I have an essay to write
I would rather practice my piano
I don't want to work any more
I want to sit under a blanket and watch Netflix
I am so over this working for a living lark

Why else don't you want to go to work tomorrow?

GuffyTheDustBuster · 05/10/2025 16:15

Because I think a project is about to go nuclear and its partially my fault.

Because tomorrow is the last day with our ddog. She is getting pts on Tuesday... Kind customer has given my the afternoon off paid though.

So sorry to hear this ❤️

arcticpandas · 05/10/2025 16:18

Because I don't have a job. I have to accompany my autistic DC to a special teen school for disabled teens/young adults praying that he will behave correctly so they agree to take him on...

laloue · 05/10/2025 16:18

Because I’ve got 5 shifts left until I leave and it’s dragging…plus I have to do a bunch of reviews and other stuff that just makes me want to growl. If I make it to the end of Saturday without losing it with a customer it’ll be a miracle!

Bellyblueboy · 05/10/2025 16:18

It’s incredibly busy and I am already behind and I am tired and stressed and just want to sleep.

popcornandpotatoes · 05/10/2025 16:20

Can't be arsed mainly. I had annual leave on Friday so no idea what is awaiting me when I log on tomorrow

Because our senior leader is awful. The type of person who prides themselves on being 'direct', but is actually rude, abrasive and unpleasant.

Morethanthis71 · 05/10/2025 16:23

I'm a teacher, I've worked for the past 5 weekends including this weekend, both days every weekend. My eyes are stinging from tiredness and I want to have time to tidy and clean my house.

MissRaspberry · 05/10/2025 16:23

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 05/10/2025 15:20

I honestly just can't be fucked

Same here I can't be arsed although I have to. Can't stand being hit kicked verbally abused and have piss thrown at me constantly. All for bare minimum wage too

chasegirl · 05/10/2025 16:23

I took on a new role and fear I'm not up to it. I need the payrise to help pay for Dd at uni next year.

I'm old and fed up with working, the endless crap that gets put on us all for not extra pay. Same old stuff over and over, year after year it's relentless and I've had enough.

The weather's getting cold and damp and that makes me want to stay in bed.

I want to win the lottery.

TwinklyPlumHedgehog · 05/10/2025 16:24

Because DS2 (aged 15 months) has been waking up every two hours for the last few months and I’m exhausted… plus I’ve now got the cold that has kept him awake for the last few nights.

Between DS1 (aged 3) and DS2 I never get time for myself, and I’m sick of my stressful job being my ‘me time’… I love them and am so lucky to have them but god it’s relentless sometimes.

reversingdumptruckwithnotyreson · 05/10/2025 16:25

… because management has given me the absolute ick and I just don’t want to be there anymore.

I don’t trust them, I don’t like them, I resent them and I hate that it’s become this little boys’ club. I just want out but haven’t managed to find a place with the same wage yet and I love my other coworkers.

Sproutling · 05/10/2025 16:27

Because on Monday I tell my manager that she has made a decision that impacts me negatively, to the point I have to leave, ( and I had planned to work another 3 years before retiring so my financial plans are now scuppered)

chasegirl · 05/10/2025 16:27

Idstillratherbepaddleboarding · 05/10/2025 15:12

I want to stay at home with my dog.
The government keep piling more and more work on us while refuse to engage in annual pay rise discussions and sending out emails thanking us for our hard work at the difficult time. Don’t thank us, pay us!
I have autism, depression, SAD on top of that and anorexia and it’s all a bit much at the moment.
I have 2 books I want to read.
It’s cold, windy and rainy.
I get angsty sat at a desk most of the day doing paperwork instead of working with the people we’re meant to work with.
I want to exercise and walk my dog instead.

Civil service?

Harriet9955 · 05/10/2025 16:28

I dislike my job and only have 5 months of my fixed term contract left. It's really hard to get through each day at the moment. Trying to claw my way through to the end of March but it's hard not to pack it in earlier.

SapphireSeptember · 05/10/2025 16:29

Because I'm a stay at home mum... Bloody miss my pre DS days!

Harriet9955 · 05/10/2025 16:30

I was planning to work another couple of years until 60 but now desperately trying to make it work to finish earlier. DH not on board really with this idea though !

Yourlifeinyourhands · 05/10/2025 16:30
  • My work is a bit boring and we are particularly quiet right now which is a tad soul destroying
  • Id rather stay in bed and watch Netflix with my dog
TheGoldenGhouls · 05/10/2025 16:31

My kids are off school and I really want to spend the day with them. I’ve also lost all motivation and I’m really just going through the motions at this point.

Fgfgfg · 05/10/2025 16:32

I have too much work and not enough time.
I have a manager that tries to flatter me into doing parts of her job. Does she think I'm stupid and can't see what she's doing with the 'oh but you're really good at this'?
I want my life back
I have other things to do
I want to take photographs
I want to clean my house and sort things out before it falls down
I want to focus on my health, which is not good
I'm too old for this shit

Shayisgreat · 05/10/2025 16:36

Because I dislike my current role and want to leave.
Because some of my colleagues are just a bit shit.
Because I have too much on my plate to complete and I'm overwhelmed.
Because I'd rather play tennis.
Because my house needs to be decluttered and I don't want to waste my weekends decluttering.
Because I'm watching House of Guinness and would like to binge watch the rest.
Just...can't be arsed really!

I'll still go in tomorrow but it's really really painful at the moment.

Shayisgreat · 05/10/2025 16:39

chasegirl · 05/10/2025 16:27

Civil service?

Social work?

QueenStevie · 05/10/2025 16:39

Because I have hurt my back and I'm an early years teacher so not really a job in which you can rest a sore back.

misspositivepants · 05/10/2025 16:40

It’s the start of the legal redundancy group consultation tomorrow, expectation is if you are due to be made redundant, they won’t be accepting voluntary redundancy. So I’ll have potential 45 days of the unknown and then a months notice after that. I was formally advised 2 weeks ago I was ‘at risk’ so to be honest I’m already worn out with it all.
