Woman shouted because Dd wee’d in the car park

Hetoldherthatmagicdoesntexist · 05/09/2025 21:56

Dd, 6 and I were at the supermarket today
We were in a rush, had walked all the way back to car, I was struggling with three large bags, putting them in the boot.
Dd was moaning and difficult most of the day, she said she was desperate for the toilet. I said to just wait a moment as I had to put the bags in etc and we’d go back. She started getting upset saying she was really desperate and about to wee and could she wee by our car quickly. I let her.
As I was fastening her car seat, an older woman walked past and shouted’There are loos inside you know!’ in not a very nice way. I shouted back ‘Excuse me?’ She said she was just saying there were loos inside that can be used (again, it wasn’t said in a nice way’ I said to her ‘She’s 6 years and was desperate and couldn’t hold it in, she’s 6!’ She pulled a face and got in her car.
Dd was upset and asked if she’d done something wrong and felt scared of the mean lady.

It really pissed me off, was I out of order??

When potty training my 2 yo, we had to stop there and then at times. 6 years old? No excuse. grim.

The child said she couldn't wait.
Are you saying she was lying?

to be fair I genuinely hate this and I surely cannot be the only one.

Yeah you’re not - I hate it too. Some outside areas just stink of dog piss nowadays.

And I stay in a flat building, third floor - I really wish dogs weren’t allowed in our building or at least not on the upper floors because on more than one occasion a dog has pissed in the lift so there’s either a pool of piss or some dribbles on the floor . It’s gross.

They do it everywhere.

I suspect I’ve seen it on the carpet sometimes too but that’s harder to detect.

50Balesofgrey · 05/09/2025 23:22

Why the apostrophe, OP?

It’s a bit of children’s wee… Fine with me!

Children's wee isn't magical unicorn perfume scented potion, it's still human urine. Never mind that the whole thing is so inappropriate for a 6 year old!

The thing is where does it stop. If she is busy playing in the garden and it's too far to go indoors to the toilet, is it ok to just go in the garden? I was a nursery teacher for 3 and 4 year olds. We very occasionally had a child completely toilet trained but thought it ok to just we outside in our garden when they needed it as they had obviously done so at home. These children were quite capable of coming inside when needed and a 6 year old should certainly do so and should know the right thing to do by that age. If she thinks it is ok in the supermarket carpark I wonder where else she thinks is ok to go.

MsSmartShoes · 05/09/2025 23:24

Sometimes kids need an emergency wild wee.grown men pee as freely as dogs.

Petitchat · 05/09/2025 23:25

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 05/09/2025 21:58

That's disgusting.

Not as disgusting as people who seem to think the little girl should just wet herself.

ClassicalQueen · 05/09/2025 23:25

That’s disgusting, of course she should use the toilet, she’s 6! My children would have been able to hold it whilst we walked back across the car park even much younger than 6.

StressedOot3 · 05/09/2025 23:25

And if I get banned for that, zero fucks given 'cause this website's literally gone to the dogs, full of fannies who bounce around between here and tattle being nasty cows to everyone thinking they're something special behind their screen.

DurinsBane · 05/09/2025 23:25

In my mind 6 is too old to do this. But I wouldn’t say anything, maybe your child has health issues or additional needs? I would maybe judge you in secret 😁

Livelovebehappy · 05/09/2025 23:26

Hetoldherthatmagicdoesntexist · 05/09/2025 21:59

She was weeing, can’t hold her wee for long sometimes and would not have made it in time

Then you need to have a sit down talk with her about letting you know as soon as she needs a wee so that you have enough notice to make sure she visits a toilet. She’s six so should be able to understand. It’s awful just allowing her to wee in the middle of the car park. If she does that at school, other children are not going to be kind, and she will be teased and possibly bullied.

LovelySunnyDayToday · 05/09/2025 23:21

This. I honestly can’t get worked up about a kid having a pee.

Ditto. Amazed at the absolute outrage and disgust here 😂 How can you get wound up about a bit of child wee. Get a fucking grip 😂

Petitchat · 05/09/2025 23:25

No, she shouldn’t wet herself, but seems to be a common problem as OP indicates her dd regularly waits until the last minute, so it needs to be addressed before it becomes a bigger problem. Maybe it’s attention seeking if it’s a regular thing?

HuckleberryBlackcurrant · 05/09/2025 23:29

If she was a toddler potty training, it's ok if you have a potty with you and have her sit in the car. At 6, throw the three bags in the car and walk back in. If she wees on herself then hopefully she will learn her lesson to tell you before she leaves the shop. I do have sympathy as I have a 6yo but I wouldn't let him wee in a car park.

Anonomoso · 05/09/2025 23:29

We were in a crowded park a few weeks ago, children's play area with a little fun fair next to it so very busy with people.

A little girl was walking towards us on the foot path and shouted wee wee...instantly a woman with her pulled up the little girls dress, no underwear on, all on show and the child proceed to piss in front of everyone...stream of piss running towards us.

Even her friend called her gross but she didn't see anything wrong with it.

Definitely disgusting, IMO, but not uncommon.

Wellshellsbells · 05/09/2025 23:30

I’ve pissed in a car park before! Also Pissed on the side of the road.see men pissing at the side of pitches all the time.its a bodily function not an amthrax attack! If pissing in the car park is the worst thing she does , you’ll be lucky x

Sodastreamin · 05/09/2025 23:32

Revolting.
Also I hate that this has to be a consideration in today’s society but if that lady could see then so could any predators around who could’ve taken a photograph. Besides, urinating in public is an arrest-able offence and as her parent, that would’ve been you.

stichguru · 05/09/2025 23:32

Kindly OP, you need to take your child to a doctor Whether or not you or anyone else believes that a 6 year old weeing in a car-park is ok or not, is frankly a comparatively minor issue here. If your child isn't sensing she needs to wee in time to walk across a car park before she stops being able to hold, there's no guarantee she'll be able to get to the toilet from the classroom, or off the school bus (on say a school trip). While outside even in a built up area might be ok, in her classroom or on the coach definately won't be and will get her ridiculed by her peers. (And will be stinky and unpleasant for everyone). As someone who's disability occasionally leads to a fast wee, DO NOT subject your child to this mess, get her help NOW!

Ponoka7 · 05/09/2025 23:33

Hetoldherthatmagicdoesntexist · 05/09/2025 21:59

She was weeing, can’t hold her wee for long sometimes and would not have made it in time

Then you regularly try her on the toilet. If there wasn't any toilets then it's unavoidable, you just try to make it on grass, or over a grid. It doesn't matter how difficult she's being. You are in charge.

How very dare you, how uncouth. Peeing in the street geez where is your decorum lady. That is so so 'sgusting. Not pee that will get washed away with the rain!

You've pissed in a supermarket car park, on camera?

AHickyFromKenickie · 05/09/2025 23:34

StressedOot3 · 05/09/2025 23:13

I have three children. The two youngest could hold a pee till the cows come home. My eldest couldn't, if she needed to pee she'd already been holding it until the cows came home because she has Adhd and waits until she literally can't hold it anymore before alerting me.

On top of that as a now young adult, she is under urology due to her bladder issues of not being able to hold it in, peeing so often so urgently and having a small capacity of how much her bladder can hold. So unless people have a child like this they may not get it and fuck what randoms in a car park or on the Internet think.

Edited

wow! What a response! Young adult daughter gets to piss where she wants because of urology problems…
Ever considered alternative measures for incontinence? There’s many, many products on the market for women that have lost control of bladder and otherwise.

pissing in the street is never dignified and a resolution to a medical illness…
