Starmer’s support for Palestine

Steph888 · 21/09/2025 15:39

Am I alone in seeing this as one of the darkest days in UK history?

Never before did I think I’d end up living under a government who reward terrorism.

Starmer and Labour are grotesque. History will not be kind to them. They have now empowered all terrorists and their supporters.

We deserve such better than this reprehensible government. They disgust me.

Given that we aren’t in Germany I’m not sure how much control we have over that shop owner’s actions? Shouldn’t be happening though, I don’t disagree there.

and the faeces smeared across multiple synagogues and Jewish nurseries in London in the last few weeks?

ConveyancingHelll · 21/09/2025 17:04

SerendipityJane · 21/09/2025 17:02

So that would be the UK government then ?

By the OP's logic, yes. The UK, along with every other sovereign state in the world, are 'rewarding terrorism' by recognising Irish statehood.

And Ireland is of course not the only state to have been founded in the midst of terrorism.

InterestedDad37 · 21/09/2025 17:05

The left and the right are gonna hate him for entirely different reasons. So he's on a hiding to nothing. Personally I wholeheartedly agree with his recognition of Palestine, but abhor the de facto bolstering of Israel's military.

Osmosisfreight · 21/09/2025 17:05

Comedycook · 21/09/2025 17:01

To those of you who deny anti Semitism....did you see in the news this week the shop in Germany which had a sign on their window saying no Jews allowed....even had the cheek to claim they weren't anti Semitic. What's that about hey?

Sick racist people are all over the world, my muslim friend was pushed off a tube after the London Bridge attacks. Anti-Semitism is abhorrent, just like an form of racism. People however get fed up of being branded anti-Semitic for criticising Israel.

TicklishReader · 21/09/2025 17:06

Ryah76 · 21/09/2025 17:03

What kind of rubbish are you talking?! The Zionist element of Israel literally walked into the homes of Palestinians , kicked them out, shoved them into pockets of land overlooked by armed guards and took target practice at children who threw rocks!
October kidnapping shouldn’t have happened ( How it did under that Iron Dome is anyone’s guess) but to systemically bomb, starve and intentionally kill civilians under the guise that it’s acceptable because of the October kidnappings is beyond comprehension!
And as a black woman whose ancestors were enslaved and also to highlight the black and brown forgotten victims of Hilter- I don’t wanna hear anything from anyone that even attempts to justify Israel’s actions- or labelling anyone who opposes what’s happening as anti semitic - give me a break!

Say it louder.👏

Honesting · 21/09/2025 17:06

SirHumphreyRocks · 21/09/2025 17:00

@Honesting The only solution ever acceptable to the majority of them was a final solution, ie all of the Levant being a Palestinian state.

I see. Well there was another thread that so many posters overlooked for some reason, so I offer an opportunity to those supporting the Israeli government to comment here:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5y59z6rznvo.amp
Short version - Israeli minister says that the war on Palestine will end with a "final solution" of "maximum land with minimum Arabs".

Pot,kettle, black? Stated intention to expand across all Palestinian land by any means necessary.

The key difference between the Israeli right wing version of 'from the river to the sea', and the Palestinian one, is that Arabs live in Israel as full fledged citizens with equal rights. Whereas in PA governed territories it's illegal to sell property to a Jew.

If all of the WB and Gaza was formally annexed, it would only matter in terms of sovereignty, ie under which flag people live. But if the Palestinian fantasy would become reality, Israel would made Judenrein.

Spiritofeden87 · 21/09/2025 16:10

It’s widely known that they were not fair elections.

Once again conflating Hamas with the children of palestine is grim. The Palestinian people are not terrorists.

Jesus. Does it really even need saying.

The reality is much darker and harder in my view.

The population of Palestine is deeply radicalised. The polling data on support for Hamas, or other Islamist groups, or for the Oct 7 attacks, or on Jews in general, makes very uncomfortable reading for anyone who wants to draw a clean line between Hamas the baddies and the Palestinian people the goodies. It would be much more confortable for everyone (including me) if that weren’t true. But it is.

That’s not where the dark and hard moral issues end though. Because who can say that they themselves would not also feel like that in the same environment.

What’s the moral and practically correct way to deal with a society of people with deeply ingrained racist supremacist views and murderous intent, who hold those views because that is all they have known and they too are human.

