Starmer’s support for Palestine

Steph888 · 21/09/2025 15:39

Am I alone in seeing this as one of the darkest days in UK history?

Never before did I think I’d end up living under a government who reward terrorism.

Starmer and Labour are grotesque. History will not be kind to them. They have now empowered all terrorists and their supporters.

We deserve such better than this reprehensible government. They disgust me.

They literally voted in Hamas to govern them. The parallels with the IRA are ridiculously disingenuous.

Probably not, but that doesn't mean you're right...

No one's free until we all are.

I stand with Palestine

Me too.

It’s widely known that they were not fair elections.

Once again conflating Hamas with the children of palestine is grim. The Palestinian people are not terrorists.

Jesus. Does it really even need saying.

Oh quit with the they voted them in bollocks!!! That was decades ago when more than 50% of the current population were either not yet born or too young to vote. There have been NO elections since. As damn well you know. Stop with your blatant lies and 🐂 💩.

If you knew anything about the freedom fighters of Ireland you would know that Terrorism is created by oppression. It does not spring out of nowhere. And it does not go away when you make martyrs.

Your knowledge of Irish history is ridiculously lacking; and had you any actual knowledge of it the lessons you would learn are not all that dissimilar.

Like the hostages should be free I assume?

Edited

I hope so.

We all knew he was an absolute moron didn't we?! Hes fucked up big time here though. 1.0 to terrorism.

Hasn't Israel had two terrorist prime ministers?

wrongthinker · 21/09/2025 16:14

No, you're not alone.

You'll get a load of crap from posters on here, though, who have fallen hook, line and sinker for the pro-Palestine propaganda, not to mention the anti-semitism.

The truth is Hamas do not want a two-state solution. They have been offered this many times. What they actually want is to murder every Jew and eradicate them from the face of the earth. They have been completely explicit about this.

How anyone can support Hamas is beyond me. Why the hell would you want racist, misogynist, homophobic, violent religious ideologues to have more land and more international support? Fucking stupid, apart from anything else. But they have been really, really good at propagandising and lying.

It’s still their government. They wanted Hamas and they largely still want Hamas. It’s like saying that because Iran isn’t a democracy we’re not going to sanction it because it isn’t the people’s fault. It’s still their country and their government.

I am not against recognition of Palestine per se, but to do it now, when the official government still holds hostages, is appalling.

Freedom fighters? Anyone who murders an innocent civilian is not a freedom fighter.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 21/09/2025 16:20

The government have to object to the murder of the Palestinian people, they most likely would prefer not to recognise Palestine as an independent state, had Israel shown more restraint against starving civilians and gunning down medics and media reporters, then other countries would not be pushing for two states.

caringcarer · 21/09/2025 16:22

It's a hug mistake. Israel will never get their hostages back now. The UK will be on the hook for £3trillion in reparations. KS is the worst PM we have ever had.

Because Israels official government voted in by their citizens are pushing Palestinians into camps in the south of Gaza ready for either death or expulsion while Israeli ministers talk with glee about their 'real estate bonanza' in Gaza and they are planning to annex 82% of the West Bank because their elected leader thinks 'This land is ours'. That's why now.

SirHumphreyRocks · 21/09/2025 16:22

Upbraidy · 21/09/2025 16:18

Freedom fighters? Anyone who murders an innocent civilian is not a freedom fighter.

It depends on whether there is a foreign power attempting to wipe out your culture, your language and your freedom. Learn your Irish history before commenting on what is a just fight.

But ok - what is someone who murders an innocent civilian? A member of the IDF? What do you call them when they murder 65,000 innocent civilians?

amylou8 · 21/09/2025 16:23

It's an appalling decision.
For those of you shouting genocide, if Israel wanted to commit genocide every Palestinian would have been dead months ago.
This terrible war rests squarely on the shoulders of Hamas, and Starmer has just handed them their reward.

Not sure?? Im not clued up with historic pms of Israel.

yummyscummymummy01 · 21/09/2025 16:25

It’s unreasonable that it’s taken so long
Its unreasonable that Palestinian people have had to live the half life they have for so long, not having a state to call their own
its unreasonable for you to not see that the Palestinian people as a whole were not responsible for the horror of the terrorist attack
it’s unreasonable for you not to find the suffering that has followed unacceptable
it is unreasonable of you to allow your hate and fear to blind you to the fact that Israel’s actions have slipped into being a genocide

You are the one on the wrong side of history.

Eyesopenwideawake · 21/09/2025 16:26

In the competition to see who could carry out the worst atrocities, the Israeli government and the IDF has shown themselves to be the masters, with Hamas a very poor second. Those supporting them must be very proud.

I am pretty certain that the women and children who are dying on a daily basis in Palestine due to the actions of The Israeli govt didn't vote at all.
Hamas are scum but Palestine as country has the right to exist and I am glad that for once Starmer is standing up for something

All he is standing up for is his personal gain in the polls

Nopersbro · 21/09/2025 16:29

Nope, you're being ridiculous and your rhetoric is kind of unbelievable. Starmer has been very even-handed in all of this. The only big issue is that he is willing to recognise Palestinian statehood despite the fact that the current regime cannot govern but won't even grant Scotland an independence referendum after its Parliament voted for one.

Osmosisfreight · 21/09/2025 16:30

Doesn’t the current Prime Minister of Israel have an arrest warrant for war crimes? He js just as bad as Hamas. He is pure evil.

You can’t convince Netanyahu supporters that he, along with his henchmen are genocidal maniacs, no amount of stats, proof, witnesses etc can change their minds. His supporters will deny and debunk anything in support of Palestinian's; video’s are fake, kids aren’t starving, Palestine started this all on Oct 7th bla bla bla. They tar all Palestinians with the same brush as Hamas. Shame on them I say.
The least we can do is declare Palestine as a state after all we are still up Israels and the USA’s backside. Makes me sick

I’m not sure you understand about elections and voting. Putting aside the corruption etc, are you aware that not everyone voted for what they actually get? We had a Tory government for over a decade, but I didn’t vote for them ever. Nearly half the population didn’t want Brexit but we got it anyway. You can’t hold an entire population responsible for what a government does. Hopefully that’s made it a bit clearer for you.
