Just read this awful story in the Guardian. Awful and makes me feel so angry and so unsafe as a half Black woman.

I am not conversing with you anymore Milo, you are just trying to stir things and have no interest in actual conversation.

Obviously white British will be a minority at some point. The future is brown this is widely accepted.

And you're not? You told me that everyone you know blames foreigners for everything and keep talking about immigrants.

I am pretty sure there are two versions. One with “grandpa duties” or some such written on it. And one which had that removed. I saw that in the wild online and thought it was weird. I am not sure whether the second one had writing in text or new writing on screen as I can’t remember; but it wasnt the original and was eluding to the migrant park pedo narrative.

The original one; I only saw that after. I thought it had been filmed by racists in the park and the grandad took the video and reposted it with grandpa duties on it to show they were his grandchildren.

I have no idea what tommy posted, I didnt see it. No idea whether hes the origins, or if not which version hes posted.

Are you trying to excuse what Yaxley-Lennon did? I am finding it hard to tell.

The answer to your question is pointythings, the user ‘pointythings’.

Where did I say that? I said it didn't matter to me, because I don't care about skin colour. That's all.

Honestly, and we aren't allowed to use the S word...

Yes I know, I did try and explain that to this particular person quite a few times.

RubySquid · 22/08/2025 21:36

I don't think it does really. It's just if people say is only 19% now then it must've been far less before. So i looked it up and was about 2% in the 70s.

Statically that's a huge jump in the last half century compared to the rest of history.

And where in earth did i say anything about being less British if you are not .

I am just sitting here mind boggled that someone stole this poor guys video. Whether that’s Tommy or not. Whoever did that it’s insane. I’m just thinking why?!?

And yes I would love to know who did that. Does anyone have a screenshot of tommys post?

Why would you assume I’m trying to defend Tommy Robinson for crying out loud.

It’s a twisted thing to do and has really affected their lives. Surely there’s some legal recourse or do you lose any rights once you upload? It definitely meets the criteria of libel if tik tok videos are considered permanent.

It can’t be legal surely. Isn’t copyright with the original creator.

Ownership:
When you create original content, the copyright is yours. You are the legal owner of the video.

License:
When you upload the video, you are granting TikTok a license to use it. This license allows TikTok to share, distribute, and even use your video in advertisements, but it doesn't transfer ownership of the copyright to them.

I think whoever originally captioned that video is going to be in a lot of trouble.

Either way, racism and libel surely has to cover this.

I don’t even use tiktok. I don’t have an x account. I am pretty sure I saw this on Facebook. Or maybe YouTube shorts. I can’t remember but it wasnt TikTok. So it is everywhere.

PugInTheHouse · 22/08/2025 22:31

It seems that anything triggers people to behave awfully now, where I live there are so many protests about migrants/issues in tje area but they just turn into rascist, violent incidents. Tonight at local festival they cut a band's line due to chants re Palenstine and they displayed the flag, all that has now done is bring out all the rascists and threats of protests etc, and people saying the only flag they want to see is St George's cross!.

Absolutely vile stuff on FB being shared by people I would never have thought were rascist. Its terrifying.

I hate this world right now

Stop othering and speaking about Muslim women as if we are oppressed, suffocated weaklings. Hijab is so much more than just a piece of fabric tightly clipped to our heads. As well as being an important part of our faith, there is also so much history attached to these pieces of fabric. Many of our grandmothers started wearing headscarves and abayas because they discovered nothing defied the thousands of men who colonised their countries, and who tried to claim them, more than not being able to sexualise them. We are forever proud of their strength, and we learnt and continue to learn a lot from them through their horrific experiences so that nothing was in vain. To many of us, our hijab continues to be our strength and resilience, especially during troubling times. It is absurd to me, that in 2025, it is now our fellow women who mainly argue against the wearing of some extra fabric, and not men!

Thank you so much for sharing that part of your history. It's so valuable to bring that understanding. As a women, I have looked at other women covered up on really hot days and felt sorry for them, wondered how they stand it, so it's good to hear it from a perspective of strength/defiance rather than oppression.

Burkha's - would they be worn for the same reason?

Why? Even if they aren't his bio grandkids and he married an older woman, that doesn't change the fact that what happened to him and his family is racist.

I agree. I just wonder if maybe people should follow their own advice and do some research. I assumed it was a step grandad already but not a 35 year old man.

I think we should be curious if something doesn’t look right. I think the reposting should have been picked up far quicker than it was by whoever posted it. Like I said there’s more to the story.

Saucery · 23/08/2025 08:52

There really isn’t “more to the story”. A family group’s video was hijacked by Yaxley-Lennon and his supporters, with a completely false narrative attributed to it. The age of the man is irrelevant- never come across a young grandparent by marriage, or an uncle/aunt younger than their niece/nephew?
To take it and share it implying there is something odd about a family group playing in a park is racist.

Apologies. As a pp said, I think it is because you call him "Tommy". Most non-supporters call him Robinson or Yaxley-Lennon etc. Or scum of the earth.

Or, "what has this man done to cause his life to be destroyed by racists making death threats?"

Kinda like wondering whether a woman might have caused herself to be raped by wearing clothes or going out.

Would you have the same level of “curiosity” if it was a white man of the same age playing with his white grandchildren? Or a white man playing with his grandchildren who were of Asian heritage?

Or is it only a certain type of man we should be curious about?

Yes. If there was the same story being printed in the media. I’d have a nose at the story and wonder a few things.

If I was walking by either white, Asian or black man in a park then no.

Saucery · 23/08/2025 09:24

Go on then, what are you ‘wondering’ about?

That attitude of thinking there was anything to nosy about is exactly the problem. People looking for trouble will find it, and will be led by Tommh Ten Names.

Saucery · 23/08/2025 09:24

I mean I’ve literally put it in my previous post. His age. And why the post was able to be shared so widely?

Saucery · 23/08/2025 09:42

But Yaxley-Lennon wouldn't have shared it if the man wasn't Black. So why did he do that....hmmm... quite the mystery.
Once you put anything on the internet it can be shared widely if people want to.
