To ask if you've ever seen a doppelganger?

I'm at a major rail station about 200miles from home and just seen DH who should be at home. Went over and it is the spitting image of him except a bit taller and DH has a mole on the side of his face.

Non-DH saw me staring so I explained why. I showed him a photo of DH and he was also totally shocked at the resemblance. He kindly let me take his photo which I sent to DH, his reaction was to ask when I'd taken it as he doesn't remember having that jacket!

It's freaked us all out bit! Non-DS is 2 years older so not a seperated twin but so so odd.

Anyone had similar?

My "brother" got on our train 2 months after he died. Quite freaked me out, and really upset my youngest.

But on a lighter note, my friend's son started school and 2 other boys in his class, were his double / triple?

That's how she found out about her husbands antics. 🙄

I was told my doppelganger runs exercise classes in a nearby town.

I hope she has a better figure than me , she probably does what with running all those exercise classes.

I went out to see a band in a pub a couple of years ago and my son was there.

Or he looked like him, at least. He was dressed similarly, same height and build, exact same hair colour (quite unusual/distinctive and natural) and style, he even danced like him, mannerisms. Everything.

I had a few beers and ended up telling him 😅

Years ago I told a colleague she was the spit of my cousin. She said I was identical to her cousin.

I had one. I was mistaken for her by several people and various friends saw her as well - an aunt even called to ask why I was hiding that I could drive because she saw me get into a car in a car park and ignore her calling me.

I saw my DD1's double on a Canadian property show. The face, the build, the hair. However I mostly recognised her smile and the way she stood, the way she moved her arms when she spoke, just everything. I had the show recorded so showed it to DD. Her little boy immediately shouted "that's Mummy!"

Interestingly enough my great grandmother was born in Nova Scotia but married an English soldier in the 1870s and came here. Lots of the females in subsequent generations look like her, so maybe there are some cousins over there.

My sister - same hair, same glasses, same style of dressing. Marching purposely along a pavement coming towards me nearly every time I visit the town where she lives. I always think - Oh, it's X! - before realising it isn't. The real difference is that this one always looks down at the pavement as she walks.
Now it's a bit creepy because I visit this town irregularly and at different times of the day, and I probably see this woman about 80% of the times I drive along that road. Only the last couple of times I've started to feel a bit creeped about it, and it occured to me that I don't want her to look up and catch my eye.

Mine worked for the same bank.on a town a few miles from the bank where I worked! When they deputised at my bank, and we both say on the bus together the double takes!

This is totally outing but I had a doppelgänger at uni.

She was called Jen and from my first year people would say “hi Jen” when I walked past. I did an arts degree and she did astrophysics so our paths didn’t cross until third year when a friend of a friend introduced us.

She looked at me in disgust and said “I don’t look like that, do I?” How rude! But she really was the image of me. We both had our noses pierced but hers was on the left and mine is the right so it was like looking in a mirror!

She worked in the union and I took my parents to peek at her when they visited once - they were also amazed.

I have a peculiar twisty face but this woman looked exactly like me. Exactly. She was very stylish compared to me but facially, she could be my identical twin. It was really friggin eerie.

This afternoon I've seen my dhs cousin. Except she's been dead 18 months. Poor woman must have thought i was bats.
DH swears blind he saw me 40 years ago (he'd seen me in the pub I worked in before)in a record shop in a part of town id never been in. He was trying to get the courage up to talk to me, so who knows, he may have ended up with my double.

I’m an identical twin and a few times in our lives people have told us there’s someone out there who looks just like us.
Once over 20 years ago on the school bus, again a few years when my aunt was a magistrate and this person was up in front of her.
My sisters colleague saw her driving around nearby a few years ago and finally a few weeks ago someone came up to us when waiting outside a theatre asking which one of us was Sarah. When we said neither she literally ran away, out of embarrassment I guess.

It’s rather intriguing. I wonder if she knows about us?

I saw a man who was the spitting image of my lovely grandad on the District Line a couple of years ago. It was wonderfully comforting.

I have never met anyone that said they've seen my doppelganger, thank god cause i'm quite ugly.

However when i was in college i was in a store and this girl walked by me in a cast and on crutches and i thought it was my roommate. I was going to speak to her but she looked at me with no recognition at all and there was something off about her, i got a bit of uncanny valley feeling, and at that moment i realized it wasn't her but it left me with an eerie feeling. Later after I got back to my apartment, my roommate showed up - without crutches - and I told her i saw someone that looked just like her and she said it couldn't have been her as she hadn't made it back to town yet.

I saw my colleague out on a run the other morning. When I mentioned it to her, she said it wasn’t her. She was quite excited to have a doppelgänger; we’re just trying to work out if it’s her evil twin or if she’s the evil one …

My Brother saw a doppelganger of our dead Nan a few years ago. He spoke to her, told her and got a picture. It was hair raising how similar they were. I think I'd have had a heart attack!!!

There's a child on a Norwegian sweater knitting pattern on Ravelry who looks identical to me when I was 6 or 7. I mean so similar that it actually could be me.

I was swimming once at the local pool when I saw, not my doppelgänger but definitely a sister! I have two sisters and this lady was a combination of all three of us. It was so weird and I think I stared at her every time we passed in the swimming lane!
