You literally couldn’t make this shit up.

This country is broken.

Reform should send David Lamey a big thankyou note for this gift.

I am not shouting racist at anyone who doesn’t agree with my worldview. Which isn’t naive by the way. That’s your opinion.

You know nothing about me. You don’t know my age. My ethnicity. My profession or education level. You just continue to make assumptions about me and attack me by calling me naive. We are on a discussion forum and I am making points and yet I’m being attacked for my opinions. None of my posts back to you have included any insults - usually a sign of weak argument by the way.

I am highlighting risks in the male population as a whole. Asylum seekers pose unique risks and threats, that doesn’t mean they are all violent sexual offenders, lol. There are many individuals who have sought asylum in this country that are doctors, engineers and other skilled professions.
We also have many, many, many British men who are a risk to us women and girls but I don’t see anyone talking about this or creating discussion boards about this?

This thread is about that particular guy though..... its current, on the news, right now thats why its neing discussed. Weird how you are so much in his defence, what is your motive for defending this guy?

They were men who committed crimes, the BBC doesn't actually have to say they are asylum seekers. Far more men who are not asylum seekers commit crimes against women every day. They aren't reported as 'man who a born and bred in UK commits crime'. why not ?

And David Lammy is hardly personally responsible for a mistale by a prison ( a prison system the tories had more than enough time to reform but did nothing about.)

Please give this woke nonsense a break. YesUK born individuals commit crimes, but it is a very different mindset. We don’t particularly want them as part of our community. But as they are UK domiciled we can’t ship them out the country, everyone has to belong somewhere.

Just because we jace our own problems doesn’t mean we should import other country’s problems. We have a fight to know who is trying to get into our country, if they commit a crime we have every right to know someone asking to be part of our community is a murderer or rapist.

It’s funny how so many posters on here who are so passionate about anti violence towards women and girls ONLY want to discuss asylum seekers and not the other demographics of men that pose a risk to us… why is that hmmm?

Illogical, baseless and unfair.

This (and the tragic and shocking Welsh murder) are the news headlines this evening. Of course people are concerned. I. Sorry if it doesn’t fit the world-view of super-privileged commentators like Ms Frostrup.

BoredZelda · 24/10/2025 20:56

MyLimeGuide · 24/10/2025 20:40

You're not allowed to say that on mumsnet. They are not illegal (according to mumsnet)

They are not illegal according to the law.

PeonyPatch · 24/10/2025 20:55

As my last line says @EasternStandard - there is no arguing with stupid.

Yeh I got that was your line. It’s for the best you realise the arguments are faltering.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 24/10/2025 20:57

How can they check crimes in Afghanistan under the Taliban ...

It's a fair question, @easternstandard, but then how can they check the records of anyone if their documents have been disposed of and another identity assumed in their place?

PeonyPatch · 24/10/2025 20:57

F•cking hell. I’m certainly out. This thread is whipping up so much hatred. I ought to report it really.

Exactly what I posted @EasternStandard

Honestly this thread is whipping up hatred instead of any productive or meaningful discussion. It is a waste of my time now, so I am out. There’s no arguing with stupid.

Edited

As the famous MN saying goes, this is not an airport, you don’t need to announce your departure.

And the old trick to shut down debate by calling people racist and accusing them of ‘whipping up hate’ is overdone now. Try something new.

One week, three times Labour showed their true face.

Grooming gang victims walk out of the ‘inquiry that was’ saying they don’t trust Jess Phillips. The self styled champion of women’s right who likened the sexual assaults in Cologne on New Year’s Eve to a night out in Birmingham. Disgusting.

Migrant deported under ‘one in, one out, one back in’ scheme comes back on a small boat. So the scheme has actually increased the number of asylum seekers coming into the country. What a victory.

And now the guy responsible for Epping protests because he sexually assaulted a girl within days of arriving in the country walks out of prison within weeks of going in.

Just shows you batshit crazy some people are, trying to defend this government.

