So here we are- they have a suspect.
The very little we know about his politics suggests he was likely to be right wing, and came from a family/ culture that supported Trump. He also is said to be an introvert, in to video games , and possibly quite mentally unwell.

So there we have it- fancy that - when you live in a context where people have access to guns and some minority of people are not well, people get shot.

Nothing to do with the evils of the “left”. Nothing to do with trans people or “trans ideology”. Just senseless violence, because people who are not well have access to guns.

So what are we going to take/ learn from this?

Do you mean men in women’s sports?

What on earth is a trans furry? Is that some sort of made up word to belittle trans people? And how do you know he was involved with said trans? Were you there? Just saying because I've lived with plenty plenty of flat mates on my younger years and was never in a relationship with any of them (ok I might have had a drunken shag once or twice against my better judgement 🤣

Edited

His boyfriend is cooperating with the police/FBI, unlike Robinson himself.

Yes, that is me, and in a further comment I did state there was another story about the trans partner in the press and I wanted to wait and see what came out before forming an actual opinion on it. Did I not?

You spouted a lot of unsubstantiated speculation from Reddit/Bluesky as fact and then have the nerve to berate people for not thinking the governor of Utah is credible enough, because of your wild conspiracy theory. LOL.

I didn’t spout anything as ‘’fact’’. I said I had read about goypers and CK’s association and subsequent fall out with TR and that it sounded plausible. I then said that there was also another story that he had a trans roommate/partner and I guess we would have to wait. How is that spouting anything as fact?

The one and only thing I did state as ‘fact’ was that his college ‘friends’ story about him being left wing had been retracted from the guardian after people tried citing that as stone cold evidence. That’s all. Don’t be deliberately dishonest.

Wow interesting take! So true - great points

Thanks, I was quite impressed by it myself. It took a lot of brain power but I am glad it came to a nice logical conclusion. It’s not often that happens 😂

InWalksBarberalla · 14/09/2025 23:51

People seemed happy enough to take the governor of Utah and FBI representatives words about the words on the casing as facts when they had AI-generated drivel telling them it meant the shooter was after right groyper. But now the authorities are saying he was in a romantic relationship with a male transitioning to female and he displayed left wing views we can no longer trust what they say.

That cautious tone isn’t at all how you worded it, the post of yours I quoted was lol faces and smug to the max, apparently “the idea that he was left wing has been retracted” which was complete fake news bollocks.

The Guardian is not the sole arbiter of news about this case, is it? The assumption was always that he was more likely to be left than right, and the evidence of his friends and family pointed that way, whatever the Guardian said or didn’t say.

I laughed because somebody literally quoted the guardian and declared from that one piece of information from someone he attended college with seven years ago and who didn’t know him very well, that he was a leftist (even though that had since been pulled for accuracy concerns).

I then gave what I heard and said he sounded like a goyper (NOT that he ‘’was’’ - that would be presenting it as fact, which I didn’t do). I then linked the article because I thought it made interesting reading whether true or not. I later accepted there was a conflicting report of a trans partner/roommate and that we’d have to wait for more solid information.

I did not say the guardian was the sole arbiter of the story, where do you get that from? It wasn’t me that quoted the guardian as gospel in the first place, it was another poster so I don’t know what your point is. What I will say though, is at least the guardian had the good grace to pull that information when the reliability was questionable - unlike some media outlets.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2025 00:15

It’s “groyper” not “goyper”. There was always evidence that he was more likely to be on the left. There was a lot of noise trying to push the “right wing” argument. It was just speculation.

Excuse my typo where I missed one letter out of a word I’d never heard until two days ago. Unsure what you pointing it out adds to the debate?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2025 00:17

No you didn’t say the Guardian was the sole arbiter, I’m saying that it isn’t. I’m glad we agree. The Guardian was very much playing catch up to other news sources.

you've used it multiple times. I wasn’t adding to the debate per se, just correcting the term. If it were me I’d want to know if I got something wrong.

so, because I made a spelling mistake with a completely new (to me) word, in which I missed the R out a couple of times and I’m unlikely to ever use again in my life after this story has concluded, you think it’s in some way helpful to me? I can’t see what the point was, unless you were just trying to bring me down a peg or two because you couldn’t get me anywhere else.

It’s funny you say you’d want to know if you got something wrong, because you’ve been told that you’re wrong to make premature bold assumptions based on news reports, but you don’t seem to like that.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2025 00:29

I’ve been told, have I? 😂

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2025 00:30

I didn’t say you had got anything wrong per se, but I said you are wrong to make bold assumptions based on news reports that are being put out when it benefits the US government to make you think a certain way.

It’s sensible to wait for the full facts and question your sources and biases before you go declaring facts. I don’t think you like that idea though.

So I haven’t actually got anything wrong with my “bold assumptions” based on following the case closely 🤣 good to know

That’s the entire point though, isn’t it? We can’t say if you’ve got anything wrong or right at this stage because we don’t have the facts. I can’t say either way. What’s ‘’wrong’’ in this context is the fact you’re declaring news articles as fact without questioning whether or not they are accurate, and what might be the motivation behind running with a particular narrative?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/09/2025 00:56

Where have I declared news articles as fact? I’m not going on news articles. Other people are and I don’t think that’s unreasonable.
