You literally couldn’t make this shit up.

This country is broken.

Reform should send David Lamey a big thankyou note for this gift.

I’m sorry but nobody should be inclined towards believing accounts like this unless featured in trusted sources like the Guardian or on the BBC. I don’t want to call people out and out liars, but anybody can post anything on the internet. We cannot abandon facts and reason because they might corroborate what we feel the world is like. That is not who we should be as civilised people.

We cannot abandon facts and reason

Hilarious coming from this poster. Who thinks the English invented slavery.

Another day, another wind-up merchant. Committed to the bit though.

😂
I wonder if that came from the Guardian or the BBC? According to that poster, everything else is a "bias" source (sic) 😂

I can’t prove that i’m not lying, however these are women and friends who I know from my home area. I have seen the decline with my own eyes when visiting there. I used to walk around these areas with my friends and faced no open harassment but no way would I do that now as a grown woman. I don’t go on twitter or X or whatever it’s called and I barely have time for the news. But I do listen to the accounts from ordinary people I know and care about. I have no problem with immigrants or people working here through legitimate means. I have travelled and worked abroad myself as an ‘immigrant and faced discrimination at times there for being from somewhere else, and would never want to do that to someone. But i can’t ignore the problems im seeing or have experienced and seeing the decline of areas due to these misogynistic men and want better for the girls of this country, and worry about my daughters safety in future.

AnareticDegree · 25/10/2025 15:11

Trusted sources like the Guardian OMFG 😂

Who made you the arbiter of trustworthy, Swift? Please enlighten this thick racist Brit as to which media I can read to get the Facts.

OK well I apologise for insinuating that you or anybody you may know could be lying, I realise that isn’t fair of me.

That’s all I will say on that one.

BettysRoasties · 25/10/2025 15:14

Women may be more likely to be attacked by someone they know historically.

However we are importing may men from countries who don’t see anything wrong with grabbing women and doing what they wish. Thats ontop of homegrown risk.

Why make the risks bigger?

Women are now at more risk merely walking the street or catching a bus home.

Increasing the risk should never be a oh but attacks happen anyway, oh but British men, oh but but but. NO. Stop increasing the risk for other women just because you feel safe. Many many don’t and clearly are not safe.

Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Don’t change secondary schoolers being picked up since local hotels changed because of the behaviour of these men. Local restaurants near those hotels closing because people stop going because of fear due to the groups hanging around or because they have actually just been genuinely harassed even for cash by these groups.

Good men whatever their ethnicity want to protect their women and children. They don’t leave them to be raped or killed back home. The trips to risky I hear the shouts, but why is it too risky? Oh yes the risk of rape to those women. By who? The very men again also fleeing.

Good decent men find ways to protect their women and children, they leave via official routes, they get visas because they are qualified in areas places want. They don’t leave them behind to rot with no male protector.

again open the doors to women and children by all means but the men can fix their country to make it safe for them to return.

WildLimePoet · 25/10/2025 15:15

We all know how much some people are detached from reality and still stuck in peak woke while the rest of the world slowly returns to sanity.

But some of posts on this thread are still shocking. It makes you feel sorry for these people who believe,

Uncontrolled immigration of men from countries where rape is routine is a way for UK to do its duty as it saves women elsewhere, no matter if British women are assaulted in the process.

Grooming gangs are made up and mythical, they are ‘so called’ because they don’t exist.

Eritrea, Egypt, Sudan and Afghanistan are safer for women than the UK.

British men are going around corrupting asylum seekers how to assault women.

Learning about your Anglo Saxon heritage if you’re white is an abomination and you must be radicalized.

And the old chestnut ‘oi racist’ if you happen to question uncontrolled borders and behaviour of some of the groups over represented in crime stats.

At least, the majority of women don’t subscribe to this batshittery and are actually not afraid to speak the truth.

You are far more likely to be attacked by someone you know, like your husband or your brother, than an asylum seeker. These cases only make the news because the right wing press are determined to find anything they can to fault these poor people. We even have very dubious anecdotes from posters on this thread claiming all sorts of likely fabricated things to make people incensed and angry about immigrants when it’s the billionaires we should be focusing on.

Personally I think sites like X are heavily to blame for this rapid change in online culture. Labour need to move quickly and remove access to rogue social media sites that peddle misinformation before it takes root amongst disenfranchised working class communities.

I just cannot understand how pps can dismiss actual experience with smooth platitudes from their lofty and very sheltered bubble of privilege. Haven’t we learned anything?

The Arabs used to enslave the Africans but that is rarely mentioned

And the British slave traders could not have operated without the cooperation of Africans who rounded up and sold their own people. It’s not pretty - few people come out of it well.

Slavery is obscene but the picture is complicated. I can’t bear the goodies and baddies school of history.

I’ve learned to take the Guardian with more than a pinch of salt over the years. But it’s an article of faith for some people to put it on a pedestal and being a reader is very much part of their identity.🙄

Yes, it's such a closed and narrow mindset, isn't it?

It doesn't exist, Coffee. It's far more layered, nuanced and complicated than some claim. It cannot be reduced to x country good, y country bad. Being simplistic doesn't deal with complicated issues.

dynamiccactus · 25/10/2025 15:38

I don't believe for a minute this was by mistake.

I’m with you, Ken.

But we won’t make any progress with what needs to be done until cynical (or stupid) people stop shouting ‘racist’ at those who are critical of unregulated immigration etc.

It’s the cheapest, naffest, most pathetic playground jibe which is always wheeled out to shut people down. We need to get over that and soon.

Agreed. We wouldn't have had Brexit if we hadn't kept telling those who complained about immigration that they were racist.

You have to listen to peoples' concerns.

I don't see how David Lammy is personally responsible for this appalling cock up. I'm sure Reform and its groupies will be crowing about it though.

This.

Yes, it’s farcical but you do understand that Mr. Lammy doesn’t personally tour prisons to release offenders?

They were men who committed crimes, the BBC doesn't actually have to say they are asylum seekers. Far more men who are not asylum seekers commit crimes against women every day. They aren't reported as 'man who a born and bred in UK commits crime'. why not ?

And David Lammy is hardly personally responsible for a mistale by a prison ( a prison system the tories had more than enough time to reform but did nothing about.)

There’s more British men in Britain than immigrants, which is why you say British men commit more crimes. Would be more fair to look at what’s the percentage of men who are immigrants and how many commit crimes. I say this as a third generation immigrant.

I struggle to believe it was a mistake as well. This man must be one of the highest profile prisoners in the UK, how could officers just have let him out?

TheaBrandt1 · 25/10/2025 15:57

The stats were posted upthread the sexual offences per 10000 men. Top was Afghanistan then a list of other African countries. Last was UK.

You are suggesting it was deliberate? On whose instruction?
Incompetence is very believable.

TheaBrandt1 · 25/10/2025 15:59

There’s an argument for a halt in male illegal immigrants from these countries on grounds of the safety of local women. It’s unfair on the innocent men from those countries but that needs to be set against safety of women and girls here.

ginasevern · 25/10/2025 16:05

And there will be far more crimes against women with thousands of unvetted and often unidentified men pouring year on year into the country. It is important to know where criminals come from for a variety of reasons - including disclosure, statistics and security. In the same way it was important to know that the Bradford grooming gangs were Asian. In the same way that a transwoman rapist should not be reported as an actual woman.

Haven't you learnt by now that men's rights trump women's every single time.
