Starmer’s support for Palestine

Steph888 · 21/09/2025 15:39

Am I alone in seeing this as one of the darkest days in UK history?

Never before did I think I’d end up living under a government who reward terrorism.

Starmer and Labour are grotesque. History will not be kind to them. They have now empowered all terrorists and their supporters.

We deserve such better than this reprehensible government. They disgust me.

If you want to talk history, maybe look at what happened to the Jews in the Centuries after the colonising Islamic Empire captured Jerusalem.

and maybe find out what "apartheid" means. It doesn't mean maintaining sensible barriers to protect yourself against psychopaths.

prove what your saying with real documented footage
show Jordan stealing peoples homes

Israel has seized land illegally and it’s been documented time and time again and proven in court
even by your beloved bbc
and that is absolutely correct

The so called “Right to return”

Come and live here
we will give you a home
but instead they are stealing homes and land

He says in the clip
“if I don’t steal it, someone else will!”
At least he was honest, I give him that

imagine that
someone knocking on your door and saying
I’m taking over your house
You need to leave
because over 2000 years ago I was promised this land and my forefathers lived here

It’s actually unbelievable when you think how insane this is!

And it’s been happening for decades
it has nothing to do with Hamas because areas like the West Bank are not governed by them

there are countless documents including the bbc showing them bullying people out of their own homes in the most aggressive manner

Sorry, no can do.

They didn't have tik-tok or YouTube in 1949.

But it's all in the history books for anyone who wants to read it.

peasporrige · 11/10/2025 08:49

@VaccineSticker "Also- You blame the neighbouring nations for not saving them but you don’t blame the oppressor? Wow."

The day after Israel declared independence in1948, it was attacked and surrounded by the armies of five Arab nations.

Maybe you would like to review your ideas as to who the "oppressor/s was/were ?

ThatCyanCat · 11/10/2025 09:09

"Apartheid" is such a ridiculous lie. About 20% of Israeli citizens aren't Jewish, they have the same rights as other citizens and are Knesset members, they use all the same services and facilities, they're Israeli! Prior to October 7, many Palestinians had hospital treatment in Israel and charities existed to drive them there from the border and back. Yahya Sinwar had surgery in Israel for a brain tumour while he was a prisoner there.

There are plenty of legitimate criticisms one can make about Israel, as with any country, but this tactic of pulling up established past atrocities like the Holocaust or apartheid and just flinging them at the Jewish state is lazy, dishonest and exploitative. It delegitimises a person's arguments to resort to this kind of thing.

Which history books?
Name them

Other than copy and paste lengthy writings throughout this whole thread which is getting quite boring, you haven’t brought anything substantial or documented or proven
which is why I won’t be responding to you anymore @peasporrige

The organisations you mention sound grand but don't amount to a hill of beans.

The International Court of justice can only advise, it has no power to enforce any rulings. In short a "talking shop" with no legal authority.

Amnesty International is a NGO - non governmental organisation, so ditto.

Human Rights Watch is just a pressure group.

sunflower1022 · 12/10/2025 17:13

Bridget Phillipson said on ‘Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips’ that the UK had played a key role in the peace deal.

Sharren Haskel (Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs) has roundly rejected that claim.

Of course any decent person hopes that there will be peace. But I’m afraid I don’t trust Hamas, not one bit.

ThatCyanCat · 12/10/2025 18:13

Anyone who trusts Hamas is a fool. If they make any agreement they will renege when it suits them.

@Mihrimah "and man made famine and starvation of children two years on"

The food is there - ask the UN why they aren't distributing it.

"almost 60 percent of casualties are under the age of 15" well as half of Gaza's population is under 18 so, statistically, that's not surprising.

It begs the question as to why people are producing children when they have to rely on overseas aid to feed them? Why should others foot the bill for their irresponsibility?

Just before these children were born in 2018 the US government, announced it was stopping its funding to the UN Relief Works and Agency after determining the organisation to be an “irredeemably flawed operation”. (ie infiltrated by Hamas)
Despite this reduction in aid the population still chose to produce children. So IMO these people are authors of their own misfortune.

