... and how Jews are not protected in this country.

My point is pretty obvious I would have thought.

Not to me & no idea what it has to do with the thread.

It really isn’t…. Can women meet in groups?

Until very recently - not without the threat that they would need to include a man if he so desired. But can’t see the relevance to this thread

There is a very rational reason to have a phobia of Islam. The terrorist attacks that occur in my country are by Islamists.

Your post sounds awfully like victim blaming. That is disgusting.

How is it victim blaming ? I think you’re very naive to think this attack is not connected with Gaza.

We live in an area where there is a large Jewish community and have several close Jewish friends. None of them support what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza, but all have admitted to being nervous about going to synagogue because they recognise that the extremists who carry out these kinds of attacks neither recognise nor care that the people they are targeting are in no way connected with what’s happening. Most were of the opinion that something like the attack yesterday was inevitable.

When was the last time Muslims in the UK were attacked in a similar fashion to this? This isn’t a facetious question, I actually don’t know?

Darren Osborne

Darren Osborne guilty of Finsbury Park mosque murder

Darren Osborne drove a van into a crowd of Muslims near a mosque in London, killing one and injuring nine.

Clearly you haven’t seen any footage from any of the marches calling for death to Jews.
Or maybe look at footage from Liverpool Street station YESTERDAY with the chanting/singing and flag waving.
Are you going to say that was just a spontaneous bursting into song along the lines of the Sound of Music on the day where Jewish people had been murdered simply for being Jews.
i would like to say im shocked by the blatant anti semitism on this thread but im not.
Im just sad and so so worried for the beautiful GB which welcomed the Kinder Transport and promised safe haven to Jews. How have we let it come to this?

Has That GB ever existed? When you look closer at how we treated Jews during WW2 it isn’t all welcome wagons and love. We refused to help many, many fleeing the Nazis. Yes, the kindertransport was a beautiful moment, but there were many against it.

It really isn’t…. Can women meet in groups?

That's a very specific point you're trying to make. Women have been told to have smaller, restricted lives for years. This is a moment in time when Jewish people are told not to gather in groups. Women were prevented from meeting in a group to protest against the murder of Sarah Everad and were arrested for doing so. I'm not trying to point score or get one over on anyone. All of this is abhorrent but to deny that women are constantly expected to live smaller lives is wrong.

I’m not a Labour supporter at all but I have been impressed by her tbh. I’m wondering if she is positioning herself for a leadership bid..she seems to at least be saying things more in tune with the mood of the country.

Please 🙏

There is certainly an increase in xenophobic hate op. Clearly exacerbated by Reform and social media.
It’s disgusting.

Read the the thread then. I said it was shocking that Jews have been told not to be in groups. Pp said well what about woman and I said it wasn’t comparable as women can meet in groups. Ffs

It's not racist to say we have a lot of sectarian rural Pakistani Muslims here. That's where the grooming gangs & other stuff come from.

People like you who decry fair criticism as racist are part of the problem. It's racist to ignore problems and not criticise dysfunctional aspects of culture. As a white Briton, I can say historically some areas have had more regressive attitudes. Why can't you do the same?

There are 1.8m British Pakistanis in the UK, most came over in the 1950/60s at the UK’s behest to fill a labour vacuum. The vast majority live peaceful, law abiding lives.

The way you dismiss and generalise this group is racist.

Honish · 03/10/2025 09:33

They have been emboldened by Starmers official support of Hamas terrorist state. We as a nation are supporters of terrorists.

Men drove around London calling for the rape and murder of Jews and nothing was done. But if a pensioner or a young mother puts a social media post up criticising Islam then the police raid their home and put them in prison.

Because someone purported that only Jewish people have had restrictions placed on them. My point is that women are expected to permanently live in this way.

KimberleyClark · 03/10/2025 09:35

Here is a summary of a report by the Institute for Jewish Policy Research. I’ve quoted a particularly interesting part.

www.jpr.org.uk/reports/antisemitism-contemporary-great-britain

On the political spectrum, levels of antisemitism are found to be highest among the far-right, and levels of anti-Israelism are heightened across all parts of the left-wing, but particularly on the far-left. In all cases, the higher the level of anti-Israelism, the more likely it is to be accompanied by antisemitism. Yet, importantly, most of the antisemitism found in British society exists outside of these three groups – the far-left, far-right and Muslims; even at its most heightened levels of intensity, only about 15% of it can be accounted for by them.

That is a war. I am reporting you to MN for spreading dangerous misinformation
They need to clamp down on this

I agree that a lot of what Netanyahu is doing is probably wrong but it is a war and right now it's very hard to judge tactics.

And it is NOT comparable to an unambiguous terrorist attack.

Edited

There are international rules of war and Israel has been deemed to be breaking them. There is an arrest warrant out. Don’t dismiss what Israel is doing by declaring it ‘war’. Not that it’s relevant here. Worshipers in Manchester are not to blame for the genocide and must not be conflated with it.

You are 💯 correct Nomas.

knitnerd90 · 03/10/2025 09:36

As I’ve said, I’m Jewish. Antisemitism comes from multiple angles. I don’t like everyone rushing to blame Muslims.

i have experienced antisemitism from the right, from white leftists (who can be appalling actually) and occasionally, but not mostly, from Muslims.

the fact is that British Jews live the quietest lives you can imagine. I’ve lived in 3 countries and the British community is the quietest and most insular. The Americans are loud and proud, the Canadians (my shortest stay) quiet but visible.

I am actually to the left on Palestine, certainly by Jewish standards, but I have no time for this argument that Israel is somehow to blame. It sort of is but the point is missed. It’s a fundamentally antisemitic argument because the Jews of the world get blamed for the Israeli government that we have nothing to do with. Some of you seem to think this is a justification not an explanation.

I don't see anything racist about it? Do you actually understand what racism is? Negative attitude, words or actions towards a person/people purely based on ethnicity?

@HavingYouTubeDoesntMakeYouAFilmmaker you think irish catholics were not treated badly throughout the Troubles?!

Do you have evidence for that?

And before that, the vast majority were perpetrated by Catholics

In England or the UK? The paramilitaries were responsible for more deaths during the Troubles. Most people don't even know they exist or the collusion with the British government. Separate thread though.

It baffles me that so many are ignorant to the conflict in our lands but seemingly are experts about ones in the Middle East.

Well we had this, a loyalist bomb exploded behind a school.

It really isn't in any way. Both anti-Semitism and Christophobia are flourishing in this country whilst an ongoing genocide of Christians by Islamists in Nigeria continues unabated, thousands of women and children have been murdered, yet we rarely hear about it in the mainstream media, no global condemnation and no marches for them or the Jewish victims of the October 7th genocide.

Solidarity with our Jewish community.

Don’t misconstrue what’s happening in Nigeria. Also, it is muslim women and girls in the north who have been the biggest victims of these attacks. The Christians being targeted are specifically from the east.
