No. Never will. It’s the worse cosmetic procedure by far. And you can always always tell. Even the tiniest ‘lip flip’.

You absolutely can't always tell. I love it when this line gets trotted out 😂😂 you can always just tell bad filler.

I have it OP. No one noticed in my family. Chemo sucked the life out my face. Now I just look like I did before chemo.

Holluschickie · 19/10/2025 13:36

No.
It's really weird to me that things I was teased for when younger- full lips, dark skin, lots and lots of hair, thick eyebrows- are now aspirational if a different race does it.

Readyforslippers · 19/10/2025 13:39

No, I find faces more interesting when not messed with.

This reminds me of a thread a year or two ago about lip filler and someone posted their lips and everyone was like "yep- definitely lip fillers- you can totally tell because of blah blah blah" and the lips were completely natural (she even posted photos of her as a teen and they looked exactly the same).

Other people posted their lips and were told they had lovely natural lips and they were filled. So, no, all these people insisting you can "always tell" were wrong. It was very amusing.

Throwmoneyatit · 19/10/2025 13:39

Yes, I do.
Every 12-18 months. Naturally, I have a bigger lower lip and a very thin top lip so I have approx 0.5ml over the two lips.
Very unnoticeable, my lips don't look like a duck beak and I don't have a trout pout.
I have a fear of needles but manage to sit for the 10 mins it takes, plus lots of numbing cream!
Costs roughly £120.

SALaw · 19/10/2025 13:41

Oh my goodness a young person currently competing on a big tv show looks like she’s about 47 due to the things she’s done to her, clearly naturally pretty, face, including laughable lip fillers. Don’t do it guys!

I8toys · 19/10/2025 13:43

Absolutely not. I went to Stockholm recently and saw lots of lovely seemingly untouched faces. Came back into Manchester airport and saw the fillers and botoxed faces. It was very jarring. We seem to be becoming a nation of tweakments.

soyourtimehascome · 19/10/2025 13:47

It’s a hard no from me. They look stupid and I will judge you as being stupidly vain. Who has time to wonder about their lips to the extent that they will pay for weird shit to be put in them to make them bigger?! Who fucking CARES?!
I hate the world that this is a thing

OMG you legend!! that thread was so funny

Holluschickie · 19/10/2025 13:50

I definitely can't always tell. But I can tell on TV if I am staring at someone's face fir ages. Like The Apprentice contestants who all look identical.

I think this is probably true, you notice the bad, overfilled lips. Someone earlier on the this thread posted a pic of filled lips and they look nice and i wouldn’t be able to tell. As I near 50yo im considering it just to try and get my lips looking less thin, more like what they were ten years ago. I don’t want duck lips for sure.

Can you tell from the side? I can always tell when someone has lip fillers from a side profile view, no matter how small. It's a different shape to normal.

Greedybilly · 19/10/2025 14:05

No because it's the pornification of women. Do men do it? No ofcourse not.

teacupzs · 19/10/2025 14:10

How come so many Hollywood celebs are obvious?

teacupzs · 19/10/2025 14:12

Much harder to tell in a photo though vs in motion in real life.

Hellohelga · 19/10/2025 14:19

Never. You can always tell and I think they look awful.

Hohumdedum · 19/10/2025 14:20

Ew, no, it's painful even to imagine it and I really don't like the little ridge it seems to give people. Definitely prefer the natural look here.

ConnieHeart · 19/10/2025 14:27

LittleMoreLegAction · 19/10/2025 12:19

But strangers might notice? Esp those with experience in the field, either as a professional or someone who has had it.

So what? Hairdressers will no doubt know that I have my roots done & beauticians would know that I do my own manicure & polish. And they probably wouldn't care

whataweekImhaving · 19/10/2025 14:28

No. I have a full bottom lip but a very thin top lip.

I just couldn’t get fillers though. I see so many dreadful ones about, including the really tight, painful ones that look like they are going to burst and you can still see the needle holes Blush

I used wonderskin lip stain stuff to slightly over line the top lip and that makes a bit of a difference to me.

BastardtheCat · 19/10/2025 14:53

Roasty · 19/10/2025 09:25

Yes. Not sore, I had no lips - now I do. I look normal. I hold down a professional job. I’m a very sensible, educated, married mother of two.

Apart from you, has anyone else noticed that they’re done?

PembeGreyfurt · 19/10/2025 14:56

No.

Roasty · 19/10/2025 15:26

@BastardtheCat

I don’t know, my mother is a huge critic of mine - almost everything gets commented on negatively and she’s never said anything about them. My husband says you wouldn’t know but he’s probably used to them by now.

I do understand the temptation to go bigger. Like a PP said, you think “ok, I’ve had x-ml done and I look soo much better.. if I double the amount, I’ll look doubly as good.” Grin My dentist wouldn’t do it, he has said that he refuses to make people look ridiculous and his professional reputation is worth more to him than x amount of money. I respect that.

I can admit I feel sad about my “fading looks” - I’m not young, and I’m not old. I am in between, I’ve spent the last 11 years dedicating myself to my children and it very much looks like it.

No it's not. And it's offensive to say that. As I said above thread, I had gruelling rounds of chemotherapy at 23. It sapped every ounce of volume from my face.

I only 'put back' what I 'lost' and look no different now to when I did pre chemo. I have uploaded before and afters on previous threads before.

I am not doing it due to pornification. I do not look like a prostitute, a duck, cheap, chavvy, like a blow up doll and every other misogynistic name mentioned on this thread.

the ones shouting all these vile names to the likes of people like me are the ones making us step back in time. Not us individuals having treatments we want and can afford.

we are also not responsible for safe guarding your children against wanting to have things done as they get older.

HTH.

Hallywally · 19/10/2025 20:43

No because I’ve always had thin lips & I’ve only had “work” done which IMO makes me look like a fresher, less knackered, brighter version of me. I’m not interested in changing my actual facial features.
