Woman shouted because Dd wee’d in the car park

Hetoldherthatmagicdoesntexist · 05/09/2025 21:56

Dd, 6 and I were at the supermarket today
We were in a rush, had walked all the way back to car, I was struggling with three large bags, putting them in the boot.
Dd was moaning and difficult most of the day, she said she was desperate for the toilet. I said to just wait a moment as I had to put the bags in etc and we’d go back. She started getting upset saying she was really desperate and about to wee and could she wee by our car quickly. I let her.
As I was fastening her car seat, an older woman walked past and shouted’There are loos inside you know!’ in not a very nice way. I shouted back ‘Excuse me?’ She said she was just saying there were loos inside that can be used (again, it wasn’t said in a nice way’ I said to her ‘She’s 6 years and was desperate and couldn’t hold it in, she’s 6!’ She pulled a face and got in her car.
Dd was upset and asked if she’d done something wrong and felt scared of the mean lady.

It really pissed me off, was I out of order??

@EasySqueezyso you are saying that OP’s child and a dog are the same? 🤣 are you going to stop a dog or speak to the dogs mother. Come on.

Someonelookedatmypostinghistorysoichanged · 05/09/2025 23:00

wow. 6 yo wee s in car park and mn is oh my gawd dats disgusting 🤮
dogs - 🐕 millions of them wee all over the place everyday, in car parks too, and on pavements, in parks, up trees and lampposts. I saw a woman cleaning up a sloppy shit from her fur baby, that’s ok though. Dog wee fine
small human wee, mn shock 😮 horror
me - I am too invested in my own business to be minding your business for you.

Some highly dramatic responses on here 😅 I wouldn't give a shiny shit if I saw a 6 year old having a wee in the car park OP

Me either 🤷‍♀️

samlett · 05/09/2025 23:01

She is SIX years old, a child not a wild animal. YAB terribly U. Only kids in nappies can't hold it, hence the nappies.

Hetoldherthatmagicdoesntexist · 05/09/2025 22:00

I’m really shocked, she’s still quite little and cannot hold it when it gets to this stage
It would not bother me to see a child do that either, I completely get it

Does she wee in the playground at school?

PyongyangKipperbang · 05/09/2025 23:01

ToKittyornottoKitty · 05/09/2025 22:54

They still can’t pee in the toilets at bloody Asda though can they.

Edited

Right, and?

Baring additional needs, six isn’t that little

Dogs are, well dogs. Presumably the OP’s DD is a human child?

Either way theirs still wee everywhere though?

ClaredeBear · 05/09/2025 23:03

It’s not the end of the world and you don’t do it often. Could she have made it to the toilet? Maybe. But you were having a bad day.

TappyGilmore · 05/09/2025 23:03

Yes she’s 6 not 2!!! Of course she should have been able to manage for long enough for you to go back inside and use the toilets. Disgusting behaviour and quite reasonable for this woman to have called it out.

WhereIsMyJumper · 05/09/2025 23:03

AHickyFromKenickie · 05/09/2025 22:58

…meanwhile, back in another dimension of reality. You’re comparing children pissing in public to that of animals doing the same, and so it’s ok…🤷‍♀️

in which case, let’s ALL piss in the street when we’re caught short
…a dog does it,so why shouldn’t I?

A dog doesn’t have the same brain as an adult human. It’s perfectly acceptable for a dog to piss up a lamp post. The car park is probably covered in fox and rat piss anyway.

Like your username BTW

Maybe you have a low bar of what is acceptable.

Petitchat · 05/09/2025 22:55

The child said she couldn't wait?

Then go to a doctor at 6 years old! Maybe 2/3 year old if there was no toilet around but she obviously was near one! So I don’t understand you point the child is 6!!!

lifeonmars100 · 05/09/2025 23:05

on the topic of al fresco pissing near the shops, one of the reasons that I can no longer stand to go to my local supermarket is the presence of street drinkers who hang out there begging and getting wasted. They often get caught short so just piss in the street. Oh the joys of living in an inner city where the council and the police have given up

NaiceBalonz · 05/09/2025 23:05

WildflowerMama · 05/09/2025 23:00

I don’t understand how people can get caught up over things like this. It’s a child, and sometimes children misjudge things, especially when it comes to toileting.

No one was hurt, nothing was damaged. I can’t imagine being so bothered as to shout unkindly at someone, even if I was a bit surprised.

Because it's a bloody six year old.

If she can hold it in school she can hold it elsewhere.

TeaBiscuitsNaptime · 05/09/2025 23:06

Tryingtokeepitreal · 05/09/2025 22:03

Dogs pee literally everywhere. And their owners are usually standing by smiling as if waiting for me to compliment the flipping dog. I think it's fine OP, sounds like she was stuck and it was just a once off

🤣 Very true. If it was a once off and a quieter bit of the carpark, I wouldn't give a toss. I would empathise with the mum even. A shower of rain and it's gone. Sometimes life calls for improvisations.

You go to a doctor. The outrage is bizarre and over the top.

TheWelshposter · 05/09/2025 23:07

If your daughter was so desperate, why didn't she need to go when inside the shop if you had just left it?
It's pretty unfair on the general public to have puddles of wee where they have to walk. And the smell! But I guess that's someone elses problem now and not yours.

frecklejuice · 05/09/2025 23:07

She’s 6, she was weeing in a car park, you buckle her into her car seat and she was “scared of the mean lady”.. Do you baby her op? Just that she sounds very young for her age.

Oh and yes yabu for letting her do that at the age of 6.

stiffstink · 05/09/2025 23:07

I'm not sure why you couldn't have taken her to the loo after you paid. You only had three bags, so barring any medical conditions why did she need to go so desperately between the till and the car? As a 6 yr old did she not mention needing to go?

Blessedbethefruitz · 05/09/2025 23:07

Meh. I made ds 6 wait the 5 minute walk to home today despite his protests (too much fun back at school despite reminders). I don't make dd3 wait due to ongoing digestive heavily medicated health issues. I would clock other kids public peeing but not give a damn, everyone has their own issues. It's less subtle for girls alas due to the need to squat...

NotAhotWeatherPerson · 05/09/2025 23:08

Six? Yes, she's too old for that. She's not a toddler. You talk about her like she's younger than she is.

Someone2025 · 05/09/2025 23:09

ThejoyofNC · 05/09/2025 21:58

I would expect a 6 year old to be able to hold it for 2 minutes whilst you walk back inside.

I would also expect a 6year old to be able to tell a while in advance if they needed to go to the toilet as well as being able to hold it in for a couple of minutes…..

CallieOMally · 05/09/2025 23:10

This is Bluey and the bloody “bush wee”. My five year old was under the impression that she did not need to use toilets any more because she wanted to do a bush wee.

i didn’t let her though! I took her home from the park when she needed a wee and she learned extremely quickly to go before she left the house.

NoSuchThingAsAFreeHoliday · 05/09/2025 23:10

Hetoldherthatmagicdoesntexist · 05/09/2025 22:01

She was mean, she had no idea of our circumstances and it was none of her business

Someone weeing in public makes it her business. What are your circumstances? Being 6? She would have seen that. Still not ok.