What a disgusting post. You are actually arguing that Palestinians should not be having children and are starving themselves? This in the face of overwhelming evidence, acknowledged globally, that Israel is committing genocide , specifically targeting children and witholding aid including baby formula to deliberately starve the poplulation. The denial is beyond belief.

‘Why should others foot the bill for their irresponsibility?’

Seriously?

Israel gets billions in foreign aid:

How much aid does the US give to Israel?
Israel has received more foreign aid from the US than any other country since WWII.

I am saying that people should not have more children than they can afford to feed and look after'

Are you happy to pay for feckless people in this country that have multiple children when they are on benefits?

In 2025/26, the FCDO (Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office UK) has allocated £24.5 million in bilateral aid for India (this does not include aid through multilateral bodies). India has a Space Programme. I object to that being paid out of my taxes.

Aid to Israel is to help to protect it against the homicidal terrorist group that controls it's neighbour. I think it's money well-spent.

"This in the face of overwhelming evidence, acknowledged globally, that Israel is committing genocide , specifically targeting children and witholding aid including baby formula to deliberately starve the poplulation."

It isn't "acknowledged globally".

https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/defense-news/article-860793

I see you have fallen for the Hamas propaganda. This has now been debunked

www.thejc.com/news/israel/un-chief-who-made-false-claim-about-14-000-babies-dying-doubles-down-on-gaza-starvation-brd16uw1

Ellen2shoes · 13/10/2025 09:07

It has not been debunked, what utter tosh.

Babies have been deliberately starved. Children have been targeted by snipers. Medical staff, journalists and their families have been been murdered with intent to stifle truth and prevent healthcare. Entire bloodlines have been deliberately wiped. Witness statements and footage given by countless doctors along with actual footage testify the truth and will be evidenced in court - but sadly not soon enough.

And you in the light of this, air the grotesque view that Palestinians should not be having children? What you are saying about ‘these people’ is that they don’t have the right to exist. It’s vile.

You believe it’s acceptable to send tax payers’ billions to Israel to fund this genocide and to encourage and enable illegal settlers to throw Palestinians out of their homes so that the usurpers can start lives in their stolen houses on stolen land? Where is your morality?

You appear to not understand that evidence has been seen by ordinary people on news feeds all over the world and no amount of denial can erase it. It is pointless conversing with you as you clearly live in genocide denying bubble fed by the Israeli propaganda machine.

Beachtastic · 13/10/2025 10:10

The United States has provided over $5.2 billion to Palestinians since 1994, partly directed to Gaza via UNRWA and other channels (which probably explains why UNRWA turned out to be so corrupt). Germany and other EU countries contribute tens of millions annually, especially for "water and infrastructure projects." Guess where the money went?

UN agencies spent nearly $4.5 billion in Gaza from 2014 to 2020 alone, with $600 million in 2020.

Qatar has provided $1.3 billion since 2012, including $360 million pledged for 2021. Egypt pledged $500 million in 2021 for "reconstruction."

So they are not short of a few bob. They only appear to be skint because instead of investing all that dosh into what they said they wanted the money for, Hamas have spent 20 years building an elaborate network of tunnels from which to destroy Israel. They have only one focus, and that is genocide.

Hamas ensured the greatest possible harm to Gazans by siting its operation centres under schools and hospitals, not providing any shelter (Israel built an Iron Dome to protect its citizens from the constant rocket attacks from Gaza), and not wearing a uniform so that typical military combat is impossible (combatants indistiguishable from civilians). They also, of course, claim that everyone killed was not Hamas. How would you like to have seen Israel respond to the genodical terror attacks of 7/10?

The jury is out on whether Israel committed genocide or not, so it is premature and misleading to keep saying that they have.

Okay let me humour you for a moment that the massive bombardment of the cities was because that's where Hamas or is operation centres, to treat the people as human shields. That's what you believe right?

If that's the case, why is 98% of Gazan farmland damaged to the extent it can't produce crops?

Not with genocide, that's for sure. It's an inexcusable, never crime for a reason.

And before you start saying 'but it's not a genocide', I think I'll trust the UN and Amnesty International over an anonymous Mumsnetter anyday 😂
