Just picturing having Trump as a house guest ...

Can imagine the scene last night in Windsor Castle. Glum faces at dinner.
''God this time tomorrow he'll be here ...''

Or maybe not!? Maybe he's great?

I wonder if he brings his own hairdresser along with him ?

I wonder if he's a happy morning person or if he has breakfast in his room?

Does everyone have to sit about downstairs and wait for him to come down?

😀

I thought the king should have turned up with a new crown, 4 ft tall that towered over trump. I'd imagine that would have enraged trump and we would have seen him up the ante every day of the state visit with capes and so on to make him look more powerful.

My guess is melania uses the hat as some kind of sensory shield from it all. I bet she's also drugged up the eyeballs just to get through a few hours of being near him.

coxesorangepippin · 18/09/2025 01:58

He'll be good as gold

WiddlinDiddlin · 18/09/2025 03:26

Ugh..

'This is very shiny, a tremendously shiny 'objet', do you know that word, its french for beautiful thing, very old fashioned, nobodies ever heard it before.
Can I touch this, I love gold, things made from gold are my favourite, can I have this, I'll take this, this is a very beautiful thing...'

Castle Staff: 'Please put that down Sir, it's 300 years old..'

Trumpkin: ' But I really love it, they gave me the World Cup, only winners get that you know, I'm a winner, I'm a very smart guy so you have to give me this, I don't mind that its very old, I'll have my people pack it up for me...'

Castle Staff: ' I must insist Sir, you cannot pack that up, that is the toilet seat'...

On a more sober note, ensuring all women are escorted at all times by a no nonsense companion who doesn't take any shit from anyone. Just to back them up should he get a bit frisky.

and any women/ men giiven the night off if they want.

Why is Mrs T wearing that hat? No one in the RF will notice if her hair is a bit mussed up:) camilla won't care and trumps hair has a life of its own.

I read somewhere that he doesn’t drink alcohol but does have well done steak along with a Coke (coca cola) very often. I don’t think he troubles salad and veg very much.

I could overlook the corruption, the cruelty and the abuse of power, but eating steak well done is really beyond the pale.

itsgettingweird · 18/09/2025 04:46

Well you wouldn’t need to worry about thinking up interesting conversation.

He’ll be happy to do all the talking and I’m not even sure he’d care if you listened and/or responded.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 18/09/2025 05:25

You could play Buzzword Bingo.

Bigly, very beautiful etc

This one

😂😂😂Every time I see that photo I crack up.

Why? What is Melania thinking?

I reckon someone just might make a standing lamp just like it and market it for the corners of people’s lounge rooms.

I read a comment that said, ‘I had to check her hands to work out which way she was facing.’

I reckon the gold carriage is on lockdown.

ThreeFeetTall · 18/09/2025 06:22

Camilla campaigns against domestic abuse. To have to make small talk with Donald ‘grab them by the pussy’ Trump must be galling.

When Obama came over there was a very cute moment when he met price George when the boy was in a dressing gown. Hopefully the kids are too busy at school to meet this president Confused

drspouse · 18/09/2025 07:13

Looks like some choir girls and choirboys had to meet him.

He eats like the overgrown child he is.

I've read this too- well done steak with a wedge of iceberg lettuce and ranch dressing is your standard state dinner at the White House. And he loves his McDonalds. I would love to know if he ate his "British' dinner and what was served.

Mind you, even Obama travelled with a few litres of his blood type so who knows what the wacky one insists on!

I think that is not personal choice but a precaution stipulated by the presidential security service.

theDudesmummy · 18/09/2025 07:37

@DustyBlue you can see exactly what the menu was. DH and I discussed it for most of the evening, see my post above. We think they were taking the P...

I was actually wondering if they will spend time together after the official banquet having a few drinks and a laugh. Politics aside, I think all four of them (Charles, Camilla, Donald & Melania) could be quite good company.

Really boggling how anyone could think Trump might be 'good company' given that all he comes out with is incoherent narcissistic drivel (not to mention being a slimy sexually abusive misogynist). I wonder how his dementia plays out in private conversations when he's not got a script to follow.

Needspaceforlego · 18/09/2025 07:47

Obviously when they arrive at the castle they are taken for dinner etc then probably escorted to the bedroom / suite at the end of the night.

How does it work for breakfast with these things?
Do they get told breakfast is at say 8am?
And they make their own way down do they get escorted from the bedrooms to breakfast?
I have to assume they are escorted.

Do footmen / castle people patrol the corridors at night?
Does Trump ring for his escort or is some poor sod got the job of waiting outside his room all night?

PermanentTemporary · 18/09/2025 07:50

I can imagine it being a kind of game that you get used to, making conversation flow with a succession of the world’s strangest people. Must be exhausting though. Presumably they get briefed on top topics (‘wonderful golf course Mr President, where will the next one be?’)

I didn’t think I would ever say this and am a very very milquetoast republican (mainly that I don’t think children should have to grow up like that) but KC is being a decent king and at the moment I feel like he is like an uncle who looks after a bunch of weird older relatives for us. Thank goodness we don’t have to do it.

OneFairMintFawn · 18/09/2025 07:51

I love him! He's got character!

theDudesmummy · 18/09/2025 08:07

You "love" a misogynist sex offending moron with multiple criminal convictions, who is a stooge of the American far right? Well, each to their own I guess.

I like that description!
Trump had a fantastic experience and called it the greatest honour of his life. The world is a dangerous place and this is soft diplomacy at it's best.
I would say that this has been a very successful trip.

theDudesmummy · 18/09/2025 08:19

The fact that Murdoch was invited (and attended) highlights what a game/show it all is, all for the benefit of capitalism and the preservation/enrichment of the global "elite". It was ever thus though. A brief period last century of thinking things could be different has vanished.

To drink?

BiddyPopthe2nd · 18/09/2025 08:24

I saw on a news report last night that the First Couple had two separate suites, and that he insisted on using his own sheets he brought from the US.

I cannot imagine him being an easy guest - ever. The sense I get from watching a lot of his interactions with World Leaders and the Press Corps is of someone who is always right, demands what HE thinks is perfect, and the best of the best, regardless of how hard it is for the peop around him, and not a nice person - so conversations would be totally walking on eggshells.

MoFadaCromulent · 18/09/2025 08:38

I'd say they're fucking loving it, Trump is exactly their kind of people
