Is it me or is this all a bit sheepish - time for a new trend surely, ladies?!

What’s with all these posts recently where people are judging others on what they wear!!!! Thank god we all have different tastes. Focus on something more important!!!!

Unless people walk around with their eyes closed you can't help see teens coming out of their schools at the end of the day 🤔
I collect my daughter from her school and walk past a bus stop that will have dozens of teens from the nearby other 3 schools.
I'd close my eyes but I don't want to walk into a wall or get run over by a bus 😂

You've got your priorities all wrong you creep Grin
What's fatal injury or two when compared to the need to shield your eyes from teenagers at all times

And its got to be white Nike socks can’t just be any old socks

ThePoshUns · 21/10/2025 07:28

I’ve started doing the same , keeps your ankles warmer than trainer socks.

It's just idle chit chat. Keep your white Nike socks on

Humans have commented on what people wore since clothes were first invented. Fashions wouldn't exist it people didn't care what others thought of them

I'll tell you what keeps your ankles warm, leg warmers. Let's bring them back. I had a bright pink pair which I wore with neon orange shoes. Gotta love the 80's fashion, there were no uniforms, just Individuals.

I love it .Keeps my ankles warm unlike trainer socks which always slipped down.I wear leggings most days , as I do yoga most days .Practical and warm but I like how it looks too.I really don't like your use of the word 'ladies' though. It sounds patronising. And what would the new trend in socks be exactly?

I remember at primary school back in the 80s when we had no school uniforms and leg warmers were the fashion.
I have a memory of my teacher getting frustrated because a bunch of us ended up arguing after changing for PE over whose navy ones belonged to who because they were all similar but not exactly the same 😂

Punching down on young people is a sure sign of insecurity and rather sad in a mature adult. Do share with the thread all the fantastic style you wore as a teen and what a fashion icon you were.

Bit of an over reaction there.

Heh. Yes, I think we thought we were being so individual while in reality following the crowd.

cheddercherry · 21/10/2025 09:44

It’s far more tiresome that as women we can’t wear anything (god forbid something comfy/practical) without another women rolling their eyes and trying to bring us down like we’re somehow beneath her for wearing socks and leggings. Do better. Maybe put on some activewear, take some breaths and think less bitchy thoughts ?

Babybaby2025 · 21/10/2025 17:36

I follow this trend, I know its sheepish, I poke fun of myself for jumping on a bandwagon.

My defence (not that i need one) is that day to day, I just can't be bothered to think about outfits, and style, I'm not bothered about having an individual look. I have a tendency to resort to baggy, comfy clothes then get fed up that I look so frumpy and poorly put together, so i just want minimal effort while being somewhat trendy/flattering. The hoody/fleece, leggings, white logo socks and bulky trainers is an easy, and also very comfortable outfit to throw on, so I look exactly like everyone else, but I'm comfy and look neat, tidy and put together, so it works for me.
