Mosques and Muslim schools do not require armed guards,

private security is not ‘armed guards’, which are provided by the police. Muslims don’t tend to segregate themselves into separate schools so that is not comparable. Mosques arguably have equally high a need for private security, but they choose not to pay for it whereas Synagogues do.

Don’t tend to segregate themselves?
London Islamic School, Jaffaria Academy, Jamiatul Ummah School… to name just 3…
According to Google there are over 184 Muslim faith schools in the U.K.
That’s far more than the number of Jewish schools (136).
And whilst we’re talking about “segregating themselves” which you clearly use as a slur, there are around 2169 Catholic schools in the U.K. Do you claim that Catholics are segregating themselves? There are over 4630 Church of England schools in the U.K. Are they also segregating themselves?? Is it only a slur in reference to Jewish schools?!

Why can’t those of you wanting to demonise an entire group - be they Muslims or Jews see that YOU are contributing to the hate out there?

By posting your hate filled comments you are emboldening nutters like this and making such horrendous events more likely.

It’s not fucking rocket science!

er no, it wasn’t a “land grab” it was returning the Jewish people back home tk where they originated from and been exiled from by the Babylonians and subsequent empires.well before the Arab invasion of the 7th century. The area of Israel has historically been very coverted because of its easy access to the Mediterranean, where East meets West.

When Islam was invented and used as a unifying force, it was drafted in such a way to absorb enough Jewish and Christian tradition to make it palatable but distinguish it enough to keep control. This is why there is an overlap with Jerusalem as a holy site -it was marking its territory. It’s why many of Muhammad’s stories incorporate Jewish and Christian symbolism.

Constantine’s version of Christianity - built on Pauline doctrine which opened up Christianity to non-Jews did the same with local traditions across the Roman Empire

Both concepts relied heavily on the methodologies made famous initially by Alexander the Great.,

Many religions are a mechanism of war of conquest. It’s why we see the motif of Christianity being used amongst the patriotic right.

In hoc signo - that’s the origins of both Constantine’s Christianity and Islam. Like it or not the history books bear this out.

Of course, people in their day to day lives might only see the spiritual parts, but religions have inbuilt into them mechanisms which are designed to expand the territories and numbers of followers. It might be through conversion, through increasing birth rates (why do you think some religions ban contraception and abortion) or through killing non believers. It’s all there.

Religions aren’t generally peaceful they go hand in hand with power and military might. History tells us this. Why do we insist on ignoring it?

By that logic the Zoroastrians deserve that land.

There are 1.8m British Pakistanis in the UK, most came over in the 1950/60s at the UK’s behest to fill a labour vacuum. The vast majority live peaceful, law abiding lives.

The way you dismiss and generalise this group is racist.

Obviously not ALL Pakistani Muslims here are bad. But it IS a huge problem. The grooming gangs are still going in now in several places. Over 1000 children were abused. These men were offering the victims to huge numbers of other Pakistani men to rape. There must thus have been huge numbers since these 'clients' have not ofc been imprisoned.

It's not just about crime but about community tolerance of crime. The groomers were afraid their peers would be angry they'd slept with a white person, not that they'd abused a child. Not enough Muslims are tackling these cancers. I respect people like Shabana who do, a lot.

FactCheck: what local and national inquiries into grooming gangs have there been?

Key figures including Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch, and Elon Musk, owner of social media site X, have called for a full national public inquiry into UK grooming gangs.

This is a racist comment Horrace. You are fuelling the hatred of communities who are not connected to terror and living within a peaceful religion.

Islam isn't a race. It's a religion.
I have a phobia of the religion.
Tell me which race of people I'm ostracising?

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 09:41

It’s a fundamentally antisemitic argument because the Jews of the world get blamed for the Israeli government that we have nothing to do with. Some of you seem to think this is a justification not an explanation.

This

I am referring to the unchecked culture of hate that has been allowed to continue. This attack should never have happened, and the response time will be little condolence to the families of the deceased.

