Jews leaving the UK

Ihatetomatoes · 06/10/2025 10:42

I dont blame them. I would if I were Jewish.

They have been failed by their country, which is the UK. I wish them well and hope the UK can sort its anti semitism problems so it becomes safe for Jewish people again.

You are not saying my own words back to me, you are creating overly emotive questions based on facts I have shared in my post to create the impression that I am being extreme, unreasonable and, of course, anti semitic. As I said - independent bodies made up of highly educated and experienced individuals with direct access and knowledge of the situation in Gaza have decided that Israel is committing war crimes and committing a genocide. Many countries have agreed. We all have access to information regarding Israeli actions in Gaza. That is why the general public opinion in Britain and Europe and the rest of the world is against Israel. It is rather delusional to expect to be liked if you, having access to the same information as everybody else, decide your support lies with those committing said war crimes and genocide and not the innocent victims of this. And to answer one of your silly, emotive questions - who has been directly and negatively affected by your views is the Palestinian people as the reason that Israel has been able to continue this for 2 years is because of people with the same views as yours claiming there is some justification and honourability in Israel’s actions and anyone who dares to stand against them is anti semitic. The continued lies, gaslighting, manipulation of the public by Israel and its supporters have much further reaching and long lasting negative consequences for Palestinian people and stability of the wider region and indeed the world than my view that Palestinians deserve to not have their children murdered or maimed, have their hospitals, schools, homes destroyed and all the other unimaginable evils that Israel is purposely inflicting on innocent civilians. Can you take a step back and think about what it is that you’re really supporting and which one of us is the one with extreme and unpleasant views?

Youve answered none of mine so I'll do you the same courtesy.

This is thread about how uncomfortable with the rise of antisemitism in the UK some Jewish people are. You're chronically unable to keep to that subject.

How has anyone in Palestine been impacted by my views? They dont know I exist. They don't know you exist either. The Jewish people feeling unwelcome in our country are point here, not you or I. In fact, you dont even know what my views are, because this thread isnt about my views on Palestine. Its about how Jewish people in the UK feel. And you've made yourself clear about that.

Continuing to post in the way you are today, in particular what you've said about the IDF not attacking Hamas, and about how everyone who supports Israel deserves to be disliked, is unbelievably disrespectful on today of all days. I won't be responding to you further in the hope you'll show some respect and pipe down.

Firstly, the right to protest I support as a notion and you can go on a march and be heard or go on online forums. But when it is repetitive and incites hate towards a minority and costs us as tax payers thousands and thousands and means real criminals get off - no, I do not support it. And I believe the British public generally agrees with me.

We can believe Hamas are terrorists who have hidden in tunnels deliberately and are using innocent civilians as human shields and can believe Hamas needs to go. We can also believe that Israel has a right wing Government that also needs changing and we can also believe that innocent children should not be dying and that all the countries locally to Israel should be supporting the Palestinians innocent civilians caught up in these atrocities. We can then separate that Jewish people here need protecting from haters who are too dumb to see the differences and we can also be middle ground and still believe that a democracy necessitates the right to protest. But we can simultaneously believe that repetitive protesters can be agitators and get a file on them. And you may not be so lucky with future Governments. There is a line even in a democracy. And I support a Government enforcing a reasonable line. If you start listening to what they have been hinting at in the last few days, you will hear the line.

Well said.

Do you mean it's happening in Scotland too, Purple? I'm way north but not as north as you iyswim and haven't seen any anti-Semitism, but it's very rural here. People are too busy worrying about storms and sheep. It really is horrible, and frightening.

I’m rural Scotland much further north than purple and like purple we have had swatstikas graffiti on road signs etc various hate comments.
the hatred is not just a London thing.

Yes very true. In Europe there has been an orchestrated anti Islam / anti immigration rhetoric in the media and government for decades with Israeli backing. It’s very helpful for Israel to have people fearful of Muslims and viewing them all as terrorists. And we see they continue the same BS now with ‘see what Islamic terrorism we have to deal with? Could be you next if we don’t slaughter the entirety of the Palestinian population (sorry, Hamas)’

So if Jews in the UK experience hostility it’s because of what some other Jews in an entirely different country are doing, but if Muslims in the UK experience hostility it’s also because of those Jews in an entirely different country? Got it.

But if you were to join the IRA with the great hunger as your justification that would be about revenge.

Jewish people train to defend their homeland from future threat, one which has always been pretty severe from all angles.

your comparison is like Isreal bombing the shit out of Germany because they’re still traumatised and and vengeful.

I'm confused, is the current situation in Gaza protecting the homeland? Because you're right, it's be like me joining the ra and deciding to take Sweden maybe. Which if I did wouldn't be self defence

I don’t think it’s “my view” that the man accidentally killed by police was not murdered for being Jewish.

I think that’s simply the view. I was clarifying in case there were three deaths of which two were murdered.

Fucking hell

Jujujudo · 07/10/2025 12:03

Lifecanbebeautiful12 · 07/10/2025 09:03

Well, that is really the point isn’t it? The IDF are not attacking Hamas, they are attacking civilians and targeting infrastructure. That is why Israel’s attacks in Gaza are, legally, war crimes and a genocide.

Tropes lies and propaganda. In other words utter crap. You are repeating propaganda. Brainwashed. I’d call you innocent but you can’t convince someone of false truths unless they’re already willing to believe them. Boy are you lot in for a shock when the actual truth comes out!

The difference between the genocide in Palestine and others is that the Palistinians simply cannot leave.

