... and how Jews are not protected in this country.

@samthepigeon I think some
of the confusion was the fact he had a terrorist handbook. The police said they wanted to release info much earlier but were unable too. In this climate you can't really leave gaps for very long. I think the published photos and a name yesterday very quickly actually.

We seem to have imported vicious hatreds from other parts of the world.

Great.😡

Mosques and Muslim schools do not require armed guards,

private security is not ‘armed guards’, which are provided by the police. Muslims don’t tend to segregate themselves into separate schools so that is not comparable. Mosques arguably have equally high a need for private security, but they choose not to pay for it whereas Synagogues do.

This and everything you've said.

They have their own police force and security.

"Islamist terrorism is the most significant terrorist threat to the UK by volume."

It's not going to get better that's for sure. The security forces were clearly expecting attacks hence the fast response.

indeed - Jews aren't scared of Buddists/Sikhs/Christian members of the public are they? They are under threat specifically from Muslims. So instead of saying there is an antisemitism problem why don't we just collectively admit the real problem?

The Left's antisemitism, Islamist and 'friends of Hamas' problem predates the current actions of the Israeli government. So, whilst there are no doubt many well-meaning people opposed solely to the actions of the Israeli government, they march on the same side of the street as the 'from the river to the sea', 'final solution', 'at all costs' and 'death to Israel' people.

HeyThereDelila · 03/10/2025 06:28

YANBU OP, it’s a disgrace.

Vile that those marches went on last night too. The PM has emboldened this by recognising Palestine while hostages are still being held.

Really? Jews have never been at risk from far right, neo nazi groups? Only from Muslims?

itsraining2024 · 03/10/2025 06:35

I won’t be reading the daily fail anymore. We don’t know if he was an Islamic terrorist or a mentally unwell man who lived alone walking down the streets in his pyjamas (as neighbours have described). He could have had mental issues. Terrorists don’t ram their car back and forth and then go stabbing people like a crazy person. Was the guy who drove through the crowd in Liverpool a terrorist? Really quick to call someone an Islamic terrorist just because they have a Muslim name. It’s like calling all Jews zionists which is not the case.

itsraining2024 · 03/10/2025 06:37

@HeyThereDelilatheyre protesting the genocide in Palestine. If you’re so enraged by what happened in Manchester why not the same anger towards the killings in Palestine? Children beheaded and bombed? Pretty normal? Pick and choose who deserves to be killed right? Absolutely disgusting and may you be held responsible for your words.

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 06:38

I agree there is growing anti jewish sentiment and we can all admit this is because of the atrocities being committed by Israel.

At least people are admitting it. Why are people blaming UK jews for this? Are all of the British public targets because of our governments actions?

Presumably you think that's why we have seen the growth in the Far right due to atrocities committed here?

knitnerd90 · 03/10/2025 06:38

As a Jew I am so tired of everything being blamed on Israel. these were Jews worshipping in Manchester. This seems to bend over backwards to say "Well, people just can't help hating Jews everywhere because Israel is bad and they claim all Jews."

The same left wingers who accept that logic would absolutely reject treating all Muslims the same way (rightly so).

Antisemitism has been quieter in Britain than in some other European countries, but it's never totally gone away. It's the conspiracy theory that unifies. Right or left, once you get extreme enough it ends up blaming the Jews.

Most Israelis are Jewish. However, the vast majority of Jewish people in the UK and wider diaspora are NOT Israeli. They support the right of Israel to exist (Zionism) but they do not vote for Israeli politicians and if you look at the research in fact 51% of British Jews said Israel’s conduct in Gaza clashed with their Jewish values yet one in three British Jews have experienced antisemitism in the last year.

So perhaps before posting on a thread called antisemitism, less than 24 hours after an horrific act of terrorism, you might think about showing unconditional support for your Jewish neighbours rather than rushing to tell us that Israel are to blame and are ‘the biggest antisemites’. Disgusting. People
like you are in fact the problem.

So it just happened to be a Synagogue that he attacked. Come on. Stop with this crap. We see you.

Longingdreamer · 02/10/2025 21:42

What evidence do you have for this?

Mosques and Muslim schools do not require armed guards, and did not experience a horrific terrorist attack today, on the holiest day of the year.

Your post lacks compassion

Look at the comments in any online article with in a Muslim person in it and tell me this country doesn’t have a huge problem with race in general

I think it was more the dummy suicide best and the stabbings of innocent people but yes perhaps he was wearing pyjamas underneath and was actually sleep walking.

The minimising is unbelievable

miraxxx · 03/10/2025 01:35

But there is a vast difference in the population numbers of the two groups and on a percapita basis, what do equal numbers reveal? Then again who attacks mosques - certainly not jews. Whereas antisemitic attacks overwhelmingly are perpetrated by muslims.

Historically I don't think that's true. Jews in the UK have been the victims of antisemitic attitudes ever since Jewish communities were established in the UK, predating the arrival of large Muslim communities by several centuries. We can therefore infer that this was likely to be perpretrated by Christians. Need I point out that the biggest attack on the Jewish community that ever took place was by a Christian?

Today, antisemitic attitudes in the UK are strongly associated with the far-right, the same group of people who also hold negative views about Muslims and other xenophobic attitudes.

I think both groups of people would do well to understand their shared experiences in that regard. Instead of focusing on divisions or competing claims over who suffers more, there is strength to be found in solidarity and mutual understanding.

Don’t be silly. The whole point is that the victims of extremism are innocent. Your post sounds exactly like the sweeping under the carpet that I mentioned. It seems ridiculous to me to lament how awful these attacks are without considering why there is so much hostility around us.

This equally applies to Israel's successful intervention in Gaza, which Gaza protesters lament. And Reform growing in popularity due to the real or perceived threat from Islamist terrorism, which many also lament.

Nazi isn’t a religion though.

And neither is 'Islamism', which is automatically mentioned the second a brown person carries out an atrocity, before we even know if he has a religion. Look at Westminster, it was the first thing said, then it was revealed that the perpetrator was anti Islam. People are still referring to it as an 'Islamist terror attack'.
I read a few days ago about a young man who murdered several members of his family. The comments were shockingly nice, everyone saying people shouldn't comment as obviously he must have had mental health issues, so not fair to say anything negative. This NEVER happens if it's a non white perpetrator. Comments are always evil bastard/send him home/that's what they're like.
