Customer collapsed in store customers were stepping over whilst first aiders attended to him

Man fell whilst I was shopping. It was by the condiments. First aiders attended whilst awaiting an ambulance.

I saw customers stepping over the ill man to get to the shelves. Fucking rude and disrespectful. There was a colleague who wasn’t a first aider but was holding onto the man’s hand. She was not best pleased with customers acting like this with her facial expressions. I shared my disgust with her. She said she was able to pass customers what they needed.

How would these customers that stepped over the man liked it if someone stepped over their unwell relative?

He fell
he was conscious
clearly going to be fine
the customer wanted that relish!!

Weekendwatch · 25/10/2025 15:25

Whereas some, like you, stood and gawped

youalright · 25/10/2025 15:27

Happens all the time people are arseholes

Weekendwatch · 25/10/2025 15:28

Just seen your other thread about supermarkets… you have a real bee in your bonnett about supermarkets atm OP 😆

WhatNoRaisins · 25/10/2025 15:30

I'd understand if someone was shopping for something essential like medicine but otherwise that's poor behaviour. I remember someone taking ill in the biscuit aisle and coming back later because whilst I wanted biscuits I didn't want them enough to be an arsehole.

Itiswhysofew · 25/10/2025 15:31

Poor man. How awful.

BallerinaRadio · 25/10/2025 15:33

I was going to say that's terrible but by the condiments too?!

How the fuck does that add to anything 😂

Castiela · 25/10/2025 15:35

I saw people complain at a bar that no one was serving and shouting towards manager when will someone serve them.
The manager was at the time giving cpr, alongside with barman to a man who died later.
He got complaints about a lack of service.
And then people wonder why many from service industry hate general public.

sweeneytoddsrazor · 25/10/2025 15:37

I am a first aider in a supermarket and we had to have security stop people filming myself and another first aider doing cpr on a customer. The public can be knobheads

I worked in a Mecca bingo hall years ago. Someone collapsed during a game and an ambulance was called. The people there were only interested in continuing the game. The woman's husband went to hospital with her in the ambulance, left her there and came straight back to demand a refund on the unused tickets.

OnlyOnAFriday · 25/10/2025 15:49

Asda or Waitrose? 😁

someone collapsed at Waitrose near me once, was having cpr in the veg section and they evacuated the store and closed it.

Even medication isn't ok you either wait elsewhere or you go somewhere else you don't ever step over a person on the floor recieving treatment.

Unbelievable!!

ScholesPanda · 25/10/2025 16:08

People are scum. May they choke on their condiments.

Maybe it was the condiments fault that the man fell. They can be completely untrustworthy at the best of times, they relish in causing mayhem.

I worked opposite a bingo hall and the dobberites would dice with death crossing the road to get to the bingo.
Arctic lorries, buses hmph must get to the bingo 🤣😁.
A few were hit by traffic.

spoonbillstretford · 25/10/2025 16:29

If I collapsed in a store as long as someone was helping me, I'd prefer others to step over me and get out of the way, go about their day and allow a medical team to come thriugh. I certainly wouldn't want crowds of people standing around and making a huge fuss.

Poor woman, imagine being married to that excuse of a human!

HRchatter · 25/10/2025 16:40

Can beat that, we had somebody (drug addict) off his tits loose with a knife running around a park threatening to stab everybody, And people completely ignored the police cordon because they wanted to get across the road to their cars.
Yeah mate, you knock yourself out. Well, he might knock you out

Id like to think most of us would stay out of the way and let people get on with it unhindered and given the space to do the necessary.
You're correct ridiculous.
