Starmer thinks I am an enemy of the state

1000 replies

Bumblebee72 · 01/10/2025 10:14

So we have it Starmer has declared at conference because I support Reform I am now an enemy of his Government.

Who would have thought it, a middle class British worker, now an enemy in the country I was born. And they say Reform is the party of Fascists. Yet we also now have the Home Secretary saying "In solving this crisis, you may not always like what I do. We will have to question some of the assumptions and legal constraints that have lasted for a generation and more". Maybe the Home Secretary too will be deemed an enemy of the state.

Am I being unreasonable to think this should be seen as a rallying cry to get this Government out at the first opportunity.

Yanbu he’s lost it. Panicking with fighting talk.

Oh yes Nigel can fuck you harder -

typical right wing policies would remove your NHS ( and private insurance models imported from his buddies in the US will cost you a lot more )

he will fuck your health by reducing legislation that keeps food basically safe - importing more from his buddies in the US

and I strongly suspect that education will go down the pan - all funding withdrawn form universities - because right wing governments don’t want an educated middle class

peoplw who have been born in this country and lived and paid taxes will be terrified if their skin is the wrong colour

Honestly let them. They voted for Brexit and they’re worse off. Reform will just decimate them and ironically the minorities they’re so hoping will be kicked out will actually be fine. The latter will have access to other citizenships, funds and recourse to careers/jobs elsewhere. It will be the reform voters stuck here with a broken healthcare and welfare system expected to work more for a lot less.

Not of much comfort when choking down piss. Might never get the taste out.

Lol. I'm not sure. Whilst I'm choking on piss I'll take much comfort knowing the tories and the labour people's are choking too.

JamieCannister · 01/10/2025 11:47

Stoneblock · 01/10/2025 10:23

I agreed with everything he said, but I also think it was a dreadful mistake to say it, and will just entrench Reform support further.

This is what I don't understand.

Slagging off reform as fascists and their voters as racist is untrue, IMHO. Lying does not help, not least when it comes to identifying actual fascists and racists... but if reform are fascists and their supporters racists, and the aim is to reduce fascism and racism and retain power for labour, then the constant smearing is doing the opposite which is intended.

Saying something which half the country thinks is a lie and is acting against the interests of the other half by increasing support for reform is really stupid.

The scary thing is with the sentiment in the country as it is, were Starmer to come out against the death penalty for shoplifting or castration for sleeping on the streets half the country would probably end up supporting the death penalty for shoplifting or castration for sleeping on the streets. And to be honest given how smug, patronizing, soulless and annoying Starmer is I would not blame them.

Or perhaps not...

Certainly not on MN. It is notoriously liberal.

In the real world the polls prove otherwise.

They won’t though. Just like Brexit. It’s the ones who voted for it that suffered the most and complained the most.

Hereforthecommentz · 01/10/2025 11:48

TwistyTales · 01/10/2025 10:24

He didn't call you or anyone else an enemy of the state. This is what he said:

Controlling migration is a reasonable goal.

But if you throw bricks and smash up private property…

That’s not legitimate – that’s thuggery.

Free speech is a British value – and we have guarded it for centuries.

But if you incite racist violence and hatred…

That’s not expressing concern – it’s criminal.

This party, this great party, is proud of our flags…

Yet if they are painted alongside graffiti…

Telling a Chinese takeaway owner to “go home”…

That’s not pride – that’s racism.

And if you say or imply…

That people cannot be English or British…

Because of the colour of their skin…

That mixed heritage families owe you an explanation…

And that people who have lived here for generations…

Raised their children here…

Built lives in their communities…

Working in our schools, our hospitals, running businesses…

Our neighbours…

If you say they should now be deported…

Then mark my words…

We will fight you with everything we have…

Because you are an enemy of national renewal

Kier Starmer couldnt fight his way out of a paper bag.

Yep. And Reform will decimate workers' right etc. Farage and his bankrollers will be raking in the money off the backs of the people who voted for them.

These threads are obviously planted here to drum up 'vibrant' discussion, difficult to amongst all of the flashing ads, so takes some dedication.

Come one MN, this is either MNHQ or the Tabloids. It's like a cheap replica of facebook at this point.

Look to Starmer’s speech not here. If he didn’t want to inflame politics cut out the ridiculous battle language.

'Ultimately if the Government implement the Reform policies.' They won't. Starmer has proven himself to be an utter liar and a dictator.

But Shabana Mahmood is a pretty sharp operator at getting things done. She has been talking in a very similar way to Farage and has the authority as Home Secretary to get it done.

SoOriginal · 01/10/2025 11:50

That’s consistent with what I’ve seen. The press are reporting that Farage, who wants to deport legal immigrants who have been here and contributed for many years, is an enemy.

Where does he say that voters, who rightly want to stop illegal immigration, are the enemy? Or do you support Farage’ plan to deport all immigrants?

You do realize that -

(1) Some people would rather be poorer in a country that feels like the home it used to and less like the disunited mess they feel it has become

(2) There is no law to stop them thinking this way, nor is there some rule of the universe that says finanical welbeing trumps other aspects of wellbeing.

In fact some might say that the person who thinks money is everything is probably the person who's in the wrong.

Edited

Polls are a snapshot, not a prediction.

But that doesn't mean the majority of the electorate who don't support Reform can afford to be complacent. We are going to need to work together to keep that vile man out of No. 10.

shortieshortie · 01/10/2025 11:52

Hey, Farage will never do any of those far right things IF he was ever in government .

His game is to draw attention to himself and Reform and he's baiting KS- who's fallen for it all by getting all worked up and defensive.

He spent more energy talking about Nigel than about what he will do.

Own goal I think?

Reform supporter turns out to be a snowflake.

This is neither unreasonable, nor news.

I wonder if MNHQ could add a "No Shit Sherlock" forum ?

They are told a lie about illegal men- they get exported back home - slowly yes but they have sent tens of thousands back in the first few months of this year - 10% more than in the same period last year

we are not giving illegal men things denied to our own citizens

but also - what exactly do you want since sending them back isn’t enough? Execution squads in the beaches ?

But we are giving immigrant young men more entitlement than our own citizens. An unemployed 24 year old who is a single man who has fallen
on hard times and is desperate would be very unlikely to be given a warm
place to sleep and food to eat if he rocked up at his local council office. He’d be fortunate if he was given a bed in a hostel, let alone being accommodated in a hotel for months on end.

let us remember that
see any similarities? Because I do