There is a huge amount of hate towards Muslims, Huge.

Bloozie · 03/10/2025 09:41

I'm dismayed by the use of 'left' and 'right' in this argument.

Very few people on the left support terrorism. Radical far left maybe, but 'the left'... no.

Many people on the right abhor the actions of Israel in Gaza. Many British Jews abhor and condemn the actions of Israel in Gaza.

Vast swathes of people on the left and the right condemn both Islamophobia AND anti-semitism.

This isn't left v right, Labour v Reform, Pro-Palestine v Pro-Israel.

It's terrorism.

Most of those schools accept non faith pupils too.

It's more complex as most Muslim schools are not as good academically so non religious parents don't choose them. Others may be worried about extremism.

@HavingYouTubeDoesntMakeYouAFilmmaker you think irish catholics were not treated badly throughout the Troubles?!

Do you have evidence for that?

And before that, the vast majority were perpetrated by Catholics

In England or the UK? The paramilitaries were responsible for more deaths during the Troubles. Most people don't even know they exist or the collusion with the British government. Separate thread though.

It baffles me that so many are ignorant to the conflict in our lands but seemingly are experts about ones in the Middle East.

I have no doubt they were. But were all Irish? Or all Catholics? Because that’s the equivalent here.

All Jews being conflated with the genocide.

All Muslims (and to some extent all brown people) conflated with the murderous extremists.

Your comment isn’t worth a response. As a Jew I am horrified at this. Shame on you - 2 innocent people were killed by an Islamic terrorist today. Call it out or eff off with your racist “Zionist” rhetoric.

With all due respect, it’s not whataboutism time. People died. People were attacked at their chosen place of worship. Lives were shattered & lost.
Human lives. Their creed and “who has it worse” is SUCH a weird comment.

I have Jewish friends, I have Muslim friends. Agnostics, Catholics, a few Hindu, nonbelievers, etc. All human beings & their lives are all worth the same. This fucking “othering”, them/us/group A v. group B has got to stop.
The attacks are so tragically predictable & needless, stirred up by hateful rhetoric across the spectrum and media. Don’t buy into it. Find the common ground - we’re humans.

Agreed. Do people not have diversity in their friendships?

I’ve found that when you talk to people of different faiths and backgrounds, you find there is much to have in common than not.

On Sky News, it was good to see the Muslim leaders showing solidarity with the Jewish community.

When was the last time Muslims in the UK were attacked in a similar fashion to this? This isn’t a facetious question, I actually don’t know?

The Finsbury Park Mosque. It was an identical attack, against Muslims.

Some Muslim schools talk about welcoming non Myslims though. I suspect many non Muslim parents would appeal also due to potential language issued if pupils might generally speak a language their child doesn't.

No minorities are protected in this country. There is a rise in racism and xenophobia in general, Jews are no different to any of the other minorities that are feeling unsafe.

This.

The war in Gaza is NOT a genocide.

How the hell can you say that? There is a whole race of people being starved and wiped out. What way would you describe it???

we don’t hate on all Germans. Or all Sudanese for the current genocide in Sudan…. Or even all Muslims for the genocide in Sudan

clipboardz · 03/10/2025 09:47

Islamist extremism willcontinue to grow as long as extremist Zionism continues to attempt to ethnically cleanse a Muslim population. As long as the western allies continue to support this, there will be continued risk of terrorism

This is just abhorrent and comes across almost like a threat.

Jujujudo · 03/10/2025 09:48

You need help with that phobia. Islamophobia isn't rational or healthy, and living your life full of fear and hate will limit you. I haven't read the full thread so I don't know whether you have had an encounter with one Muslim that has led to this extreme fear, and if you have, I am very sorry for that - but holding every member of a faith responsible for the actions of a few is not a healthy response.

Just like holding every member of the Jewish faith responsible for the actions of a few is also deeply unhealthy.