They could leave. But none of the surrounding arab nations want to let them in. I bet you didn’t know that Egypt has an 8 mile border with Gaza. Also, if the handed the hostages back their self-manufactured and created genocide that isn’t a genocide would end. You’re all blinded by the bullshit. There is no difference whatsoever between the people on here swallowing Hamas propaganda whole and the Germans in 1936 swallowing Nazi propaganda. Same methods, same techniques and same eventual outcome.

You have nothing to lose. The Jews have had to fight against propaganda, scapegoating, vilification, extermination and they’re still fighting. There are less Jews today than there were in 1936. Israel is the only Jewish country on earth and is home to many other faiths and puts all the other Middle Eastern counties to shame. You may think it’s all “ridiculous” from your judgemental brainwashed privileged position but lies are lies. You can’t make stuff up and peddle them as truths and I’ll call lies out because I have a voice, unlike my ancestors in 1936. This thread, your comments and many others are shameful and horrifying and borderline inhumane. Thank god the Jews now have Israel to run to, away from the horror of terror denial, justification of our deaths. Am yisrael chai. Never again.

I think it's London where Jews are being harassed, I haven't heard of it in other parts of the country (but others may know differently?). It's appalling, these poor families have nothing to do with the situation in Israel, and their personal views are their own business.

Yes I think that is generally the case, which is a huge shame as when I lived previously in areas with a high ethnic minority and Muslim population, including London being Jewish was never a big issue. We even used to joke as children how basically ‘ironic’ it was that if we lived thousands of miles away we’d be arch enemies, because we lived in the UK our religions seemed irrelevant to each other and in the wider community. I think however their parents were the generation that just wanted to come here and assimilate it seemed at the time. Now the whole mix of identity politics, toxic propaganda through social media and I wonder also the huge recent influx from virulently antisemitic countries has sadly brought these distant issues to our door step. As someone who is indigenously British, it does seem a shame when people who have been welcomed and given opportunities, power and influence in the country my grandparents and great grandparents fought for now turn against us and even more so end up forcing Jewish people to go and seek refuge elsewhere.

I've studied at Yad Vashem so would say I'm fairly educated in what a genocide is.

Palistinians can't even leave via the Med as they'll be shot by the IDF.

Israel controls the inside of the border with Egypt. They also have bombed it many times and killed many who were trying to leave.

Hostages should never have been taken by Hamas or the IDF. There are more being held by the IDF.

Since 7th Oct 2023 -

466 Israeli soldiers have been killed.
More thank 67000 Palistinians have been killed. One third younger than 18.

The hardest hitting exhibition at Yad Vashem is the children's area where one walks under the ground and sees many lights. Each light represents a child killed.

Today, children will be murdered in Gaza, and tomorrow, the next day and I really cannot see it ever stopping until there is no more life in the whole area. I deed that is the goal, as specified by government leaders.

Unhinged? Because I’m horrified that the same propaganda is being used today to justify killing Jews is the same propaganda that was used 80 years ago when 6 million of us were wiped out under the noses of Europe? I personally know people who were killed by Hamas, I have froemds who have family kept in chains in Gaza, I have friends who are fighting for the freedom and survival of Israel, I have Palestinian friends who I love and I advocate for daily so they finally get a government and society they deserve. And I’m Jewish and I feel overwhelmed and physically ill by posts here and the lies that people believe and I’ll never stop speaking out, never! My children deserve to live without fear of being targeted by terrorists and Palestinian children deserve better than Hamas who make their lives unliveable! In Israel, every single home has a safe area accessible within 90 seconds. Hamas had ample resources to ensure the same for Gaza’s citizens when they chose to go into Israel and start a war! They managed to build hundreds of miles of tunnels yet not one safe room or shelter. Do you not think they knew that Israel would respond? Do you not think that they knew that they should ensure their civilians are safe? Israel is the size of Yorkshire, and the only Jewish country in the world. Jews are just as entitled to safety as any other people and I’m just as entitled to keep fighting for truth, empathy and understanding. Call me any names you wish, this is serious, and justifying or excusing any kind of hate is absolutely unacceptable.

Do you call her to check in when attacks occur in Gaza? Or attacks occur on Muslims or Christians or whatever she believes? If we should all be like this, that includes you.

Wow, so aggressive. Why on earth would I not be including myself? My point was that we all need to keep our compassion for other humans - I can't see what Ive said that would give you the impression that I am excluding Palestinians from that.

You're not alone in how you see this unfolding. I think Hamas have done a brilliant propaganda job but I suppose people also have to be willing to be propagandised. Personally couldn't watch footage of October 7th terrorists passing girls around to be raped to death and then ringing their mums to be praised and celebrated and conclude that they were in any way doing anything just, noble, or righteous. They dragged the Palestinian innocents into a war and hid behind them. So many people are taken in by their gaslighting and it's partly antisemitism, but also partly sheer ignorance. People on these threads know literally nothing about the history of Israel. They believe that Palestine was a free and happy place that the Jews violently took over and threw everyone out and enslaved and tortured those who stayed. They have no idea that Israel withdrew from Gaza years ago, that Israel has been giving aid to Gaza every day, and even given aid since October 7th (when really you could forgive them for saying no fucking way.) There's no genocide in Gaza, we know this now, but with half the international community having given in to Hamas it definitely feels like "a lie is halfway around the world before the truth has even had breakfast."

Also, I have a non-Jewish friend who is a regular on the pro-Pal marches. Lovely woman. She rang after the Manchester attack to ask if I was OK and to express solidarity. I was so touched. Can't we all be a bit more like that?

That's lovely. And yes, people should reach out. People may disagree but we should all try to retain our humanity.
