Like this?

I went today without really realising how bad they were until I got there. I live by a beach, not on holidays and just rushed there after work
Now i’m looking at them like 😮
I feel like no one I know would do this

Would you go to the beach with legs this hairy?

Yes because I don’t give a shite what some random strangers think of me or my body and nor should you. Why let a random suck the joy out of your life or stop you doing the things you enjoy? I’m dying though so see the world a lot clearer these days

TheChosenTwo · 17/08/2025 18:15

I swim outdoors all year round and I can
tell you that while people may notice literally no one will give a shit about your hairy legs.
I tend to shave mine twice a week during the summer but during the winter it’s a rare
occasion and I still get my legs out to swim.

doodleschnoodle · 17/08/2025 18:16

I wouldn’t choose to but I wouldn’t notice if someone else did and if I was in an impromptu legs out situation and hadn’t shaved then I would still carry on, depending on the venue! But I do much prefer a smooth leg when they are visible. It wouldn’t register with me what someone else’s legs looked like though unless it was yeti levels.

heavenstruck · 17/08/2025 18:19

I would and have. No one cares

Rituelec · 17/08/2025 18:20

Yes. I would and do.

overmydeadbody · 17/08/2025 18:20

I live by the beach. I go almost daily. Never an I close enough to strangers to see their leg hair. I would not shave for a beach trip, no one notices, no one can see. And if they could, it doesn't actually matter.

SaltyCara · 17/08/2025 18:23

I have just been to an EXTREMELY posh spa (where I not only bobbed around the general hydrotherapy pool/sauna/steam room, but also had a full body massage including, naturally, my legs) with legs that looked like that. No one batted an eyelid. Hair isn't unhygienic. It's normal and natural. If you want to remove it then crack on but if you don't that's perfectly fine.

ScupperedbytheSea · 17/08/2025 18:24

Absolutely. I have a wax every six weeks and just let the hair grow in between.

I like having hair free legs, but also don't mind being fluffy in between.

It took me while to get used to being unshaven, but now find it liberating.

Thepeopleversuswork · 17/08/2025 18:25

Meh. My legs aren't particularly hairy but I couldn't really give a shit.

caramac04 · 17/08/2025 18:27

crazeekat · 17/08/2025 17:21

No normal person is looking at them

Anyone who thinks badly of you would be being a bit of a twat imo.
Hope you had a great time.

youalright · 17/08/2025 18:28

Absolutely not

Tunnocksmallow · 17/08/2025 18:30

I regularly go swimming/aquafit class with legs like Hairy McCleary. Do I care? Nope.

If people are starring at my legs rather than enjoying the pool/beach, that’s their problem, not mine.

FourIsNewSix · 17/08/2025 18:34

I would and I do it regularly.

I have just realised a few days ago, that I don't know whether other women around me do it or not - I just have never looked long enough to notice.

SunnySlopes · 17/08/2025 18:35

Personally, no, but honestly, I don’t look at anyone else’s legs that closely when I’m at the beach 🤣Even if I did and I saw some stubbly legs or armpits etc, I couldn’t care less about anyone else’s body hair. I imagine most people wouldn’t notice or care either.

Chuggachuggachuchu · 17/08/2025 18:36

I'm mid thirties and never shave my legs anymore. Nobody cares. I've noticed it's becoming more common to be hairy legged.

Balloonhearts · 17/08/2025 18:37

I'd shave them if I had a chance but if it was spur of the moment, I wouldn't care. No one is going to be looking at me that closely anyway.

MayaPinion · 17/08/2025 18:43

Are you worried that people will judge you? If so, who cares? What can they do? Point and say ‘Oooh, hairy legs’? I live by a beach and not once have I ever noticed whether anyone has hairy legs.

Gonners · 17/08/2025 18:43

Arf! They look fine to me. I (dark, pale skinned) was a martyr to the razor during my 20s and 30s, though my much younger (blonde, tanned) sister had no such problems. It was all very Genesis 27:11 with me as Eeyore Esau:

And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man.

At some point in my mid-30s I just stopped caring and decided not to fight it, at which it apparently shrugged and gave up. I think shaving just encourages it. Post-menopause now, my arms and legs are completely hairless. And I no longer look as though I have a cat in my lap! 😆

SlashBeef · 17/08/2025 18:44

I wouldn't, no but I wouldn't be bothered by you doing so. Don't worry about it.

hellywelly3 · 17/08/2025 18:45

A few years ago I wouldn’t but the older I get the less I care about conforming to beauty standards

SpidersAreShitheads · 17/08/2025 18:46

My 15 yr old DD doesn't do anything with the hair on either her legs or under her arms - and she has thick, black hairs. She doesn't want the faff of hair removal or all the stress that it involves - her opinion is that it's her body and why should she have to remove it?!

My DM is banned from talking to her about it as over the years she's attempted to get DD to shave multiple times. She can't seem to accept that it's perfectly OK for women to - gasp - show hair.

I'm actually really proud of DD for making up her own mind and not being swayed by peer pressure/popular culture. I don't care what she does either way and she knows that. As long as she's comfortable, confident, and happy, I'll support her 100%.

I wish I'd had half her confidence when I was her age to just do what I wanted without worrying about what others think (disclaimer - DD is autistic and is very black and white!)

ByQuaintAzureWasp · 17/08/2025 18:47

Nobody will notice!

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 17/08/2025 18:50

I live near the beach and swim all year round. I can't remember the last time I shaved my legs. Maybe Easter?

Jk987 · 17/08/2025 18:50

No I wouldn’t but I had mine lasered many years ago. I wouldn’t feel comfortable or remotely sexy with hairy legs and definitely not a full bush. How do you feel about it?

mondaytosunday · 17/08/2025 18:52

Sure. Anything goes and unless very close to you who’d notice? My DD is 20 and doesn’t shave anything and I don’t think that’s so unusual now.
