Which country will you move to if Reform win next election?

Faced with the prospect of NHS being sold off, ICE-style immigration raids and deportations, emboldened bigots, changes to the school curriculum, public services dessimated, leaving EHCR, I honestly think I'll have no choice but to leave. I don't want to but I couldn't bring DC up in fascist state.

Luckily my DH, DC and I are all dual nationals of an EU country so we have an escape route if needed and this country goes to the dogs.

Where would you go?

Where there's a will there's a way. Love big bird.

Oh, you're so wonderfully helpful.

Thank you so much!

I don't have any plans to emigrate whoever wins the next GE.

I generally like the UK. I was born here, most of my family and friends are here. I like the climate, countryside and I'm fluent in English 😁

Obviously if Reform got in and they started mass murdering people or opening work camps I'd think again but I think that's unlikely.

I'd even stay if the Greens won the election 😁

Why does everyone think if you don't like Reform then you love Labour???

No I don't like Labour, they're a terrible disappointment, there are no decent parties anymore apart from some of the smaller ones

My partner said the same thing. He was disappointed with Kier. We won't have a decent government for a long time. When we voted leave it's because we don't like anyone to prosper and be happy. English people want to be poor whatever happens ot will never affect the rich. Farage and the reform party wants to make a name for themselves they don't care about the British people they want to fill their pockets. They won't give them affordable housing because it will affect them. They can't see the poverty ahead so let them vote them in. I am staying where I am I will continue to cook my food and eat proper so I don't care about the people who want to vote for reform. Good luck to them. When they see PIP and UC deplete then they'll fart.

I won’t though I have two passports and will have my 3rd by then.

Either somehow Reform will do a good job which is great.

Or they will be a shitshow and I will hang around to see if their voter take accountability.

My fear though is it will be a shitshow with an explosion in racism.

If I was muslim I would be definitely looking for my exit plan.

DC and I could get Irish passports, so that would open some options for us. DP might have to marry me for a passport ;)

Your DP can't get an Irish passport, even if you are married. He would need to live in Ireland and go through naturalisation process.

MaybeNotBob · 15/09/2025 23:07

I'd love to hear your suggestions of how to make it easier.

But you don't have any. You're just another paid shill for the right wing trying to wind up people in order to get them banned for your masters.

Stop bleating on a go if it's so dire.

If you can't win an argument, resort to an insult.
It's the same in real life too when you attempt to debate with a Reform supporter, most can't verbalise anything beyond 'kick em out''....

Crikeyalmighty · 15/09/2025 23:08

@Tauranga very easy to say you want some of these things if you are not in power and having to fund it - Basically policies on back of a fag packet - you explain to me how he will fund councils that can’t manage at the business rate levels they are getting in or fund any services on lower tax take? You will end up like the US , but without the better aspects of US like integrated trade - The US is its own EU in terms of market size. And the race thing too, I think we all know Farage and co don’t care about race provided they have pots of money and influence - so he’s ok with very rich brown people who can fund him and we all know plenty of people of all ethnenticities can be racist too - about other ethnenticities or even other country’s.

I also have an EU passport, thank god. I’m thinking Spain.

Where do you think Muslims can go thst easily? Except perhaps Dubai.

Or those of us who "look Muslim".

I am on the same page as you. Once I start seeing that then see you later GB you can keep it. My partner is ready for war when they start. Even he says they are all pussy holes they will run when you charge towards them.

Canopop · 15/09/2025 20:37

This is scaremongering I don’t know anyone in real life who supports reform I really hope it isn’t a thing 😢

A lot of people who don’t vote for left-wing political parties choose not to admit to it in real life because of the backlash they would get from people they know in real life who do. A lot of my mum friends openly admit to voting Labour and when any of them talk politics, they talk about voting Labour (or Lib Dem) as if it’s the only rational choice. None of them know I vote Conservative. I should imagine I would lose a lot of friends if they knew.

Iamnotalemming · 15/09/2025 23:10

YABU: Reform will not win the election. More likely they will decimate the tory vote and we will have a lib lab Coalition, which doesn't fill me with confidence either.
YABU to vote Plaid as well. They are too interested in nationalistic policies at the expense of decent jobs and opportunities for the younger generation. I dont agree that this is 'caring about Wales'.

And this is exactly the kind of attitude that I believe will tip Reform to winning.

The sweeping statements about the average Reform voters.
I think the sneering will come back to bite a few on the bum.

Cluborange666 · 15/09/2025 23:11

The only thing keeping me going right now is that we all have Irish passports and I work online for myself, We can bugger off if we have to.

And what about Corbyn’s new party? I expect Labour will lose a lot of voters to them

MumsTheWordFact · 15/09/2025 21:33

Don't worry, Reform are pulling a fast one. They're not really going to get rid of all the illegal immigrants. Compared to the governments of most countries they're extremely soft on both legal and illegal immigration, you only think I'm joking because you're ignorant. It just shows you how far left a lot of the Anglosphere and a few western European countries have become that so many people think that Reform are 'Nazis'.

Perhaps it’s Reform’s populism, proposing of mass deportations and inflammatory rhetoric that is also partly responsible for the comparison. Just a thought.

Huntrix · 15/09/2025 23:12

We're going to Finland if shit hits the fan. 😁
