I’ve had a hard week! Work trouble, kids playing up. Tell me something lovely that’s happened to you this week to cheer me up.

When I need cheering up I look at this site with live animal cameras from around the world. I normally watch the African safari ones, but the puppies are always lovely.

This is brilliant, I’ll defo have a look.

I'm sorry you're having a crappy week @SheepytheDuck Hopefully this will cheer you up.

This was a month ago..... I was in the garden and I saw a butterfly trapped in a cobweb that was on the fence. Splayed out with its wings flat, shaking and struggling in the web. I scooped it out gently, and held it in my cupped hand, then I gently closed its wings together, and very carefully pulled every little bit of cobweb off it.

Then when the web was all gone off it, I let go of its wings, and it flew away, high up... Then it kept flying around me for AGES, and fluttering around me. I know it's batshit, but I felt like it was showing me how happy it was that I'd saved it. 😍

It made me feel so happy. Grin

My daughter was such a handful, growing up. I honestly don’t know how I made it through her teenage years, it was such a rollercoaster. It nearly broke me.

She’s all grown up now and home for a visit. She offered to cook for us this evening. Insisted on paying for all the food and made the most delicious sea bass dish. In fact her whole visit has been a joy. I just never would have believed that my nightmare teenager would grow up to be this Pollyanna adult. I feel so blessed.

My work paid my overtime that I've been chasing!!

Bonjovispyjamas · 25/10/2025 22:36

Someone is interested in adopting my 41st foster cat 😺

ChuckedNorris · 25/10/2025 22:37

DD 14m said two new words today: crocodile ("crocka") and tickle 🥰

CharlotteStreetW1 · 25/10/2025 22:37

My six year old cat settled on my lap for the first time since he was a kitten.

Littlejellyuk · 25/10/2025 22:37

We finally emptied my mums house (she passed away this summer) of her last bits, as the house sold. I found old memories (christmas candles from when I was an infant, photographs, certificates) and I sprayed the last bit of her perfume last night (Chanel no 5) and it reminded me of her 💕
We can finally close another small chapter and remember the good times 💕

One of my rabbits, who was very wary of humans, has started to trust me enough to put both paws up on my lap to ask for treats 💕

Aww this melts me

Ds has found himself a house share and is flying the nest! It’s a little bit sad but mostly exciting. Am plotting to make him a chocolate loaf cake to take with him next weekend.

Redrosesposies · 25/10/2025 22:38

My DH finally has finally had the very complex operation he's been waiting nearly 3 years for.
He's not out of the woods yet as other issues have developed while he's been waiting but I think we might get that retirement we hoped for.
Feeling quite optimistic.
Hope next week is better for you @SheepytheDuck

Awww, I'm so glad. 😍

Netcurtainnelly · 25/10/2025 22:41

Bus fares, were a pound today. You could go wherever you wanted in the county for a pound. Special Weekend.

dizzydizzydizzy · 25/10/2025 22:41

I went to my favourite coffee shop this morning. I sat outside, looked up and in front of me was a tree with beautiful autumn leaves. It looked great against the bright blue sky and with the sun shining on it.

MagpieCastle · 25/10/2025 22:43

My son, who has autism, has just completed the first week of his first job. He's dealing so well with travel logistics, learning new skills and interacting with colleagues. Massively proud of him and it's wonderful to see his growing confidence.

MummytoE · 25/10/2025 22:44

I've not read a book in over ten years.... This week I've finished 3. It's great to get back in to reading!!

SabreIsMyFave · 25/10/2025 22:44

Some really cute, sweet, endearing stories on here! 😍

InOverMyHead84 · 25/10/2025 22:44

Had a very kind e-mail from a parent from one of my difficult classes, it concluded with 'We Appreciate You.'

It's a very difficult class. It meant the world.

monty2020 · 25/10/2025 22:45

My elderly mum with dementia and breast cancer said to me thank you for being you ❤️

illsendansostotheworld · 25/10/2025 22:45

Had some money go missing at work ages ago and although my boss 100% trusts me, l still felt like l was under suspicion. Anyway it turned up this week in a totally random place so a big relief! And my boss had forgotten all about it!
I hadn't!

pasanda · 25/10/2025 22:47

My dd21 has found her dream hamster after her other one passed away. Shes been looking for the perfect replacement for ages and has now found ‘the one’ 😊

defrazzled · 25/10/2025 22:51

One of my pedigree sheep is very old, 13, and her twin died last month, she was lonely and got a bit thin. Today I noticed she's chummed up with another old girl and was happily skipping around in the sun. It really warmed my heart, they are such endearing animals 😊

BrucesBarAndGrill · 25/10/2025 22:53

This isn't from today but I'm still riding the high of it.

My 6 year old DS who is autistic and has never strayed outside the same... 7 or so safe foods ate fish fingers and chips for dinner! Last week he also ate a mc Donald's happy meal! It's an absolute break through. Only a few months ago he was having meltdowns if he even saw a non safe food on his plate! Eating a mc Donald's was out of the question, he even had his lunch box of safe foods with us for him to eat but he asked for a happy meal like his friend and brother, we got it expecting him to just want the toy and probably cry when it was put down but he just ate the whole thing. I was holding back the tears I was so proud of how fat he's come.

chimichangaz · 25/10/2025 22:56
