My thoughts are with the Jewish community on the second anniversary of this barbaric attack.

Thoughts with the Jewish community and all the others, Israeli and non Israelis who lost loved ones on 7th October. I hope the remaining hostages are returned to their families and I hope the region finds peace.

I was reading about a young Arab Israeli who died trying to help a mother and 2 girls whose father had been shot whilst trying to get them away. He and the mother were killed but they managed to hide the two little girls. A man who left his shelter and went to wait on his couch hoping to convince Hamas he lived alone so the lives of his family would be spared (it worked god bless him). There is a lot of good out there in the world alongside the savagery and it can be found in anyone, anywhere. I think on such a dark day the bravery of so many should also be remembered.

I’m not saying I HOPE it doesn’t end!

Eh?

Eh?

I’m saying I think it’s very sad that there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight for any of this. Certainly not wishing for another year of Israeli hostages still in Gaza and Palestinian civilians being killed!

nomas · 07/10/2025 20:59

None of that means gay people shouldn’t support the people of Palestine.

It’s a bit simplistic to say they should support Israel because they have gay pride.

You are completely tone death here.

No, gay people should not be supporting a regime that would murder them for being gay. You seem to have trouble with basic comprehension. Do you have difficulty processing information that we should be aware of?

You should not be on this thread if you cannot be compassionate either.

Ah ok.

Apologies, I thought you were implying you were sick of people remembering the victims.

The story of the girls (toddler and a baby in this case) is absolutely heartbreaking.

The mother told them to hide under a blanket in the backseat, before she was murdered. The Hamas terrorists didn't see the children.

A police officer found the children, and his body worn camera shows the girl begging for her life thinking he is a Hamas terrorist. When he says he is Israeli, she asks him to take her and her baby sister and save them.

No child should have to hide from terrorists or have to beg for their life.

It’s not your place to decide who gay people can support.

I’m ignoring your goady insults. Yes, the thread is for compassion, not Islamophobia, so rein it in.

It is certainly not your right

There is no Islamophobia here.

Go away if you cannot show compassion. People who celebrate terrorists are not welcome here.

I’m not the one telling gay people who they should report.

I have shown compassion, but that doesn’t mean keeping silent when people derail into Islamophobia, so you go away with your divisiveness and insults.

fuckhimintheear · 07/10/2025 21:35

I don’t understand this thread. Are you all in support of Israel and against Palestinians? Or just mourning the loss of life at the festival Shani Loak attended?

Oh do go away.

I have no time for people like you.

Do you condemn Hamas, and their atrocities without reservation?

Do you understand that people are mourning the victims of a terrorist attack today?

Your comment are completely tone death, and snow a complete lack of compassion and humanity.

Kittlewittle · 07/10/2025 21:40

Squealing 'Islamophobia' like some sort of get out of jail free card will not get you anywhere. People see through that.

Does compassion and humanity mean people should be allowed to say whatever they want without being challenged?

All you’ve done is insult people. I won’t be posting to you anymore so you can go ‘squeal’ to someone else.

I do have compassion for the Jewish community, please do not assume

Nope, you used this thread simply to rant about Gaza... which is not the point of a commemorative thread at all.

The clue's on the title, which may be why those who try to turn every thread into their own simplistic, goody/baddy hobby horse are attracting resentment

I honestly don't know why people engage ...

I agree, it’s shameful.

Not the time or the place.

Please don't, and remember this is not the place for insensitive comments, when people are grieving.

You have rightly been called out on that.

I note that you will not condemn Hamas, or their atrocities, which tells me all I need to know about you.

Bye

You don’t get to insult people and then question them.

You can’t name a single insensitive comment I’ve made, but I can list your insults to me, which tells me all I need to know about you.

Why don’t you show some sensitivity and leave it be now instead of having a go at her when she is obviously upset.

You haven't been insulted. You don't like being, quite correctly, challenged on your vile views.

Please take them elsewhere. Terrorist supporters are not welcome here. You have refused to condemn Hamas.

Which view was vile? Why are you making things up? Here are your insults to me. You’ve derailed and insulted with zero reason and yet you still expect me to engage with you?

You seem to have trouble with basic comprehension.

I was happy to leave it, then she stepped up the insults.

I’m still happy to leave it.

My thoughts are with all communities involved here, may the hostages be released, may the genocide cease, may the people of the occupied and decimated Palestinian territories be allowed to rebuild their lives so that they are given equal access (as Israelis) to at least basic amenities, may Israel be governed by people with compassion, diplomacy and the desire to resolve this situation for all involved
