He's free to sue the publishers.

He won't sue them because he cannot provide any evidence that the allegations aren't true. He even goes as far as saying he never met her despite evidence to the contrary. The sad fact of it though is that so many of the people involved are rich enough and connected enough that it's unlikely the full facts will ever come out.

I'm no lawyer, but traditionally, it's up to the accuser to prove their accusations, not the accused to clear themselves.

It will all be brushed under the carpet. He might get a small punishment like not being allowed to attend royal Christmas dinner but apart from that it’s “nothing to see here. Never explain, never complain”. The same happened with his great uncle, Mountbatten (see link). The young boys in Kincora Care Home were treated abominably by the establishment. No, it would be up to the publisher to come up with a defence. Which might include that it's true or that it's fair comment on a matter of public interest.

Whatever - there's no way Andrew will want that all aired in court so it won't happen.

I badly worded it, I mean he won't sue because he won't want to draw attention to the fact that he has no defence. I meant the term defence in a general context rather than the legal one.

He's a total fuckwit. Corrupt and sleazy as hell and was absolutely his mother's golden child. For her I think the sun shone out of his arse and although she had to go into damage limitation mode at times, he could still do no wrong.

I hope the royal family continues to keep him at arm's length and out of the public eye as much as possible, and so far they are doing that. If they don't then they would be no better than he is.

I do have some sympathy for the King and for William, who will have to contend with his fuck ups and the consequences for a long time to come. They've inherited this problem, both from the late Queen and from the arsehole Andrew himself. I don't think there is a real solution to it, apart from trying to keep him as quiet as possible and limiting the voice he gets.

Personally, I do think that he should be stripped of all of his remaining titles (HRH, Duke of York etc.). I doubt he will be though.

Why would he sue the publisher, even he thought it was defamatory? All the claim would be is another washing of dirty linen in the public arena when presumably what he wants is for this stuff to all go away. It makes far more sense to let the book be published, for there to be headlines for a couple of weeks, and then the vast majority of people move on and it becomes yesterday’s news.

What a repugnant man. To mention his daughters whilst having the intention of molesting that poor girl and not seeing the irony of it ! How can any parent be friends with a convicted paedophile . His ex wife is no better: a patron of children’s charities and friends with Epstein !!! That family live by different rules than the rest of us. They are morally corrupt. Charles was recently trying to bring them back into the fold and pulling the wool over our eyes. He is also an entitled selfish man. I remember him taking Diana and the newly born Harry home from hospital and then driving off to meet Mrs Parker Bowles.
