Neighbour parking issues..again

Had ongoing issues with neighbours inconsiderate parking. Just as that seems to have resolved, we now have ANOTHER knob head parker. This guy doesn't live on our estate but has started parking his huge van and trailer on the road into our street. He also has 2 cars and a jeep which he said he parks in our neighbourhood as its safer than where he lives several streets away. I totally get this but he is taking up all the parking spaces in our little area and it's causing real issues. Now he said he is going to start parking his other huge industrial vehicle with a trailer on the road at the side of our house for at least 6 months. It's a monstrosity and it'll be there all over Christmas and new year when we have friends and family visiting. I am devastated, we worked hard to move into our little estate and now it looks like a shit hole. I know he isn't doing anything illegal but im still gutted...myself and another neighbour estimated that he is taking up 11 parking spaces. Am I just being a dick to be upset by this?

How big is the vehicle? I think if it’s over 7.5 tonnes then needs an operators license and a yard where vehicle is to be stored. You can report to traffic commission but I don’t know if it’s enforced but possibly if has no yard due to being kicked out it’s a breach.

Personally I’d consider buying a trailer or two and busing those to break up the pagg rig king spaces you could purchase second hand cheaply. And get a wheel lock.

How old are the houses you live in?

Where I live (new-ish estate/under 20 yrs) we have restrictions in our deeds about no commercial vehicles. Just a thought.

So do we but that doesn’t stop all of the morons who live here parking their vans here there and everywhere. Our management company can’t do anything about it apparently!

Thank you everyone yor your suggestions and kind words. I think generally this is a problem which is getting out of hand. I live in a large village and people from out of the area are also parking their vans and commercial vehicles here. I went for a walk round the village the other day and I was shocked at how many vehicles, many if which were large vans and lorries were blocking paths and walkways to the point I had to divert my walk a couple of times because the paths were unpassable. Although im certain theres nothing illegal about most of this, i Feel quite sad about it x

@Ereerenownow
Take photos and compile a record of it and take it to your local council/councillor. Obstructing pavements and narrowing roads with big vehicles is anti-social, damaging and is absolute CFery.
I now have some stickers that say things like "I park like a t**t" and stick them on the rear of the vehicles normally on the brand badge - I never put them on the lights, windows, paintwork or plates before anyone admonishes me for potential damage. It does indeed make me feel a bit better!

Is it a lorry with an operators licence or a Luton van?

There is thing down the streets here that between 6pm to 8am daily nothing other than cars can park here - that includes a corsa van which is the same size as a corsa car - but it works nothing other than a car.

operaters licences need somewhere to park overnight - not outside in residential street - a designated yard - as part of their conditions

Try and lobby the council for parking restrictions or residents permits if it is getting dangerous and out of hand.
