When Jewish people are being attacked and murdered on their way to synagogue on Yom Kippur

When you literally can’t move or look in any direction without Palestine Palestine Palestine in our faces

On the eve of the anniversary of the worst atrocity committed against Jewish people since the Holocaust, a small, unobtrusive memorial for the victims of that unthinkable, barbaric attack was destroyed yesterday by a despicable woman who turned up with scissors and cut the ribbons down, one by one.

Ribbons for women and girls who were raped and murdered.
Ribbons for babies ripped from their parents’ arms and slaughtered.
Ribbons for men beaten to death.
Ribbons for the hostages still suffering every moment.

And this disgusting individual took it upon herself to come along with a pair of scissors and cut each one away. Her excuse? They “condone genocide”.

Let’s not pretend for a moment that that was her true motivation. It was a revolting demonstration of the antisemitism that has become so shamefully rife in this country that it sickens me.

This woman needs to be named and shamed for the loathsome person she is.

I found that pretty shocking. She defiled a memorial and then got a nice soft BBC interview where she was allowed to justify why she did it.

Surely this is the only imaginable circumstance in which a person who has destroyed a memorial to a minority is then sympathetically interviewed by the BBC.

It’s getting to the point where I’m weirded out by how much attention this woman is getting. There have been five separate articles about her in the Times (not including the ones when they didn’t know her name).

Rightly or wrongly, Tommy Robinson has a pretty huge following and has recently led a demonstration at the Houses of Parliament. This is some woman in Muswell Hill who appears to have done nothing very interesting except cut down some ribbons. Even if she is offering to speak to papers (because a load of people around her are avoiding her), why are they agreeing to interview her?

Perhaps I haven’t made myself clear - I am really appalled by this woman (as I am by those who tore down posters of hostages). But there’s so much I see on the pro Palestine campaign that I am appalled by - so why this woman in particular? Is it that she does a wanky PHD? Or that her husband is an unemployed clown?

A lot of the rage against the support for Palestinian marchers is bollocks. I would not dream of cutting down ribbons for the poor Israeli hostages, or posters. I would try to stop others doing so. That doesn’t stop me having huge sympathy for Palestinians, and hating the behaviour of the Israeli regime.

I don’t know (obviously) but I suspect that he:

• told Hamas that unless they returned the hostages and laid down arms, he would bomb Gaza until nothing was left; and
• told Israel that unless there was a ceasefire and some Palestinian prisoners were returned, he would withdraw all US support (and bomb Gaza, killing the hostages).

Both would have believed him because he meant it at the time.

It was the Arab states that put pressure on the US to restrain Netanyahu after Israel bombed Qatar on 9 September. The Arab states questioned the value of their alliances with the US given that Israel depends on US support. Trump is trying to take all the credit but he acted under pressure. He could have ended the fighting long ago.

I think with Hamas, Qatar and Turkey had had enough as well as they are the ones who can put pressure on their pals in Hamas.
