Had them done a few years ago but they looked fucking horrendous so I had them dissolved. Never again.

Limpetrocks · 19/10/2025 20:52

No. It looks ridiculous. I was with my 5 year old the other day and he couldn’t stop pointing at this lady’s ludicrous lips from the other side of the cafe. Take a look in the mirror!

What a rude little boy you're raising. Evidently displaying perfect model behaviour by yourself. wouldn't want my child associating with another rude boy who thinks is ok to stare and point at people. Perhaps you should take a look in the mirror.

BackOnTheRodeo · 19/10/2025 21:02

I also highly doubt that event even happened. How would a 5 year old know if someone's had lip fillers or not. Or even care. I hope your charming little one doesn't point at disabled or vulnerable people too.

id be so embarrassed.

Gowlett · 19/10/2025 21:05

No. I already have quite desirable lips.
Good shape, still plump. Nice smile.

No, you can always tell. With naturally big lips, the edge of the lip sits flush against the skin around it. With fillers they curl upwards leaving raised skin around the lips and a moustache-like shadow.

And drop down on each side into the gum and teeth area (upper lip).

orangewasp · 19/10/2025 21:12

No, I'd rather spend my money on something more interesting. I don't think full lips are any better than thin lips, and overdone ones are worse. And I really don't care or give a second thought to what mine look like. Ditto botox and fillers.

Ihateboris · 19/10/2025 21:14

You can always tell from the side profile.

I wonder if I could ask how painful it is?

I've never had anything "done" but my lips have definitely got thinner with age.

It really hurts!

I do think sometimes women do have them really over done and I can’t lie they look scary to look at. I guess that is why really wanted to know the reasoning behind them.

Well the reason is obvious isn't it. The fashionable thing at the moment is big lips and people want to look nice and so get them done. In reality alot of them look ridiculous but they don't notice anymore because other people also have big lips

DramaAlpaca · 19/10/2025 21:27

I haven't had lip filler. I don't feel I need it, but I don't like the thought of injecting something unnecessary into my body so wouldn't ever do it anyway.

I've still got quite full lips in my early 60s, but they're no longer quite as full as when I was a teenager. Like others on here I used to get teased about them. Amazing how fashion changes, really.

Gowlett · 19/10/2025 21:31

It is just fashion, really, especially for youngsters.
When I were a chick, it was straightened hair & fake tan.

kiwiblue · 19/10/2025 21:41

Anyone watched the Victoria Beckham documentary on Netflix? From the side her top lip sticks out way further than the bottom, is that filler or something else? When she's talking to Eva Longoria, it's very noticeable.

ladygindiva · 19/10/2025 22:01

No but I'm fortunate to have been blessed with ridiculously fat lips which are now fashionable. I am considering botox on my deep 11s though.

BurntBroccoli · 19/10/2025 22:17

No - my lips are fine as they are.

Miserable1 · 19/10/2025 22:23

I had lip fillers 4 years ago. Basically I have smokers like lines around my mouth which I hate. I'm in my thirties and never smoked. I asked the Dr if I could have filler in the lines but he said not an advised filler in the vermilion border of my lips. I went to get it done and he started talking about injecting into my lips. I made it very clear it wasnt what I wanted but he reassured me.

I really didn't like the look, they weren't huge at all but I felt they looked off. Also they migrated under the bottom lip (see pic) but he tried saying they hadn't migrated at all.
Anyway, it's all gone now. I've considered getting them done again; a tiny 0.5ml. Not to make them look bigger as such but I feel they look wrinkly and are shrinking. However I'm too nervous.

No because it's the pornification of women. Do men do it? No ofcourse not.

@Greedybilly Thats a massive over generalisation.

I had it done to look like me following the effects that cancer treatment had on my lips.

It had nothing to do with creating over blown, blow up doll lips and nothing to do with how a man viewed me.

It was for me. To feel like me. And I will be having them done again.
