To now be increasingly concerned about illegal boat arrivals

I've kept a level head with boat crossing arrivals but recently I've become concerned that there are some really unpleasant people being let in. This story was hard to watch on the news this evening;

I welcome genuine asylum but I don't believe that is what is happening anymore.
The story immediately before the above on national news this evening was the migrant who had threatened Nigel Farrage. I know Nigel is not the most popular of people but the migrant was horrid, clearly dangerous and not safe to be on our streets.
Financial cost and all other factors aside, it's the safety aspect that worry me most.

Agreed - stricter controls, stricter vetting, and faster processing. Also MUCH IMPROVED SECURITY at asylum centres ffs. I was mortified to see such a lack of security in the case of Rhiannon!!! Unforgivable.

They've just said on the BBC News that the migrant whose sexual assaults sparked the hotel protests in Epping has been accidentally released and is currently whereabouts unknown. Last seen boarding a train for London. The ineptitude and lack of concern for women's safety is astounding.

You can care about women and girls without being a racist and a bigot though. There are many, many misogynistic and sexist violent acts against women and girls that are carried out by white men every day. In fact, most of them are partners or family members. I think we need to be careful we don’t form a bias against a particular race or ethnicity.

Our incompetent asylum system is putting women and girls at risk. This is surely now beyond dispute.

I think it’s putting many things at risk, like our economy as well to be honest. I agree that it needs urgent overhaul, but to jump on this “keep our women and girls safe” rhetoric feels to me like it has an undercurrent of racism or xenophobia.

We have a violence against women and girls (vawg) epidemic, but to suggest that it’s only carried out by asylum seekers is inaccurate and irresponsible. It’s conflating two separate problems.

VAWG is a male problem and it spans across a wide range of ages, races and nationalities!
