Like this?

I went today without really realising how bad they were until I got there. I live by a beach, not on holidays and just rushed there after work
Now i’m looking at them like 😮
I feel like no one I know would do this

Would you go to the beach with legs this hairy?

I swim year round and am not one for depiling.

Torturedsoul · 17/08/2025 18:53

I thought this was going to be about me as I did in fact go to the beach today, exactly like that, if not more hairy!

TheGreatWesternShrew · 17/08/2025 18:54

Yes. I’ve been travelling for the last year. Razors aren’t always available so I’ve done many beaches and pools with legs and armpits fully natural.

Literally nobody else cares. Your body has hair because you’re an adult. It’s not shameful to have a natural body with hair. It’s fine to have a preference for shaving, it’s not OK if you’re considering missing out of life experiences because you have an inch of hair on your legs.

I wouldn't let mine get like that in the first place. I've let my shaving standards slip but I still do it once a week.

Same here. I care a lot about personal grooming and so would never let my legs get this hairy. Definitely wouldn't go to the beach like it.

usedtobeaylis · 17/08/2025 18:55

Your legs look grand. Im not a beachy person so I would automatically say no but in reality, maybe? I don't shave my legs all that often these say. I actually love this because my daughter's friends have visible hair on their legs now and not a single one of them is shaving it - when that was my friends and I at that age at school it would have attracted comments that made us want to shave - so I like that there are more adults women giving less of a fuck too.

Sasha07 · 17/08/2025 18:56

I'm late 30s and can't be bothered to shave my legs anywhere near as much as I used to. Now I just use hair removal cream as and when I remember. I'm trying to remember ever noticing how hairy a woman's legs are... Just got back from holiday too, so seen a fair few but couldn't tell you if they were bare, starting to grow or full on fur coat! I also live by the beach and often walk down in short shorts... Don't even consider checking the hair length beforehand 😁 you're good OP, Autumn is almost upon us anyway 😁

TheTeasmaid · 17/08/2025 18:57

unless your with people who are eg omg those hairs etc then personally id embrace the hairs

Thisisbetweenyoumeandtheinternet · 17/08/2025 18:58

I would and then I’d think oh fuck I hope no one looks at my legs!!

Halfandhalf2025 · 17/08/2025 19:01

I'm early 30's and I couldn't even tell you the last time I shaved my legs 😅 it's just hair? Who cares what hair other people have and where 😅

tumblingdowntherabbithole · 17/08/2025 19:02

No, but I have real sensory issues about body hair that feels "wrong" to me.

I don't care what other people do though :)

Barrenfieldoffucks · 17/08/2025 19:02

Like you, we live near the beach and are there most days. It wouldn't have crossed my mind not to go, and I bet no-one even noticed.

My 15 yr old DD doesn't do anything with the hair on either her legs or under her arms - and she has thick, black hairs. She doesn't want the faff of hair removal or all the stress that it involves - her opinion is that it's her body and why should she have to remove it?!

My DM is banned from talking to her about it as over the years she's attempted to get DD to shave multiple times. She can't seem to accept that it's perfectly OK for women to - gasp - show hair.

I'm actually really proud of DD for making up her own mind and not being swayed by peer pressure/popular culture. I don't care what she does either way and she knows that. As long as she's comfortable, confident, and happy, I'll support her 100%.

I wish I'd had half her confidence when I was her age to just do what I wanted without worrying about what others think (disclaimer - DD is autistic and is very black and white!)

My 16 year old is exactly the same and also autistic ☺️ she also doesn’t see the point of shaving, she couldn’t care less about society’s expectations. I love that for her!

Personally no

Mine are like this because I am going away next week and booked in for my usual pre holiday leg wax. I hate how they look and wouldn't normally let me legs get this hairy , I have been wearing maxi dresses to keep them covered. I don't think I would even notice on someone else though, and even if I did notice someone with hairy legs, I wouldnt think anything of it.

Gives a whole new meaning to cat woman!!

🤣🤣

@Spicyprawnsitisthen

my leg hair has all moved up north, to my chin!! And frankly. Even before it did, the hair on my legs was the least of my worries at the beach!

Don't give it another thought!!

TheFairyCaravan · 17/08/2025 19:04

I wouldn’t, however I don’t go round staring at anyone else’s legs so wouldn’t have noticed yours either.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 17/08/2025 19:05

I've gone to a lot of places with hairier legs. I'm at the age that I don't give a shit anymore and DH prefers me not to shave because, you know, no stubble 😆

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 17/08/2025 19:06

Yes.

JustMeHello · 17/08/2025 19:06

I haven't shaved anything in maybe 5 years, so absolutely I would go anywhere with bare legs if I wanted to. Nobody has ever commented ever, and honestly, nobody gives a shit. If they do, they've kept it to themselves.

Spicyprawnsitisthen · 17/08/2025 17:23

Even with having Dh there..I just don’t seem to care that much anymore 🙈same as a pp, a few years back I would never have…not sure if it’s a good or bad thing

Was your DH bothered about his own presumably hairy legs?

i’m trying my hardest to not care about mine anymore. My DH certainly doesn’t care about his own and he’s aware enough not to pass comment on mine at least!

Dandelionsand4leafclover · 17/08/2025 19:10

Yes. I'm old and don't give a shit about what other people think about my hairy legs. I'm not that shallow anymore.

Purplecatshopaholic · 17/08/2025 19:13

No I wouldn’t, no. I don’t judge others though, and if someone doesn’t want to get rid of leg hair it’s not my business.

Agapornis · 17/08/2025 19:14

Women's legs are like beach bodies.
A body on the beach is a beach body.
Legs attached to a woman are a woman's legs.

I only shave mine when I visit my mum twice a year, because she's the only one who says horrible judgemental things about women who let their hair grow.

I think judging other women's hairiness ages the judgemental. There was a time in the 80s/90s/00s where most women's magazines were full of such misogyny. We got over it and moved on from those attitudes. So OP, hopefully you have too :)

PistachioTiramisuLimoncello · 17/08/2025 19:16

Did the world explode OP?
No? Crack on then 😘
