I could explain but I think all you wise ladies of mumsnet know what I mean !!

OP posts:

Oh I read the op as prosecco jeans, was curious as to what style of jeans that might be. Silly me

Same here!

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 31/08/2025 07:32

I've never heard this expression but now I know what you mean.

Er, I really don't give it much thought.

There's much worse behaviour than posting on Facebook about how you're having/looking forward to having a glass of wine.

Summerbay23 · 31/08/2025 07:35

I had no clue what this was either, maybe I’m not one of the wise ones on mumsnet.

JustFish · 31/08/2025 07:44

There's not that much of a prosecco drinking culture amongst Dutch, Danish or Norwegian men in my experience

MargaritaMargaret · 31/08/2025 07:44

I prefer cocktails myself. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere!

GaslitlikeaVictorianparlour · 31/08/2025 07:47

VoltaireMittyDream · 31/08/2025 01:06

Please let Prosecco Jens be a Nordic man who feels Italian in his soul

A man who's equally at home in the majestic fjords of the north as he is in the cosmopolitan elegance of the Eternal City of Rome.
Maybe Prosecco Jens could be the name of an aftershave?

soupyspoon · 31/08/2025 07:48

I thought the OP had misspelled the thread title and it was prosecco jeans

We've had barrel jeans, carrot jeans, why not prosecco jeans?

Goodideaornot · 31/08/2025 07:48

ThreeTescoBags · 31/08/2025 00:37

Jens as in multiple Jennifers who drink prosecco or as in a guy from a Scandinavian-ish country who does similar?

😆

Ebsalami · 31/08/2025 07:48

Why try to ruin a perfectly nice name?
Do you do this irritating stereotyping with men's names too?
(And no, my name is not Jen but I hate this type of casual misogyny.)

Plantlights · 31/08/2025 07:49

Comedycook · 31/08/2025 06:21

I know exactly the type you mean op.

Awww prosecco o'clock hunnies....wot r we lyk hey?!

My hubby is my world

Edited

I don’t know what they’re like but you don’t sound very nice

Stardust286 · 31/08/2025 07:52

Do you mean Prosecco Gen's? As in the generation who like prosecco?

Owly11 · 31/08/2025 07:53

Deadringer · 31/08/2025 01:16

Oh I read the op as prosecco jeans, was curious as to what style of jeans that might be. Silly me

Ha ha that’s exactly what I did!

Dontcallmescarface · 31/08/2025 07:56

FarFarAwayTrain · 31/08/2025 04:58

Yes EXACTLY!!! You’ve nailed it !

Glass of vino with this one !!

Why do you have people whom you clearly don't think much of, as FB "friends"...or are you the kind of person who just accepts any friendship request because you somehow want to seem popular? Personally I find people who are "all about the likes" more annoying, but you do you hun.

ChampagneJen · 31/08/2025 07:59

I find them rather déclassé. The kind of slattern who favours nice ham over naice ham.

RobustPastry · 31/08/2025 08:00

Gretchen, stop trying to make ‘fetch’ happen. It’s not going to happen!

You sound mean and very sexist OP. Should women not enjoy things, and not talk about things they enjoy?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 31/08/2025 08:00

Some of the types of social media posts included as examples on this thread I might find a bit cringey or cheesy IRL, but as another poster stated, it’s just that I don’t relate to them. Those people might find some of my posts pretty tiresome.

But sheesh, don’t women face enough casual misogyny and sexism without being sneered at for something else? And by other women? It’s up there with the Karen thing, and that particularly infuriates me when other women do it.

Maybe we need something like Molly Misogyny? (Apologies to any Molly’s, it’s a lovely name).

MissyB1 · 31/08/2025 08:01

Createausername1970 · 31/08/2025 06:36

Woodpecker Rebecca

That rhymes (ish) - maybe that will catch on.

I think that was me when I was 15 😂

Comedycook · 31/08/2025 08:03

Its not sexism...it's social commentary and taking the mick out of crap that we see on social media

soupyspoon · 31/08/2025 08:03

Cider Sally?

Muffintopmumma · 31/08/2025 08:09

Owly11 · 31/08/2025 07:53

Ha ha that’s exactly what I did!

And me!

CautiousLurker01 · 31/08/2025 08:10

Reeks of internalised misogyny and women get enough judgment and censure - spiteful threads like this just add to it. Calling it ‘lighthearted’ doesn't make it any less spiteful or misogynistic.

PaddlingSwan · 31/08/2025 08:11

I misread the thread title and clicked it as I was curious to see what Prosecco Jeans looked like 😳
Probably need to get my eyes tested again.

Absolutely Fabulous GIF by LogoTV

It wouldn't be Patsy Prosecco.

ProseccoJen · 31/08/2025 08:13

This is discriminatory towards wine o'clock women and also Scandinavian men like me, we are allowed to enjoy prosecco too. Also, stupid. Therefore, I've reported this thread.

Agree with this. Its such a mealy mouthed thread too - OP wouldn't even elaborate on their own definition because they must know it's small minded and mean spirited so they've just invited other women to do it for them.
