I’ve had a hard week! Work trouble, kids playing up. Tell me something lovely that’s happened to you this week to cheer me up.

I found out this morning that I'm overweight! Woo hoo! 🥳

(Until recently I was obese. Not any more!)

PearlClutzsche · 25/10/2025 22:07

Should have added... hope you have a better week next week 😊

gamerchick · 25/10/2025 22:10

My work had an early Halloween celebration with decorations. I saw one of those plastic spiders on the floor and marvelled at how realistic it was. Went to pick it up and it ran off....

I may have made a noise.

dabdab · 25/10/2025 22:11

One of my little students read ‘s-I-t, that is ‘sit’! on her own all by herself for the first time.

LunaTheCat · 25/10/2025 22:11

It’s the simple things .. a lovely interaction with a patient this week, coffee with a really good friend, cuddles with my dogs.
Drinking tea in bed at the moment.
i am sorry that you have had a tough week..
I hope it gets better.

onwardandupwards · 25/10/2025 22:12

I took my youngest ds to a SEN small halloween party and he managed to stay for the full 2 hours and helped decorate halloween biscuits, and joined in catching bubbles and making slime potions! So unbelievably proud of him. Hope next week is better for you x

@gamerchick i picked up a bottle of beer from outside the back door tonight....it was covered in cobwebs!! There is a rather large wolf spider 🕷️ outside....

Danikm151 · 25/10/2025 22:12

My son went to football club today.. no tears this time but he did spend half of the time doing forward rolls 😅
he’s 5 and said he wanted to practice gymnastics at the same time

That’s amazing, well done 😊. I need to borrow some of your motivation and do something about my own weight! And thank you, I’m sure it will be, just feeling a little sorry for myself tonight 🙈

One of the chickens at my yard had two little chicks this morning.

I've just spent time with relatives I haven't seen for ages and forgotten how nice they are.

Itiswhysofew · 25/10/2025 22:14

DN, early 30s and has been struggling in life, got her first car this week, having passed her driving test a month ago. She's also started studying for a degree in history, and I'm delighted for her☺️

janiejonstone · 25/10/2025 22:14

Driving with DD8 this morning she spotted a van which said "Lift Specialists" on the side, and said "they should have just called themselves Specialifts". Dunno why but it made us giggle all day. She's been very sad lately as her dad isn't around, and it was lovely to have a proper giggle with her.

Omg. I would have also made a noise 😅

I was interviewed for a new job by a person who I 100% clicked with.
One of those where you feel you had known that person for ever.
Same humour, same ideas, conversation flowed and was interesting!
If I get the job, I will be working with this person very closely and I know that together we will move mountains.
If not, well, l met a wonderful human being!

Allthesnowallthetime · 25/10/2025 22:17

One of my rabbits, who was very wary of humans, has started to trust me enough to put both paws up on my lap to ask for treats 💕

SheepytheDuck · 25/10/2025 22:17

These are all so nice! 😊

You're lucky. The markings are amazing. I hope it relocates soon before winter bites.

Squirrelsnut · 25/10/2025 22:17

We're redecorating and I found a mother's day card DS made when he was little. It's so sweet.

@gamerchick and before I need a beer 😀 i do love the spider webs when the dew settles on them

My 17 yo DS just passed his L2 Pharmacy assistant apprenticeship. He has autism, ADHD and a processing disorder. He started work a few days after taken him last year and has made us all so proud the way he has just got on with working full time so soon after finishing school, esp after going through an extremely tough 18 months. He had a bike accident just as he went on study leave that resulted in a 4th patella dislocation followed by a year long wait for surgery, got bells palsy a few days before he started work and he even had to take an hour off in his first week so he could go to prom (with his droopy eye and mouth).

Its always a big unknown having ND children so we are so pleased for him.

I hope next week is better to you!
