I’ll start with one of my less dark ones. I didn’t care when my father died.

One of my ex's was a complete pillock and it turns out that he really wasn't a nice person either. I haven't seen him for about ten years.

But ... by a cruel trick of nature we had great chemistry and he was the only man I ever orgasmed with, so the only way I can erm, climax by pleasuring myself is to fantasise about him. I do slightly despise myself for this. Years after we split up, this guy badly beat up one of his own friends.

Not letters - they will be found among my belongings.

I'm not sure that I ever want to have sex again and I'm sad about that.

I used to plan what I'd wear to my mothers funeral for years before she died - I recommend it to anyone who knows they'll be relieved when the day comes. She had Altzheimers.

I want to like dogs. They're so enthusiastic, loyal and affectionate.

But I could live in a dog-free world very happily. They bark, they smell awful, they dribble everywhere, no park seems to be free of their mess, and far too many of them end up savaging people, cats or other dogs.

I think I could kill my horrible ex with no guilt at all, and that I'd never crack under interrogation about it.

I wish bad things to befall my ex h because of the mental torture he put me through.

Mainly Lamotrigine which was actually prescribed for my focal awareness seizures. A few years prior I had a mirena coil fitted and started on Estrogel which helped but Lamotrigine changed everything.

I actually tried to plan a murder once. Not an ex, but someone at the extreme end of horrible. However, I could see no way it could remain undetected. It would therefore be immaterial whether or not I could stand up under interrogation. I did not want to do time, so did not proceed. They could well be dead by now anyway, this was many years ago. And I did tell one other person, so it does not quite qualify for this thread.

There''s a large cardboard box on the floor of my wardrobe and in it I have every single empty Marmite jar that I have ever finished. If it's been a shite day at work I like to count them to remind myself I am 83 (latest count) Marmite jars old, which is a real fucking accomplishment you tossers.

I spent years wishing this.
Started using the time to 'get my ducks in a row' and we - finally- split 2 years ago.
We are both happier, and actually get on better than we had for years. The kids get it, the response from one was 'should have happened years ago' and from the other 'I'm so proud of you for doing this'.

I promise you can do it. Life really is too short.

What pushed me to do it? Knowing that I wasn't seeing the right example to my (late teen) DC by staying. Maybe look at your situation like that. What advice would you give your DC if they were in the same position?
