To be sick of the royal propaganda the UK is fed?

I know most people don’t give a damn about the Windsors any more .

However , in a week when we learn about Philip’s affairs - notably with Sarah Ferguson’s mother ( all covered up of course like the rest of their debachery) we are now expected to swallow the line that William and Kate’s next mansion is ‘paid for by William and Kate themselves ‘

No . That’s not the complete truth .Every penny the Windsors have , they have taken from the people . We now know William and Charles make millions from public services like the NHS schools and charities . We only know about this as a result of dogged journalistic digging . And most of the mainstream media barely covered the scandal .

There are many threads here about how the UK is in steep decline and how people are suffering . Yet the royals are taking in half a billion a year and charging charities on top !

At least admit to us that all their money is stolen from us ?

Oh and if you haven’t heard the queen knew all about Andrew pocketing money via ‘pitch at the palace’

She was told repeatedly by officials . She did nothing
Can we have some facts please ?
The Windsors are a total facade - they are all like Andrew - he’s just the latest fall guy .

I thought you were a U.S. citizen so why would you be asked?

Apologies, I've totally mixed you up with another poster 😬

The RF is just, well.... not very likeable. That's the issue I have, amongst others.

I often read things like "I love Catherine" and "I think Charles is a good person, and quite nice really" and so on. None of us knows them and never will so the idea that someone could love or like someone from a carefully curated photo, or a rehearsed and provided speech is actually quite laughable.

The bottom line for me is, they don't care about me, so I don't care much for them either.

Dappy777 · 18/08/2025 15:17

I loathe the royal family. They make my skin crawl. It’s hard to imagine a less impressive bunch of human beings. It wouldn’t be so bad if they were all beautiful and elegant and oozing class. But they’re a ghastly, snorting, vulgar bunch of gargoyles. William is just a vacuous, grinning blank, and Harry is basically an ignorant chav with a posh accent. In fact, I doubt Harry has ever read a serious book. The sight of those imbeciles queuing up and grovelling during the royal walkabout makes me want to die of shame. I wish we’d never brought them back in the 1660s (or whenever it was).

And do you know the odd thing? I’m quite patriotic! I’m also (mildly) conservative in my politics. But I’m patriotic about things that are worth being patriotic about - Shakespeare and Dickens and Jane Austen and the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. If you speak to intelligent American or Australian anglophiles (like Bill Bryson and Clive James), it’s never the royals that draw them here. It’s Monty Python and the Oxford colleges and the canon of literature and philosophy and science. It’s seeing where DNA was discovered or where Tolkien grew up or where the Beatles played their first gig. For Christ sake, the island that produced Newton and Darwin and George Orwell and George Eliot and David Hume and Virginia Woolf and John Locke and Bertrand Russell and Aldous Huxley does NOT need a hereditary monarchy to give it an identity. We’ve got more than enough to be proud of. And don’t even get me started on our AWFUL national anthem!! Even David Bowie and Stephen Fry make me prouder than all the royals who’ve ever lived combined.

You'd like to attend all events, being the centre of attention, having to be polite and meet lots of people. Look interested at all times... have your photograph shared across the word, every move you make scrutinise, people commenting on your weight ...your makeup, your hair, the way you looked at your child or husband. The clothes you wear etc. the way you react to the event. How your kids behaved, what they were wearing, ... Whether you clapped enough etc... having people commenting online about how easy you have it and how they'd love to do it...

And they don’t have to read social media

Or teaching or driving a bus or being a hairdresser or a shift worker.

I'm not patriotic. I'm embarassed to be British.
W and H.....you're right. Devoid of personality or thoughts.
Fancy being a grinning blank accompanied by another rictus grinning blank. Nothing to say, no contribution to make other than wearing a brooch or some nail polish which is a sweet nod to Diana.. FFS!
No wonder M bailed out.

Agree

Look up the ( often hard to find ) list of the people who have refused ‘honours’
Im pretty sure David Bowie is there

Just because a speech is written for you etc , doesn't mean that what's happening isn't working?

Otherwise you might suggest that a head teacher who has a speech written for them for the annual prize giving isn't doing any work really?

Well not really becsuse a head teacher is also having to line manage all the staff deal. With parent complaints ,problems with pupils and all the other things headteachers do
It's very different to cutting a bow ,saying a few words and swanning around being waited on hand and foot.

Apparently 2 tenants have been evicted from their houses neighbouring W&K's new estate. So maybe they are not such champions of the homeless then.

If you read the link I posted above you'll find the 11 'working' royals scratch up some six month's full time 'work' between them.

Some ten months each me-time doesn't look like that bad a deal.

Eviction notices were not served and they are not homeless. They have been given alternative accommodation.

We don't know for sure if that is the case. We don't know if they were forcibly turned out or went willingly; whether the alternative accommodation was the same standard & if they were happy with it. And I am sure the RF have ways of getting people out which may not require actual eviction notices to be served.

Personally I don't think I would like being forced to leave my home because an obscenely privileged family wants to move in. Perhaps they were the tenants' 'forever homes' too?

But I don't understand why W&K don't care about the optics of all this. Are they really oblivious to how it all looks - moving into a bigger home during a cost of living crisis and being suspected of turfing other people out of their homes? All the while claiming to be champions of the homeless?

I think the PR team is trying to cast Mike and Zara as the obligatory ‘court jesters,’now they’ve lost H.
We are being manipulated into thinking that they are ‘‘hilariously funny and just like all of us’. A strategy to counter the dull W and K?

Yes it's not ' all the time' by any stretch of the imagination. It's barely a few hours a week. They have tons of privacy during their many months of holidays. They have a sweet deal and they know it. They are experts at putting out PR about how hard they have it/ how they are 'just like you'/ how frugal they are and how much they suffer for their duty!
