Would you go to the beach with legs this hairy?

Like this?

I went today without really realising how bad they were until I got there. I live by a beach, not on holidays and just rushed there after work
Now i’m looking at them like 😮
I feel like no one I know would do this

Would you go to the beach with legs this hairy?

i went to the gym in shorts and unshaven legs today. Couldn’t care less!

Thereisatimeandaplace · 17/08/2025 22:01

Haven't seen beyond the title, but my answer is yes, if you're comfortable with it.
If someone is close enough to see the hairs in my kegs, then they're too close.

DeirdreChambersWhatACoincidence · 17/08/2025 17:19

Yes. I've just been round two parks and sat beside a sandpit with legs much the same. I even had a nice chat with a younger man who was watching his son and he didn't faint or anything.

😆

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 17/08/2025 22:37

People there would not bat an eyelid for your hairs.
I have been known to forget to shave 😬

WhatterySquash · 17/08/2025 22:37

Meh, I had to look closely at the photo to see them! TBF I have crap eyesight but I've seen a lot hairier. Wouldn't bother me to go out like that at all. (Not that you couldn't if they were a lot hairier too!)

FunMustard · 17/08/2025 23:09

@Spicyprawnsitisthen no one is saying your legs look like men's legs. They're saying that hairy legs are women's legs, so your legs look like women's legs.

And yes I would. In fact, I shaved my legs today which is the first time since April 2024!

Chuzzle · 17/08/2025 23:16

Did you have fun?
Zero fucks given about body hair.

K0OLA1D · 18/08/2025 05:29

Startrekkeruniverse · 17/08/2025 21:56

Me too, literally takes two mins in the shower.

Maybe for you.

Massively faffy for me

OwlBeThere · 18/08/2025 05:35

The hold societal norms about body hair for women has on me makes me furious tbh. I want to say I don’t care, but I do. On myself, only. My daughters don’t shave their armpits and it jars me when I see it, but I’m also really
happy that they are total fine with it and couldn’t give less of a shit.
I just can’t get there yet for myself.

SeaOfBliss · 18/08/2025 10:25

Yes. If anyone notices, they won’t remember on a day out at the beach

stayathomer · 18/08/2025 10:28

i generally only realise once I get home from somewhere that my legs and nails are in pretty crappy nick and then I shave, moisturise, cut nails etc (so basically when nobody will see them!) Every time too!!

Annoyeddd · 18/08/2025 10:33

All this crap about beach ready is a marketing ploy to sell razors, creams, fake tan etc.

MsDDxx · 18/08/2025 10:34

I wouldn’t, but I wouldn’t judge anyone who did, if you see what I mean 😂

hypnovic · 18/08/2025 15:36

Yes I would who gives a sh!t. If people don't like it they can look away. We are lucky to have the mental space time and luxury to even wonder if its an issue

Greypanda86 · 18/08/2025 15:42

I wouldn’t but I shave everyday cos I don’t like having hairy legs but if I saw someone else like this I wouldn’t care less

1989whome · 18/08/2025 15:46

Damn right I would 😂 if someone's is staring that closely to see your hairy egs, that's their issue lol.

tigerlady14 · 18/08/2025 15:49

I have very pale skin and brown body hair and I haven’t shaved my legs/armpits or any other part of my body for about 5 years or more (I sometimes tidy up my eyebrows) I do things like this all the time and nobody cares/if they do they haven’t said anything to me :)

You must have very fair leg hair. Mine is black and I still would. I walk down the high street in shorts with much hairier legs than that. I got ranted at by my male downstairs neighbour about it, but it turned out he thought I was just wearing a shirt, no shorts. He's apologised.

surprisebaby12 · 18/08/2025 16:04

If you died tomorrow, would you regret not going to the beach because you have hair on your body? Life is so precious, while it’s great to look and feel your best, it should never dictate how you live your life. Go feel the sun on your skin and get time away from screens/ normal life!

BauhausOfEliott · 18/08/2025 16:05

In an ideal world, I wouldn't - however, if I really fancied going to the beach and had no opportunity to shave my legs, hairy legs wouldn't stop me.

It's worth noting that never once in my life have I been at a beach or a pool or whatever and paid even the slightest bit of attention to whether any other woman had shaved or not. I could be next to someone on a beach all day and still not be able to tell you if she'd shaved her legs or not.

The only way in which I'm ever paying attention to body hair on a beach is when I'm looking for the optimum amount and distribution of chest hair on a man for peak sexiness, really.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 18/08/2025 16:06

I think it’s absolutely fine!

I think we should normalise people being allowed their own choices re body hair and not look at women’s body hair as somehow disgusting.

Louiestopit · 18/08/2025 16:08

Yes. I would and I have and I give no shits.

Cherrytree86 · 18/08/2025 16:43

Longnightmoon · 17/08/2025 17:32

Once a week? 52 times a year? over how many years? have you ever added up all the wasted time that represents!? How awful that anyone feels this is necessary. It isn't a "standard"-it is a tyranny.

@Longnightmoon

it doesn’t take very long in the shower you know! Once a week is not much.
and some women prefer their legs smooth for themselves - how they look and feel.

Bluedenimdoglover · 18/08/2025 16:47

Who cares? Who really notices? Just forget about it and enjoy the beach!

Emmz1510 · 18/08/2025 16:53

I personally wouldn’t. But that’s because I’m insecure about my body and wouldn’t have the confidence. I feel bad enough about my body that my thought process is if I can at least control that I will.
That doesn’t mean I think there is anything wrong at all about other people having hairy legs at the beach. I wouldn’t look twice and yours aren’t that noticeable. So crack on!
