For thinking that the migrant protests ...

Should be held at the council offices, Government departments, rather than the migrant hotels? After all, it's due to the government's lack of processing that the migrants are there?

What is it you think that figure 2 shows? To me it shows how financially beneficial a tightly controlled skilled immigration system could have been for the U.K.
Mass immigration has been a net drain on the U.K. and we all know it, areas of high immigration are a fiscal drain. A high net worth Hong Kong banker might offset the state cost of 100 low skilled Deliveroo drivers, but why not just take the banker and not the 100 low skilled Deliveroo drivers?

MrsSkylerWhite · 24/08/2025 09:09

The OBR disagrees with you. Participation in the economy amongst immigrants of working age is 90 % as compared to 67% of British citizens of the same group, boosting GDP.

Readily available on the OBR website.

Oh, hang on. It’s probably in on the conspiracy, too … silly, gullible me.

So does the Office for National Statistics. Quoted upthread. Or are they all part of The Conspiracy?

Charlthg · 24/08/2025 09:13

I don’t think you understand how net contribution works. 90% vs 67% statistic doesn’t make it net contribution. Net contribution is about….never mind, you wouldn’t understand anyway.

You are funny.

I'm implying nothing. Take what was said at face value. If your comprehension skills can't manage it move on.

I thought as much.

Imagine having some sort of points system, based on required skills. .. where potential immigrants had to score a certain number of points to attain a permit to stay. Then they’d be welcome. I’ve heard that before somewhere.

Or we could just have open borders, like now. It’s working so well.

Still waiting for a source that actually says anything.

Any idiot can post links without understanding what they say.

Everyone has, they don’t correspond to your conclusions that the majority support mass immigration or that mass immigration has been beneficial to the U.K..

In other words “I don’t have any sources, nor do I understand what it is I am actually arguing for, I am just a copy/paste link type person who actually read and pull any data out to properly support my argument but thinks it’s a flex to post links randomly”.

Thanks, thought as much.

I’ve posted no links but if it makes you happy …

The official ones do. Also known impartial sources such ad the Institute for Fiscal Studies, Migration Observatory (Oxford University), etc.

Exactly this. Always wonder how these hard left type people are not embarrassed posting links which don’t support their argument. They clearly haven’t read what they posted.

Often, the links are from reports from 3,4,5 years ago so not even representative of how things are today. Almost always, the data does not support their argument.

Its almost like they just parrot and regurgitate what they hear, without actually understanding definitions and subject matter.

Heartening to see that most of the protesters are being outnumbered by counter protesters.

Wonder if they were given lifts in police riot vans as was the case in Epping? Bus loads arriving by train and escorted by the policein vans to the protest. So not local and no experience of living in this area.

Is this like one of these delusions where if you say it enough times, it might become reality.

The don’t, they show skilled immigration has been a marginal fiscal benefit. Mass immigration has been a disaster.

You mean like the UK point system?
