This horrific story just doesn't make the news. The ongoing slaughter of innocents appears to be largely ignored.

If you are unaware its Sudan and 2000 people slaughtered a few days ago.

No poll. Just posting to raise awareness of this tragedy.

"The massacres the world is witnessing today are an extension of what occurred in el-Fasher more than a year and a half ago, when over 14,000 civilians were killed through bombing, starvation, and extrajudicial executions,” the group said.

It said the attacks are being carried out as part of a “deliberate and systematic campaign of killing and extermination”.

The statement comes as new evidence of mass killings in the strategic area has emerged from Yale’s Humanitarian Research Lab (HRL), which reported that satellite imagery of el-Fasher, taken after the RSF moved in, shows clusters of objects consistent with the size of human bodies, as well as large areas of red discolouration on the ground.

The RSF has been locked in a bloody civil war with Sudan’s army since 2023, in a conflict that has killed tens of thousands and displaced more than 12 million people.

The paramilitary force overran el-Fasher, the army’s last stronghold in Darfur, on Sunday after 17 months of siege."

I think the link didn't work.

No. Eastasia is at war with Oceania.

That's what our leaders keep telling us. They wouldn't lie, and will always keep us safe.

We shouldn't question them. If they wanted us to know about Sudan, they would have told us.

Thanks for the thread OP

Thanks for the thread OP

I'm not sure it will generate much interest, but its a situation that is largely ignored. 🫩

The hospital massacre where the RSF murdered every single person in the hospital, was too disturbing for words. Men, women, children, no-one was scared. And they even recorded it.

Dweetfidilove · 30/10/2025 10:18

I was reading about this yesterday. It's truly horrific and the 'world' is so silent about it.

I saw a woman with two children pleading for her life and my heart broke.

Thanks for raising awareness.

mellongoose · 30/10/2025 10:21

You’re right to raise awareness about this and it’s horrific that it only makes the news part way down the running order, if at all.

mellongoose · 30/10/2025 10:22

Just to add, I’d be grateful if anyone more knowledgeable than me could explain why lack of media coverage is so.

Yes, I second this. I imagine it's a supposed 'lack of interest' from readership because it's far away and doesn't involve obvious allies and enemies or major players on the world stage. They are atrocities that make readers feel helpless rather than galvanising the kind of outrage that can be easily directed at anyone with a presence closer to home. And people tend to shy away from things that make them feel helpless despair. I also think there is a strong sense of overload that a lot of people are struggling to extend their horror to another horrific war. It's, sadly, easier for many to turn away.

Which makes it all the more important that you've raised awareness in this post. I would love to see more protest and outrage about this.

I am no expert but I gather the UAE is heavily involved in funding some of these militias. And UK arms sold to the UAE have been involved in this genocide.

Kahar · 30/10/2025 10:40

Why don’t the Free Palestine lot bring attention to this horrific genocide? Where are the marches? Where are the flags? Oh yeah cause there are no Israelis/Jews to be in conflict with.

I can’t believe what humans will do to one another. Those poor, poor people. Heartbreaking

Martymcfly24 · 30/10/2025 10:42

Thanks for the thread @Ihatetomatoes . I just wanted to reiterate on a parenting website that 460 people (staff and patients) died brutally in an attack on a Maternity Hospital at the weekend. It is unimaginable.

BorgQueen · 30/10/2025 10:42

If they can’t blame Israel, they don’t give a toss.

Same with the complete erasure of Women in Afghanistan.

PinkPonyClubDancer · 30/10/2025 10:43

No one gives a crap about this because they can’t blame Jews for this one.

TheKeatingFive · 30/10/2025 10:44

Horrendous 😞

Insanityisnotastrategy · 30/10/2025 10:48

Those poor souls. Thank you for posting this OP.

SecretDecorator · 30/10/2025 10:50

Disgusting individuals

littlbrowndog · 30/10/2025 10:50

Thank you. I read about,, this yesterday. Truly awful

cupfinalchaos · 30/10/2025 10:51

No marches for this?

JacknDiane · 30/10/2025 11:02

This is absolutely horrific and yet there is hardly any media coverage.
Why is this being ignored??

Ankleblisters · 30/10/2025 11:02

cupfinalchaos · 30/10/2025 10:51

There was a march on Wednesday. I'm signing up for updates so I can attend the next one.

I think we should keep this thread focused on Sudan and not derail it with divisive comments about other wars.

MonetsLilac · 30/10/2025 11:04

Thank you for this, @Ihatetomatoes and also for your original thread. I didn't know much about this conflict, so thanks to you and other posters for highlighting this. I've followed the links, and also read the background information on the BBC news website.
War crimes, massacres and now a famine.
It makes for very distressing reading.

Was there a protest? I missed that. I'm glad there was, because it does raise awareness.
I'm guessing central London?
