Since when is it ok to victim blame and penalise people who have done nothing wrong? Surely the right course of action would be either to ban ALL fans of both sides or better police the event?

Ajax is a predominately Jewish club/ has Jewish leanings. There was lots of evidence on telegram etc that it was not a hooliganism situation but a targeting of fans specifically because of where they came from.

I do not think a minority behaved well but much like other fans they could be banned from travelling.

But the ban isnt to protect people who live in Birmingham. The ban is due to the police and authorities stating they can't guarantee the safety of the Tel Aviv fans from the locals, and probably the pro palestinian mob potentially bused in from other areas. Thats why there is controversy about the decision. We cant have certain communities trying to dictate who the UK should or should not let in.

No. They're more than welcome to fly their flag in their own country. Not here though. It's meant to intimidate the Jewish community - why else would people who don't live in Gaza want to fly the flag here? And we have been put in a similar position to what you describe. Where we are being discouraged from flying our flag due to apparently negative connotations.

No. We’re the UK. So clearly should be able to fly our flag. Regardless. But other flags representing other countries should not be allowed to be flown here when their agenda is to intimidate another section of the community. It’s bringing a war to the UK that’s not ours.

I am old enough to remember Heysel, Hillsborough, the Bradford stadium fire, and not just through newspaper clippings or documentaries.
Actually watching them unfold on the tv as they happened. I can remember seeing the wall fall and the faces pressed up against the wire whilst the upper tiers were trying to lift people out.

I can remember the running battles with the police that the hooligans had every weekend, the scenes of injured police, bystanders and the wreckage of town and city centres.

We need to do all that we can to stop this from happening in our towns and cities.

If that means banning racist thugs then so be it.

But remember, for all the 'Oh they are just innocent football fans' BS, what you actually have are two groups of racists thugs that just want to damage each other and they don't give a shit who or what gets in the way.