Edited

You do realise that 5 survivors of the grooming gang scandal are in favour of Jess Philips staying? That might mean that it is a complex situation and that the right wing press and Elon Musk who has been targeting her since Jan this year hate strong liberal women.

https://news.sky.com/story/pm-has-confidence-in-jess-phillips-after-grooming-survivors-demanded-her-resignation-13455771

  • Almost one in three women will experience domestic abuse, and sexual offences are at the highest level recorded.
  • One woman every four days in the UK is murdered by a partner or ex-partner.
  • More than 90% of perpetrators of rape and sexual assault are known to their victims.
  • One in two rapes against women are carried out by a partner or ex-partner.
  • One in three adult survivors of rape experiences it in their own home.
Source Rape Crisis centre England and Wales. They had to issue a statement because racists like to blame migrants for all sexual violence against women and politicising it for their own benefit.

In 2022, 77% of all males prosecuted for indictable offences were from the white ethnic group. source Uk Gov. It may have gone down very slightly since but not that much.
They don’t make differentiation between the types of crime committed. But if we look at the rape crisis statement we can infer that it’s mostly white men.

PM has 'confidence' in Jess Phillips after grooming survivors demanded her resignation

All four survivors who quit the government's grooming gangs inquiry panel said they will consider returning to the process if Jess Phillips resigns.

I don't think I was attacking, or insulting you at all.

You asked for an example of where you were wrong.

I gave it.

I've seen loads of threads on MN on male violence. We all know it's a massive problem.

This particular thread is about immigrants though not about white, British men. It's possible to talk about one group, without talking about the other.

No one is checked, it’s not possible with states as they are, they don’t give access to crime reports, if they even exist.

Starmer calls them illegal regularly on his SM. He's an ex human rights lawyer and former DPP. He should know.

Fluffyholeysocks · 24/10/2025 20:52

Because the 5% is 5% too many. It may be a faction of the 95% but its 5% we shouldn't have to tolerate

So we get rid of the 5% and just live with the 95%. Got it. I’m so glad people are doing all they can to protect women from 5% of something and letting the 95% just get on with it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Because these crimes would not have happened if the UK asylum system was working. Those little girls and women would not have been raped or killed if these men were not in the country.

Some nationalities commit some crimes at disproportionate rates to the native British, that should not be ignored or swept under the rug. It helps no one.

I'm far from a reform supporter as an immigrant myself, but this is just stupid. Unvetted criminal men should not be given an opportunity to be freely roaming the UK committing crime.

No, they'd have raped and killed in a different country, so different women would have suffered. I'm not sure that makes things better for the world overall.

PeonyPatch · 24/10/2025 21:00

So according to this thread, I am woke… I have a naive world view and I am traitorous. Nice balanced argument guys. Fellow women as well, phew…

So many words, such little substance. You cannot convince any rational person that a fake champion of women’s rights deserved any credibility who thinks that mass sexual assault event is like a fun night out. And that calling it out is some kind of dog whistle.

How can they check crimes in Afghanistan under the Taliban and why do Germany and ROI also have similar issues with similar male crimes on this level?

Well, it can't be done atm, because after Brexit, rights the UK had to systems to check were withdrawn. Did Reform neglect to mention that?

Yes, we have lots of home-grown rapists, murderers etc. All we can do is lock them up. We can’t deport them.

But we can and should be deporting people who come here asking for our help & protection then stick two fingers up at us. If this man had not been here, his victims would not be victims at all.

Not really. I blame the silly people who can’t use their brain cells to challenge some of their own prejudices. We live in a world where white is seen as superior, good, can do no wrong!

But your dad was ok, yes? Your dad wasn’t like them. He could have been in a hotel and been perfectly safe with local women?

In today’s climate he would be hounded out and branded as a rapist just because of where you came from. Or, was he one of the good immigrants (who people like Farage also want to send back, even if they’ve been given indefinite leave to remain)

Nobody is denying there are cultural issues about how women are treated in certain countries around the world, but the current weaponisation of violence against women for an entirely different aim isn’t to the benefit of anyone woman in the U.K.

It sounds like her dad didn't just abandon his female family members leaving them with even less male protection in a society that hates them though. He didn't just take off on his own without them.
