I have an essay to write
I would rather practice my piano
I don't want to work any more
I want to sit under a blanket and watch Netflix
I am so over this working for a living lark

Why else don't you want to go to work tomorrow?

I always feel the same when I am ill on a weekend. And I'm usually too busy to be ill during the week.

I have a stupid bullshit job that pays well enough but that is sucking my will to live. Same as the job I had before that. I don't want to work any more. It's all crap.

I have fresher's flu (as do all of my colleagues, courtesy of the incoming freshers!) and anything involving movement or thought feels like walking through treacle!

I don't really feel like it
I'd rather read my book
I'd rather do a bit more of my craft project
I'd rather do some baking
It's quite hard work and there's lots of things that are both more interesting and less difficult

I’ve been working for long enough now I think. I have had jobs of some form for 40 years surely that’s enough. I’m tired of it

Because I have a UTI which was raging last night, subsided slightly today and I just can't tell what it will be like tomorrow, will I need to go and get antibiotics? Will I get any sleep tonight?

Because I hate getting up in the fucking dark.

I don't want to go to work tomorrow because... I just don't want to. I've had enough of having to go to bloody work.

People would think it was most odd as I am retired.

I have a bit of a cold and am not sleeping well.
I am part-way through a pile of written assessment marking that I don't think I'll manage to finish by tomorrow.
I'm lucky really though - I work in a lovely school with lovely colleagues and lovely kids.
Weather is disgusting. I wish I could take tomorrow off and finish my marking by the fire with a big pot of tea.

I'm so sorry about your ddog @Whereismyfleeceblanket - we had to have ours pts the weekend before last. The same weekend that dd went to study abroad for a year. I miss them both a lot.

Because I’m done. The commute takes up to 2 hours each way. I’m too old to spend 13 hours out of the house doing a job that a monkey could do. My house is a bloody tip, as is my garden. I need a month off just to get everything sorted. Completely done. Where’s my lottery win???

Because I’ve been off since MIL died 3 weeks ago, FiL spent half the 3 weeks in hospital with a suspected heart attack and DH & his siblings managed to have several ‘discussions’ around arrangements for the funeral that really upset him & his mental health has tanked.

Work were suppportive but I’d rather be home with DH, the cat & the dog.

I have the house to myself for 6 weeks and I want to gut the lounge! Work is getting in the way of this task!

@Whereismyfleeceblanket I am so sorry. I hope you’re able to spoil your lovely dog tomorrow if they’re up to it.

Because my electric, heating & water went off because of the storm on Friday afternoon and is still not fixed

I’m cold, unwashed, unable to use a toilet, have lost the contents of my fridge & freezer (and I’d just done an M&S shop before it went off)

Totally fed up and unprepared for returning to work tomorrow

I really enjoy my actual job...but dear God there are some long-standing bad apples in that place. Ugh.
