Boyfriend sent me a video

I've started to date a new guy (he's not my boyfriend) and he sent me a video which was supposed to be taken at 6am in the morning (he sent it late afternoon).

It was taken when he was in bed (no not sexual) and what caught my eye is that it was light outaide. The light was shining on the TV screen in his room. He has those office type blinds vertical style.

The video was black and white in style, so it wasn't bright in the room, I just find it bizarre the winwod were so bright.

He stated his son woke him up at 6am and he took a video of him singing. I just found it weird the windows looked so bright.

Is it really bright at 6am? I thought it wasn't bright until 7ish.

(He is staying he's tired from being up early etc and can't meet, which is fine but it looks so bright outside that I instantly thought the video wasnt taken at night. I've just got a feeling it's not quite right)

Anyone up at 6am and van confirm on the room brightness

If you're not sure because you feel he's cheating on his partner with you, just end it now, he doesn't sound worth it. 'I'm tired' is a lame excuse this early on.

Where does he live? It's light in lots of places at 6am, and don't forget it is spring in the southern hemisphere right now.

He could just be saying “this is what my son is like at 6am”, not necessarily this video was taken at the exact time of 6am this morning. If you think he’s lying to you and it’s making you question the reflection of light on a TV screen then it’s probably better to just end things now before going crazy with suspicion

Why do you assume it was taken at 6am on that day? He could have taken that video before but just thought to send it now as an example of what happened that morning. Sometimes adding a long caveat like:

”*there is a crack of light coming from the blinds as I took the video 7 months ago and I am only sending you this as I just wanted to show you my child singing”

Kind of kills the atmosphere? Most people aren’t overly explaining WhatsApp media like that? It’s not the done thing.

If you think he’s being weird and purposely editing images to be black and white to cover the time of day, then end things. But from the evidence presented, it sounds paranoid.

So just to clarify, OP is suspicious because the video was supposedly taken at 6am when it so DARK outside but the video showed daylight outside. Hence her thinking that the guy is lying about when he took the video.
Pretty obvious tbh.

i can understand why it would raise an eyebrow OP! Just because it seems like he’s lied for some reason. I can confirm that it’s not daylight at 6am. It’s dark outside. Could the reflection have been from anything else at all? Are you worried he’s lying about why he can’t see you?

I agree with your summary.

Why do you think he would lie OP? Do you have other suspicions?

In answer to your question, it’s dark outside at 6am (I have horses, so I’m an early riser)

Having dated a serial liar, who’s little white lies were just completely out of control to the point that I couldn’t believe a word that came out of his mouth, I get it OP.

There’s a street light right outside my front bedroom it it would appear light outside at any time of day and night

also you said he’s sent it in a black and white style so I presume he’s used a filter so it would enhance/change the light

all that aside that level of scrutiny sounds like your looking too hard to catch him out

Just had a look at the motion triggers on our camera. When DS left for work at 5:15 it was dark, when DH left at 6:30 it was light. I CBA to go look at the whole footage to see when that changed. We also have a cat that triggers the security light over the road on and off all night which would likely show as light on a black and white video.

Irrelevant to any of the above, if you are over thinking this stuff or get an off feeling, chuck this one back.

I can confirm having let my dog out for a piss at 6.30am that it’s still pretty dark. Not bright anyway! Is it the lying that’s the issue OP? That would piss me off too, I can’t stand liars.

Sunrise tomorrow is at 7:07 so yes at 6am, it’d still be dark outside. However if the video was taken a week ago before the clocks went back, at 6am it’d probably have been lighter outside.

Was taken Sunday or Monday.

It's definitely not light at 6am so he was obviously bullshitting about when it was taken. The question is does he lie about ridiculously trivial shit a lot?

Did it not occur to you he might have been to for awhile before taking the video. I might quite easily say- been up since 6am- listen to this... not actually meaning video taken at 6.
