anymore.

I find the interchangeable use of socialist, communist and Marxist fascinating. I am really looking forward to the new mayor of New York putting the means of production in the hands of the people….

RIght wing press starting in on them from day 1.
Electorate of very little brain expecting instant miracles.
Insufficient comms on their actual achievements.
And yes, government prone to gaffes.

‘Very little brain’ seems apt with this and tax and borrowing hikes soon after, tax hikes to be repeated again because it was damaging.

Labour's manifesto is, "fully funded and fully costed - no ifs, no ands, no buts… no additional tax rises."

"I have been very clear that every policy we announce, and every line in our manifesto, will be fully costed and fully funded."

“Nothing in our plans requires any additional tax to be increased.”

“We’ve got the Office for Budget Responsibility now… You don’t need to win an election to find out [about the public finances].”

“I don’t believe that fiddling around with tax rates is the best way to grow the economy.”

Yawn, at least try to pretend to stay on the topic. Your constant bashing of Labour, is beyond tedious. This is about wrongly released convicts, which was happening wholesale under the Cons too!

You can't keep blaming the press. Its a mess of their own making.

Yeh it’s bad and worse that Lammy deflected and gaslighted in HoC.

I find it odd that the Daily Telegraph knew and tipped off that Tory bloke.
