Jews leaving the UK

Ihatetomatoes · 06/10/2025 10:42

I dont blame them. I would if I were Jewish.

They have been failed by their country, which is the UK. I wish them well and hope the UK can sort its anti semitism problems so it becomes safe for Jewish people again.

Hardly in good faith when Hamas have always stated their main aim was to wipe Israel and then all Jews off the face of the planet. That's what people voted for.

Similarly the people on the marches who shout about globalising the intifada got what they wanted last Thursday when 2 men were murdered for simply being Jewish.

I thought it was 1 man (bad enough) with the police accidentally killing the other?

Yes. Police fire aimed at killing the terrorist who was trying to break into a synagogue to kill the people inside did indeed accidentally hit and kill the second man who was one of the people barricading the doors against the terrorist. I would squarely say the ultimate cause was the terrorist. Seems like you have a different view?
(edited to add kill. In case you think I’m trying to massage facts)

I don’t think it’s “my view” that the man accidentally killed by police was not murdered for being Jewish.

I think that’s simply the view. I was clarifying in case there were three deaths of which two were murdered.

No I think you’ll find that’s your view. It’s one that says a lot about you.

Ok.

If you think that had the perpetrator survived he would have been tried for two murders well….

Ok.

Yes. But that wouldn't have happened if there hadn't been a terrorist attack.

Sorry should say tens of thousands of children, hundreds of thousands of people

Rubbish. Even Hamas are quoting c.60k & that includes all their militants involved in a. 2 year war. Which incidentally they started on 7th Oct & could have ended at any time, including now, just by handing back the hostages. Any blood for civilian casualties is on their hands not Israel!

I suspect you may also not be an expert on criminal law so I’m not going to get into a debate on causation and mens rea with you. But jesus. This kind of blinkered view doesn’t help anyone. Do you really think you lose points by accepting that two men are dead as the consequence of a terrorist attack rather than one? What does it gain you?

Ketzele · 06/10/2025 23:38

Some horrible responses to Honeycottage. Shameful.

Also a lot of ignorance. Too much telling Jews what they should think. Snurkling disdain at the idea that Jews are 'safer' in Israel. Of course not physically safer, but surely we all understand that impulse to be with your own when under threat?

The black and white thinking that you are either pro or anti Israel. Like many with Jewish heritage, I am a zionist. Meaning that I believe Israel should survive as a Jewish homeland. I am also bitterly opposed to Netanyahu and believe in a two state solution because the Palestinian people also have a legitimate claim on the land.

I have Jewish friends and family who live in Israel, and Jewish friends and family who are anti zionist. Yet, the gap between them is not so very wide. I do wonder why critics of Israel have not made efforts to find common ground with liberal zionists both within and outside Israel.

And finally, shame on all those who are saying there has been ONE antisemitic incident. Do your research.

Also, I have a non-Jewish friend who is a regular on the pro-Pal marches. Lovely woman. She rang after the Manchester attack to ask if I was OK and to express solidarity. I was so touched. Can't we all be a bit more like that?

Ah thats ok then the terrorist only killed '1 man and the police killed the other'. Nothing to see there then. Globalise the intifada means take action which is what the '1 man' did...... is that not enough for you, what number terrorist will be too many!

Do you call her to check in when attacks occur in Gaza? Or attacks occur on Muslims or Christians or whatever she believes? If we should all be like this, that includes you.

Maybe she does, you seem to be assuming she doesn’t? Why so patronising? She was just sharing her experience.
Would you tell the same to a Black or Muslim person talking about their friend checking on them after a major racist/ islamophobic incident?
Why are some people on here so determined to minimise the experience of Jewish people? Insisting that the hostility they’re experiencing and trying to talk about is nothing special, nothing to see here?

PurpleChrayn · 07/10/2025 07:36

We’ve just stated the process of moving to Israel after three separate antisemitic attacks involving our young children. I’d say since the attack last week the majority of our Jewish friends are considering it.

I see. You decide.
So if I, a British Jew, support a two state solution then I am a non innocent Jew and I am no longer welcome here. And I am fair game. Have I got that right? (FYI my roots in Britain go back a thousand years and I am not even a little bit - not even a teeny bit- Israeli.).
what about other British people, who are not Jewish, who also support a two state solution. Are they also non innocent. Should they also go?

And one wonders why British Jews feel vulnerable and scared…

(Alternatively could you maybe exercise some of that tolerance for free (non hateful) speech we have all been talking about and accept that different people have different views?)

the7Vabo · 07/10/2025 07:42

NewGirlInTown · 06/10/2025 21:59

Quite so.

The Arab/Muslim nations surrounding Palestine have the highest fences in the world on their borders.
They want nothing to do with them, because Hamas/Radical Islam.
Israel is fighting a war. This war will set the template for the West. Christians will be next/ are already being slaughtered in their thousands in Nigeria and other African nations by Islamists.

Not much protesting going on for them.

Palestinians are not simply Arabs/Muslims, they are entitled to live on their own land.
Thats like saying Irish people should have gone to Scotland during British occupation because they are white.
Palestinians have widespread support in Ireland. Not because Irish people are anti-Jewish, but because of what a lot of Irish people see as a similarity with British occupation.

How do you feel about your children doing mandatory military service? Or about the way more homes are secured for Jewish settlers?

fruitbrewhaha · 07/10/2025 07:47

I don’t suppose the links with Tommy Robinson and Isreal are helping. EDL and its campaign of hate against Islam has some very rich backers including Isreal and pro Isreal groups. I see he has been invited to visit.

This hatred is being orchestrated.

I think it's London where Jews are being harassed, I haven't heard of it in other parts of the country (but others may know differently?). It's appalling, these poor families have nothing to do with the situation in Israel, and their personal views are their own business.

Well why aren’t the 2 billion Muslims worldwide doing more for the Palestinians? Including all the surrounding countries, some of whom are actually really rich? Why are they not taking in their own? Rather than funding hate campaigns in the West?

That's ridiculous
So Palestinians should just give up their land that generations of their families have grown up on and simply move elsewhere? Why? Isn't that colonialism? Ethnic cleansing?
Why does one group have more rights than another?
Would you let a family just kick you out of your house?
And Palestinians are semites too
