Yes but I haven’t had them done for almost 3 years now so they are about 90% back to normal now and I look better without them.

welcometotheblackparadee · 19/10/2025 11:06

I get mine done approx once a year. 0.8-1ml each time.

And yes, they do make them noticeably bigger. Doesn’t mean it makes them look bad and, to be quite frank, don’t give a fuck if other people think they’re “too big” because I like how my face looks with them done.

teacupzs · 19/10/2025 11:06

No. I’m not judgemental about it though. I find the way that some women judge other women to be really sad. There is so much judgement on MN about women who have procedures or who care about their appearance.

Are they judgemental of women who do procedures or society that says women should do it?

I find it disturbing that so many young girls feel it's necessary

Yabayabadoo · 19/10/2025 11:07

No way. A friend recently had 0.5 in upper lip with reputable Doc from the side it was v apparent as jutted out. She won’t be having it done and there is nothing natural looking about the procedure

Parker231 · 19/10/2025 11:08

No - never will

Lbet · 19/10/2025 11:08

SeaAndStars · 19/10/2025 10:31

I suppose they're not having them done for you.

Didn’t say they were.

That’s fair enough.

No and I never would. I don't need them, they look dreadful on most people I've seen and I don't like unnecessary pain.

DirtyBird · 19/10/2025 11:11

No but I wish I did. I’m mid 50s and my lips have gotten thinner and I hate it. But can’t afford fillers so I will have to unfortunately live with it.

Mademetoxic · 19/10/2025 11:12

Seeingadistance · 19/10/2025 10:06

This.

Sone are more subtle than others but to say no one notices is like thinking no-one would notice you’re wearing clothes if they happen to be the same colour as your skin.

👏 side point of view - always noticeable no matter how small they seem to be! They give the person a weird shape lip from the side hahaha.

HelenSkeleton · 19/10/2025 11:14

Roasty · 19/10/2025 09:36

@YourPeppyAmberTraybakethank you.

I get a little bit - 0.5ml, done every two years by my dentist. As you can see, I am not chasing the puffed up adult entertainer look. Breastfeeding caused me a lot of weight loss and my face took a hammering. You’ll notice my severe nasolabial folds, which annoy me beyond measure - however, I will not touch them. I am generally happy with how I look, maybe some people can tell.. I don’t care. I really don’t.

My children tell me I’m pretty, my husband loves me. I don’t make babies cry in the street.

All I will say next, is if you’re considering doing anything to your face, please go to a doctor or a dentist. This is your face, you only get one. Leave the eyebrow threading and lash lifts for the beauty therapists.

Oh, and my lips cost £350 but again, done by a highly qualified dentist.

You look great. Most women don't though, they look comedy. If I'd met you in the street I'd never think you'd had a procedure.

Clonakilla · 19/10/2025 11:14

I can’t belive people will happily post they are ‘disgusted’ or repulsed etc or that they ‘look like porn stars’ on a thread where a woman has already posted a photo that looks perfectly nice and that makes her happy.

really? It’s staggeringly rude.

Personally I’d be concerned if I were disgusted by other women. I’d need to start thinking about just how far my internalised misogyny had gone.

To answer the OP - no, I don’t have any.

HelenSkeleton · 19/10/2025 11:18

Calcaata · 19/10/2025 09:36

🙄 oh my god.

OP if you want your lips done. Do it. If it doesn’t interest you then don’t.

The weird judgment on this forum is off the scale.

I think it's less judgemental and more puzzlement why some women want to make themselves look like jokes to follow the herd from cheap reality TV.

At least two women on this thread have talked about their experience and given considered reasons why they had it done. A lot won't even know why, except for everyone is doing it, guys like it (most don't actually), such and such influencer has it.

MoominMai · 19/10/2025 11:23

Lbet · 19/10/2025 10:19

Thanks for replying though even though you don’t see the point😜

I mean you didn’t really articulate the point of your thread very well though did you? Just an abrupt ‘do you have lip fillers’ so not sure why you’re so pleased with yourself that the PP didn’t get the point when you didn’t even explain ‘the point’.

It seems you have no point other than to childishly say ‘wow don’t some women look so ‘scary’ with their lip filler’ and ‘I wonder why’ when it’s obvious why. Beauty is subjective but if you get off on starting these pointless threads you do you boo 🙄.

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/10/2025 11:26

I havent as I have full lips. However they are getting a bit thinner with age and if it continues I will likely get a little put in the top to get them back the way they were. I give no fucks about it - I genuinely don’t get the hate on here for it, each to their own surely. I personally don’t like the overdone/over-full look but again, it’s each to their own.

slashlover · 19/10/2025 11:27

Lbet · 19/10/2025 09:12

Hi, it’s just something I have always wanted to know but don’t know anyone who has their lips done to ask. Just would like to know the reasoning behind it has it seems to have become so common now.

Why would you not just asking that in your opening post then?

lobsterkiller · 19/10/2025 11:29

No filler, but I do have a lip flip (botox) it's so subtle only I notice and that's all I care about. I'm in my 50s and lips do get thinner as we age.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 19/10/2025 11:30

ConnieHeart · 19/10/2025 09:29

I have s lip blush, so not a filler as such but a semi permanent lip liner & lipstick

I love it, gives my face a bit of colour & still going strong after 2.5 years

Edited

@ConnieHeart

Ooh, can I ask where you had this done? I have the palest lips and look so much better with lipstick, but it is a faff.

MagicLoop · 19/10/2025 11:30

It's a typical MN 'derision poorly disguised as naïve curiosity' thread. There are gazillions of them. Wide-eyed OP saying 'Oh but I don't understand and I'm really, really curious. No judgement, obviously! If only someone could explain...', when all they actually want is to get everyone to join them in bitching about people they think have inferior taste. And hopefully attract some of the posters who actually have that thing, so they can ask them disingenuous questions about it.

I wouldn't have lip fillers, but there's no need to be an arse about it.

Why do people like yourselves post on threads you seem to think have no point? Why not just close the post down and get on with your day rather than making useless comments.

Well yeah but if someone has very thin lips then they might think that's a price worth paying for looking better overall, if thin lips don't suit them.

Having full duck lips done is clearly mad, but it's a matter of degree.

Jujujudo · 19/10/2025 11:35

YourPeppyAmberTraybake · 19/10/2025 09:06

Yes, I’m mid 50’s and now have nearly normal sized lips (still small) compared with virtually no top lip.
How about you OP?

I’ve also got a disappearing top lip due to my age - do you get it done just on the top one?

No. Facially I’m low maintenance and happy to be so. I do spend a lot on my six weekly hair cut and colour though.

There’s a before and after.

Ah sorry I missed this pic earlier just went back to have a look when another poster mentioned it.

I have to say your lips looking stunning and very natural.
