I'd forgotten the details of the case, but I can't imagine being so obsessed with someone I'd offer them my child to sexually abuse. Something very wrong with those women. I didn't realise there was another woman who kept reporting him and was ignored by the police.

He was there in the 90s and the 2000s and left when prison officer contacts and everything were changed and people looking after cat A prisoners were paid barely anything and didn't stay in the role for long. It's a prison with awful conditions now due to the constant budget cuts over the last 15 years.

With more resources and more experienced staff it would have been much easier to protect prisoners from each other in 1992. And unfortunately more protection for prison officers too. No one is going to shed any tears about Ian Watkins being stabbed because he was a depraved human but prisoners should be safe in prisons.

I thought child abusers were usually housed alone for their own safety.

I thought that a "regular" inmate must have done this, having found a way to get to him. Because why would someone who'd done the same crime slit Watkins' throat? Surely it's much more likely that the killer is not a child abuser?

Don’t care about Watkins but I’m sure the prisoner that did it is no hero.
I definitely wouldn’t want to shake their hand, or anything like that.

Read the court documents linked to on here. I don’t want to have to describe what he did to that baby but if you think it “doesn’t seem like he did” and only plotted it, then read those court documents.

Oh god, I’m not sure if I can. Thanks for responding/clarifying though. Not sure where these court docs are… it’s one of the worst cases of padophilia I’ve ever come across. Crazy to think he was a lead singer of a band. Such cognitive dissonance.

God realised I can’t spell….profits 🙈 I read about everything he did when it was first in the news I think….wish I hadn’t had to remember it again it’s so horrendous and just the fact that a mother could facilitate this…it just makes me feel so sad and awful. It’s good news that this has happened I have to say, but remembering the crimes he commited and the level of abuse I just don’t feel like cracking open the champagne. Those poor children

I've always heard that paedophiles are housed together in the same wing, separate from the prisoners who are not child abusers.

So as far as I'm aware, child abusers are not by themselves, in solitary confinement, but housed with fellow child abusers.

That's why I think it's a very good possibility that the murderer is a child abuser themselves.

They could have a reason for it that's unrelated to his offences. Watkins was apparently attacked two years ago in prison and it was due to a drug debt and something to do with the ladies who were visiting him - nothing to do with him being a paedophile.

It's possible that this could be a similar scenario. His killer could be a paedophile and so their motive may not be outrage at Watkins' crimes.
