You literally couldn’t make this shit up.

This country is broken.

Reform should send David Lamey a big thankyou note for this gift.

Reading the details of what was done to the young mother has made me cry this evening. An ordinary woman, just working a minimum wage job to pay the rent and bills, having to use public transport to get home from her shift late at night. Stabbed in the head over twenty times with a screwdriver. Five year old left behind.

And getting upset about unvetted young men being put up in communities with no oversight is apparently racist. So many concerns about the rights of these men, zero concern about the safety of women and girls. It makes me despair. You just know that this won't change anything.

I saw this and it’s absolutely horrific. So sad and disgusting what happened to her. Made me feel really sad 😔

Labour really need a new line on this.

It’s not a Labour line, it’s facts.

The right wing have been in power for 14 years, they got Brexit, they got Johnson, they got Liz Truss and what an utter shit show all of that has left the country in. The right wing can’t be honest and acknowledge what utter stupid mistakes they’ve made. Pointing this out is not a “line”.

I’m an ethnic minority myself and I really couldn’t give a shit about peoples need to virtue signal. I, my DD, my sisters, my nieces my friends all have to walk the same streets as the rest of the women in the UK. I want them to be safe, I want crimes against girls and women to be treated with some seriousness.

Do I give a shit if someone may be tortured by their government if they are deported for a sexual assualt. Not really. Most normal people who choose to move to a country tend to do so because they want to build a better life for themselves and their families. If you arrive and start assaulting people then I’m going to doubt your sincerity.

God knows if I genuinely needed asylum I’d be grateful to anyone who would have me and do my damn best to not be a burden. The weird thing about that is I fine see white british people saying things like “people shouldn’t feel the need to be greatful”. Yet people who have often come with a genuine wish to become a part of British society often talk with great fondness for Britain. I know my parents did, they were grateful to have been accepted and given the opportunity to build their lives in a country which was significantly less corrupt and sectarian from the one they came from. I’ve seen people who were genuinely being persecuted expressing their gratitude to be given safe harbour. It is a normal human emotion to feel warmly towards people who have helped you.

What you don’t do is start stabbing people.

Very well put

cobrakaieaglefang · 24/10/2025 21:52

If this offender commits another crime, whoever made decisions over release needs to be charged with conspiracy to commit crime, might concentrate the minds a little! Accountability.
Just because we have home grown perverts/sex offenders/paedophiles it doesn't mean we need to import more from elsewhere. Yes, we need to get our own house in order but thats not an excuse to have more of them.
Honestly, the more this goes on, the more people who have moderate views will get pissed off.
I'm not sure if this is design, which goes into conspiracy theory land or more worryingly pure incompetence at the highest levels. We are an island of course we can monitor/vet who enters the country.

Yes it’s very hush hush but I asked another question. Why do Germany, France and ROI have similarly horrendous male crime? presumably they still have access

Perhaps the pp should share this privileged information with the rest of the EU, as they clearly don't have it either 🤷‍♂️.

OP has put forward a view and is clear about that view. Other people are welcome to put forward and defend their points for discussion. Ideally they will be proper points, not just denial, justification or deflection.

What is your point?

My point, as explained above, is that it's not a discussion if all that is happening is that people are putting forward their point of view and instead of engaging is discussion, they are branding anyone who disagrees with them as 'woke' or 'racist' (depending on which side you fall).
All this is is people shouting at each other.

Yes to all this. Genuine refugees/ immigrants will be here with the intention of rebuilding their lives and providing for themselves. Committing any crime shows they are not.

You’d think they could get it if it’s EU dependent. If they don’t have it then Brexit isn’t relevant.

Noodledog · 24/10/2025 21:56

Bringemout · 24/10/2025 21:40

I really don’t want to make it about race but I always thought culture definitely has an impact. I heard a theory once that because porn primarily involves white women men from more conservative cultures believe that white women are basically all up for it all the time. I call bullshit on that though, you would have to be really stupid to think that having to hold down a woman while she’s terrified or crying is normal or in anyway consent. A few weeks ago I would have said it’s a cultural lack of respect for women, but being on these boards showed me that we have a lack of respect for girls and women's safety too. It has been really eye opening and quite terrifying.

I get really pissed off when I see some of the court statements saying “oh I didn’t realise it was illegal”. In which country is grabbing a girl or woman off the street and raping her legal? It’s the sheer fucking male entitlement to think that whatever they do doesn’t matter.

I think the UK not deporting rapists and murders is exactly why we have this problem. The gulf countries have massive migrant populations and are generally law abiding because anyone who commits a crime knows they are well and truly fucked when the police catch up with them. Here we can’t deport people to places like Afghanistan, pakistan flat refuses to take back it’s criminals. It’s a bloody joke.

It's absolutely crazy for people to believe that the culture a man grows up in won't massively affect their behaviour. There's a post earlier from a woman who came to the UK as a refugee from a country where women (and children) are seen as the possessions of their male relatives. And then you have PPs, presumably seriously, insist that a man from that country will be no more of a threat than a man from the UK. It's just magical thinking.

Yes, men as a class are a potential threat to women. The UK has gone through a gradual, long drawn out process where women's rights have gained legal recognitions, and equality of the sexes is given a large degree of acceptance. And we still have massive problems with sexual violence. Now we have women happy to throw away any improvements, in the name of temporary, feel good, social media approbation.

This country is a shambles. How can they let the wrong person out of prison and then have another one who’s pretending to be 19 even though records in Germany place him as older? I don’t understand why people don’t think this is a problem, we’ve got undocumented people arriving here daily and have no idea of their age or background and then they pay them to leave and they come back at the earliest opportunity they get. The world must be laughing at us.

The world is laughing but many people are actually sad. England has had great reputation until recently

Asylum seekers are overwhelmingly more likely to be victims of crime than commit crime, so I'm not sure that's really true.
This man obviously is completely vile.

Well put.

I work in criminal justice. The amount of foreign nationals I deal with, including repeat offenders, increases daily, at an alarming rate. Yes we have our own lovely criminals to deal with and there’s already too many of them (for the uber liberals), but it boils my piss that those on various settlement schemes, those seeking asylum, those who are in the country illegally, commit crime.

Some their criminal history goes back years, from the minute they’ve got here. Many can’t be deported whilst they have live cases against them so they commit more crime. Many treat me differently to my male counterparts clearly because I’m a woman. This is my lived experience. Our police are exasperated. We are pathetic when it comes to deporting. I moved to a Middle Eastern country years ago for a period. I wouldn’t have dared to step a foot out of line.

Of course this makes me a racist reform voter for pointing this out 🙄.