PollyPaintsFlowers · 21/09/2025 17:07

Whatado · 21/09/2025 15:47

Anyone who supports the Israeli government and then has the audacity to talk about the horrors of the holocaust in the same sentence is a hypocritic of the highest order.

For all those dismissing antisemitism being at the root of 'Pro-Palestinianism', just take a look at how many of those wonderful humanitarians on the hate marches are holding banners calling for the release of the hostages or condemning Hamas for their actions. You'll find more antisemitic imagery on the marches than you'll find anything pro-Jew

WhineAndWine1 · 21/09/2025 17:08

One of the darkest days @Steph888wise up

Honesting · 21/09/2025 17:09

Spiritofeden87 · 21/09/2025 17:03

Yes I know- that’s what I mean when I say the Palestinians are treated differently in Area C. But the settlers are given free rein. It’s one of the reasons Starmer has given for recognising palestinian statehood today.

You said: What about the West Bank that’s governed by the Palestinian authority (nothing to do with Hamas) where Israel has just announced yet more illegal expansion of its settlements?

That is simply untrue.

OhMaria2 · 21/09/2025 17:09

Are Price Tag attacks considered terrorism?

SirHumphreyRocks · 21/09/2025 17:09

Vivi0 · 21/09/2025 16:57

You said that “very few people just hate Jews”, the inference being that antisemetism is a very small, minor issue in the world.

Thousands of years of documented human histoty tells a very different story, thus to say that “very few people just hate Jews” is disgusting lies.

Report me.

Edited

Slavery was an acceptable practice for thoiusands of years. Very few people consider it so now. We are fortunately able to rise above our history. And I inferred nothing - you are the one who "inferred" and continue to do so. If you want to believe that most people hate Jews then you do you, but I literally don't ever come across them. And just to be clear I know lots of Muslims who don't hate Jews and I know lots of Jews who hate what the Israeli government are doing. The world is such a complex place, isn't it?

PollyPaintsFlowers · 21/09/2025 17:10

Thegreyhound · 21/09/2025 16:48

It is really quite outrageous to say that recognising a Palestinian state is incompatible with honouring the holocaust.
I honestly don’t know how it is possible to come to this conclusion.
All the people I know honour the holocaust, the victims of 9/11 and the victims of the genocide in Gaza. To pick and choose is to deny humanity

Not outrageous at all. Our terrorist sympathiser of a leader has rewarded the perpetrators of the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust and while Jewish hostages are still being kept captive in Gaza

ByShyRaven · 21/09/2025 17:10

caringcarer · 21/09/2025 16:22

It's a hug mistake. Israel will never get their hostages back now. The UK will be on the hook for £3trillion in reparations. KS is the worst PM we have ever had.

Apart from Boris, Liz Truss, Dave Cameron, May.

On the other hand you could also argue Israeli Jews are also radicalised (brainwashed even) to hate Palestinians, we’ve all seen video’s and interviews about it

It is indeed a dark day. Irrespective of what you think of Palestine and Israel, what Starmer has done is bow down to terrorists. This was Hamas’s plan all along to garner the sympathy of the useful idiots. I’m so angry at this man who has sold my country and its ethics down the river. He is stupid and immoral. He has rewarded the rape, torture and murder of women and children. Disgusting human being.

I dont think anyone is saying Antisemitism is OK or justified. It's abhorrent.

Moonlightbean123 · 21/09/2025 17:12

I think you really need to educate yourself on the history of the Palestinians and how the Israeli government has been conducting themselves in the 75 years plus illegal occupation. Are you aware that many years before oct 7th, the Israeli government has been accused of abusing the Palestinians taking children on bogus charges (throwing stones at soldiers) and then placing them in prison for many years, they've been accused of sexual abuse against children and not to mention the abuse from the settlers, and the British government are the force behind the forced displacement of these ppl 75 years ago. Hamas are beyond vile, so is the Israeli government. Not the ppl. Not the civilians. They all deserve peace. Israel has no right to be is gaza for 75 years.. where was your disgust then ? Your thread is shameful. Begrudging these ppl an end to war simply because you don't like Muslims.

Maybe you should educate yourself of 5000 years of Jewish history and stop bolstering the anti semitic torturers. Rapists and murders.

Starmer and anyone who supports him are appeasers

You know its not one or the other. You can think that what Hamas did is horrendous whilst also recognising the need to protect the ordinary men, women and children in Palestine

Exactly this
