To be starting to worry that Reform will win next GE?

The polls have shown a consistent lead. Is there any realistic chance of Reform actually winning the next election?

I vote Labour, but it’s hard to see how they’ve managed to throw away such a lead in just a year, and it’s hard to see how their polling improves. The Tories maybe have more opportunity for improving, but we’re going to see a Reform government, aren’t we? Nigel Farage is going to be our next PM.

They're not going to win. All the bumf about Farage is just fluff. None of his policies are workable. Although to be fair, a Reform voter isn't able to offer a sensible analysis of the unworkable policies so...

Sundaysoon · 29/08/2025 16:12

Pretty sure they will… Tories will not be coming back any time soon. Lib Dem’s are just a laugh and Labour, well, what is there left to say?

I’ll be voting for the Greens 😄

3pears · 29/08/2025 16:13

I think they will, sadly

Neveranynamesleft · 29/08/2025 16:14

It isn't hard to see how they've thrown away such a lead at all. They've done a shit job. Reform will win if they get the most votes and apart from shouting about stopping the boats they dont know what they're doing either. We're stuffed.

whoboo · 29/08/2025 16:15

It's actually not hard to see why Labour have disappointed tbh. God help us all if reform win

yellowspanner · 29/08/2025 16:16

I hope Reform do win. We need them and I'll be voting for them. Labour have already proved they're incompetent . I can't believe anybody would vote for them.

RedRiverShore5 · 29/08/2025 16:16

I'll be voting to get Labour out

sundayfundayclub · 29/08/2025 16:16

🤦🏻‍♀️

whoboo · 29/08/2025 16:18

Jesus reform have no actual clue how to run a country. It would be a full on disaster.

What do we need Reform to do? Do you really think they will work for the people? That they will introduce workable policies? That Farage wants what's best for the country and isn't just a grifter?

Not a fan of any of them but seriously

PandoraSocks · 29/08/2025 16:19

There are almost four more years to go. Far too soon to make predictions.

I have been laughed at for saying the following, but I don't care:

The majority of the electorate don't support Reform. If (big if) in 2029 there is a danger of them winning I am sure there will be a big, co-ordinated campaign of tactical voting to keep Farage out of No. 10

sundayfundayclub · 29/08/2025 16:20

Reforms policy of cutting taxes and spending more on services doesn't add up.

NDornotND · 29/08/2025 16:20

I'm worried too. The depth of shit the country was/is in due to the tories is too much for Labour to sort out and win over the electorate before the next election. We're doomed I tell you.

GentleSheep · 29/08/2025 16:20

They may well do, the way things are going. I won't vote for them though, dislike Nigel Farage! Really don't know who to vote for except hoping Advance become a party in time, I do think they are a good option, but will they get enough support in time?

Bagsintheboot · 29/08/2025 16:20

I have no idea who will win the next general election and neither does anyone else.

Four years is a long time in politics and trying to predict the next result based on events today is a fools errand.

Maybe Reform will win. But they'd have to sustain this momentum for four whole years and also find a sufficient number of MPs and win enough constituencies to beat the FPTT system.

Not impossible certainly. Likely? My personal opinion is not given their levels of infighting and turnover. Regardless of their populist wave at the moment, I don't think they have the direction or coordination to truly organise themselves - at the moment. As I said, four years is a long time in politics.

sundayfundayclub · 29/08/2025 16:21

The shit show we are in needs cross party consensus and the electorate needs to wake up to the issues we are facing. We can't have it all & things will take years to turn around.

CorneliaCupp · 29/08/2025 16:21

They've got a handful of MPs, I think it is all sound and fury, no actual realistic chance of winning.
Labour have 4 years to go, I'm hopeful that by then some of the plans and policies that they have already/will soon be putting in place will have begun to bear fruit.
I agree that the Tory's are nowhere though, I can't remember a time when they were such a weak force!

healthadvice123 · 29/08/2025 16:21

I think it may be a collation with someone, although i like the new tory leader so maybe she can bring the’ back ? Labour Unless they make massive changes i don’t see them doing well ans people will tactical vote to get them out. I don’t & won’t vote reform but people just putting people down who do are helping fuel the fire, the tories are at least listening to what the big reasin is many are considering reform- labour aren’t that will be there downfall

I would agree with you but unfortunately the precedent for this was set by Trump.

Please do tell me which policies we need from Reform?

I’m not a huge fan of Labour but they’ve done a damn sight better than the Tories so far. I don’t really understand all the vitriol towards them, especially don’t understand anyone thinking the company Reform could do better.

OnetwoThree123456 · 29/08/2025 16:23

Labour out.

Mangetouts · 29/08/2025 16:23

Unless there's a vote of no confidence for some reason there's a while to go yet and who knows what'll happen in the meantime.

Why won’t they? With this polling, they will win. How is the polling going to change?

Just as there will be a big, coordinated campaign to keep Labour out I would imagine.

OldieButBaddie · 29/08/2025 16:24

I think the country would actually collapse if he were in charge, it would be the Liz Truss/Kwazi Kwarteng budget type chaos x10000

I have my other passport ready just in case, but I am hopeful that common sense and a desire for the country to get better, not worse, will prevail.

It's all well and good living in a low tax society but it's going to be horrible every time you walk outside your front door, nothing will work and inflation will go crazy resulting in even more expensive cost of living.

We need to pay more tax. We need immigrants. People who want neither never offer any workable solution.
