Like this?

I went today without really realising how bad they were until I got there. I live by a beach, not on holidays and just rushed there after work
Now i’m looking at them like 😮
I feel like no one I know would do this

Would you go to the beach with legs this hairy?

See naked people daily (anaesthetist) legs look way more often like that than hair free

Bleachedlevis · 18/08/2025 19:28

I don’t think I’ve ever been naked while having any kind of anaesthetic!

Sunaquarius · 18/08/2025 19:34

Depends how much head space I had to give a crap.

SwingTheMonkey · 18/08/2025 19:44

I wouldn’t because from a sensory point of view, I can’t stand having leg hair. But I wouldn’t notice anyone else’s situation and even if I did, I wouldn’t give a shit.

NasturtiumsAreUnderrated · 18/08/2025 19:53

Yes. I'm lazy about sharing so not infrequently go running with legs much like that. Back when I waxed, I once went swimming with one very hairy leg and one depilated leg. It looked odd, but I wasn't going to cancel my swim because I hadn't had time to do both...

Again not hairy

Well, by Southern California beach standards, they are hairy, trust me on that XD But the aesthetics for women/girls in Southern California are very focused on appearance and looking as "beautiful" as possible, especially in cities like mine, which are "wealthier" (I've lived here all my life - parents bought a house here in the 70s when prices weren't ludicrous - there's no way I could afford to move/live here myself now if I wasn't a lifelong resident, lol.)

I shaved maybe two-three weeks ago (can't remember for sure) so the hair's not as long as I let it get in the winter, when I REALLY don't GAF about my leg-hair XD in the summer I shave occasionally when I feel like it/when I can be arsed to. So yeah, it's a little shorter than my usual, but for my town, most girls/women shave/wax/get permanent depilation on their legs.

Still maintain my opinion re: OP's original question though - have gone to the beach with hairy legs myself and not cared a whit XD

Niallig32839 · 18/08/2025 20:18

No I wouldn’t personally however if I happened to notice someone else had hairy legs I wouldn’t think anything of it. Probably very unlikely to notice

GripGetter · 18/08/2025 22:26

I would, and have. I swin often, and am regularly in the growing-out phase between waxes.

BourgeoisBabe · 18/08/2025 22:47

Yes. And the gym. Couldn't give a bollocks. But I'm old.

Beenwhereyouareagain · 18/08/2025 23:43

I wish I still grew body hair. Seven years of no razors and I'm only 65.

beautifuldaytosavelives · 18/08/2025 23:45

Not a chance. But they would never get to be that hairy. Personal preference.

RobinEllacotStrike · 19/08/2025 00:35

Yes I would and I do. Regularly.
no one cares.

CoolPlayer · 19/08/2025 01:08

I’ve stopped being obsessed about my armpits! Some might call it me letting myself go but I’d just call it being more at ease with my body

Rhaenys · 19/08/2025 01:22

I wouldn’t even notice that.

tooyoungtoopretty · 19/08/2025 02:02

Wouldn’t

AgingWellThankYou · 19/08/2025 02:44

I am leaning into being above 50 and not giving a flying f**k…

I get the pit in the stomach when you notice afterwards (chin hairs for me), but I am no longer here to be anyone’s eye candy and just moving along, living my best life. Let the world think what they like…

Your legs always are (and depending on what they're operating on your abdomen etc is)

hoonoo · 19/08/2025 08:32

i went to the beach at the weekend and noticed i had one leg shaved and one not.... but i was in a rush. no one noticed, no one cared!

Runnersandtoms · 19/08/2025 08:42

My 17 year old daughter doesn't shave her legs or armpits at all. I've had to bite my tongue because to me it looks a bit yuck but I realise this is just me being socialised to expect hairlessness on women. She didn't even shave her armpits when wearing her strapless prom dress. I noticed when we went to a uni open day that the female student we were talking to also had unshaven legs so maybe a certain section of young women are rejecting the idea. (Not the same ones who are getting gel nails, lip fillers and fake eyelashes I presume).

In answer to the OP other people look at you a lot less than you think and don't really care about what you look like lol. I used to worry a lot more about shaving my legs and now realise people don't care and i do it much more infrequently.

Blipette · 19/08/2025 10:39

I went on holiday to turkey last year and only when I was sitting by the pool did I realise how hairy my legs where 🤦‍♀️

godmum56 · 17/08/2025 21:41

someone on another thread reccomended this and its da bomb. A quick whizz over and while not hairless you'd have to look bloody close! https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0F5W9QK53?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title

I love how the advert says it replaces 'razors and expensive losers'.

I had to stop when I got a raging reaction to antiperspirants. I just never started again.
