Same. Completely overworked and some difficult people issues are making me feel permanently anxious. Single parent though, so I've got no choice but to soldier on.

Because I'm sad and the situation is dominating every part of my life.

So, I don't feel so alone and isolated from the world of work.

Because I am on minimum wage and I am too old , my colleagues do the bare minimum and boss thinks they are amazing .

Because I work in Health and Safety.
im fed up of employees thinking safety doesn’t matter and they know best. Equally fed up of the directors being led by the operation rather than what’s legally required-‘or choosing to listen when it suits them. Oh- and people not realising all the fire fighting that goes on behind the scenes, think they can do a better job than me because I just sit around twiddling my thumps….

Mondays are my longest working day and I just can't face it

I dont want to go to work tomorrow because

• I'm exhausted (not sleeping properly)
• I feel generally run down
• my manager is a nightmare
• I have a million and one things to catch up on at home
• I want to watch Netflix with a brew
• I've got that awful sore throat / cold that is going round and I just feel crap

I have to pack up and get rid of a load of furniture. Not enough hours in the day!

Because I'm just home from holiday.
Because I'm exhausted.
Because I have to do all the PDRs this month.
Because my boss is a dick.
Because I'm the only one working in the house and it sucks having to leave before they are even up.
Because I was built to live a life of leisure goddammit!
The thought of doing this for another 20 years makes me want to scream.

Because after 21 years of loving teaching I've finally had enough.

Kids are never the problem, it's the increasingly unachievable targets set by management who've not taught for years. And the ever changing goal posts, ie being told X is the absolute most important thing, and must take priority over everything else, then getting bollocked because Y hasn't been done thoroughly enough. Constantly just waiting to see what shit hits what fan next.

And I'm really sad, because I desperately want that job I trained for 20 years ago (and loved, and was bloody good at!) but it literally doesn't exist any more.

...I cant recall why I dont want to go to work tomorrow, but its probably J K Rowling's fault.

I despise Mondays, I’m the first one in, it’s dark mornings now, the day goes slow, I’m ready to retire but have about 40 years left, I want to go to bed when I want to on Sundays and not have to worry about alarms going off. I can never sleep on Sundays and the fear that when I wake I need to get ready for work.

Im so pissed off working Mondays I’ve booked x2 consecutive Mondays & Tuesdays off in November and I cannot wait.!

Because a lot of my school friends have retired...but I wasn't as sensible as them and have a few more years to go as yet 😫

There’s a task waiting for me that last week’s me decided to put off until Monday because she didn’t fancy it. Fancy it even less now.

I’ve had a really busy weekend and been out the house all day yesterday and today so I haven’t done any housework and have fallen behind with the washing. Nothing is prepared for school/work tomorrow and I’ve caught a really bad cold. Another two days off would be great. One to just rot and rest with my book in the hope of fighting off this cold and one to catch up on my housework and laundry!

I am 60 and retired. I was a Primary teacher. It will never , ever not be a total joy to me that I don't have to go to work ever again. My 2 grandchildren ( 3.5 years and 20 months) will be dropped off by my DIL at 7.15 tomorrow and we will have a fabulous day doing jolly things.

Because I'm a childminder and I have a particularly challenging 2 year old at the moment who uses all of my energy....along with a screaming one yesr old and a toilet training 3 year old.....

Because I stormed out of the office 8 weeks ago saying ‘I’ve had enough of this nonsense’. First day back tomoz. Dreading the repercussions, but has to be faced. Am actively seeking other jobs, interview next month 😊

Because I’m massively over loaded and stressed and it’s all about the stats and management don’t care no matter how many people tell them they are struggling

i don’t work Mondays so this is for Tuesday…

I don’t want to go to work because..

We have a new beautiful rescue puppy who has been abused, she’s only 11 months old. She’s underweight, small for her breed and missing some teeth😡We’ve worked so hard to gain her trust, settle her in, show her love etc - and it’s working! She does “kisses” now, wags her tail, and jumps for joy when we come in. She sleeps between us and plays happily with her toys.

On Tuesday, I have to leave her for 3 hours and I really want to just be with her. She’s the purest little soul… unlike the bitching, lying, backstabbing “ladies” I work with. She has everything, and more, and she’ll be fine without me for that time.
But I know I won’t be fine without her.

…. it’s my first day at my new job, and my first day away from my baby and I already can’t stop crying

Same here, I hear you. And because I'm public sector I get the double whammy of Joe Public telling me by default how all the ills of the world are my fault. Last week I was told I was a Nazi in a past life.
